  3. @@Mnicole, I had my surgery Tuesday early am I was in ssssoooo much pain from the air in my body. My BP was extremely high hadn't been able to sleep or anything. I felt like I would take 1 step forward and 2 steps back. I put 2. & 2 together and believe it or not the morphine was contributing to the gas pain. I say this because when I finally was able to pass gas I had some relief, so I went gung ho on increasing my walking. Started feeling good then I would push the morphine button and BAM right back to day 1. I finally said to myself let's try a test. I asked them to take me off morphine pump. So they did, but then they continued to inject every 4 hrs the morphine. I then stopped that and asked them for something totally different. They gave me narco. But then that you can only get every 4 hrs. So of course after about 2 hrs I was in pain again. I had them call my surgeon and see if I could go back on certain meds I took on a daily basis, of course they just said, we are going to discharge you. This was at 11pm. Anyway I got home, crushed my meds and had some narco and tramadol here so I alternated every 1.5 hrs. And then was able to take my xanax and seroquel. I slept all night except to go to the bathroom. I now felt very stiff. I didn't crush any pain pills in the middle of the night but I did 1st thing in the am. My husband came home and couldn't believe the improvement I made since discharge. If you don't feel the meds are working talk to somebody about switching them. I know for a fact the morphine was not the best choice after 12 hrs post op. It's your body and only you can know what is working for you. I only explained this long winded story because ppl need to speak up during their recovery. We are not all the same.... keep me posted on your outcome Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  6. My husband had gastric bypass couldn't hold anything down. Of course a stubborn man so wouldn't make a drs appt. finally I won the battle to go to doc and found out he had already formed a large amount of scar tissue, surgery and then 2. Months later back in surgery again. That was a year ago. He is doing better now, thank goodness. Here's the real bad part. He was at work with his office door closed, he explained to me it felt like it did before the other 2 surgeries to fix his issue. He passed out in his office. We have no idea how long he was unconscious but I'll cut it short. Extremely dehydrated and had zero potassium in his body. They said that if he didn't come in when he did to the ER he could have passed away. It took him being admitted and 4 days of IV to get his potassium back up to normal levels... it won't hurt to get checked out... go now Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  18. I did no pre- op and I had surgery Tuesday at 7:30 am. Today is my first day I feeling good. I left the hospital last night at like 11 pm because they kept giving me morphine. I told them at 4 pm I didn't want the morphine felt like I was taking 1 step forward 2 steps back every time they gave it to me. Today I crushed some tramadol and took my regular meds and I feel human again. I had asked them to give me my regular meds and they refused. So I said well I have them in my purse. What happens if I just take them. Wow the Doc was on the phone in an instant. She said your not getting the morphine so we can discharge you. It was fine for me.... so back to your question I'm not sure if not doing the pre/op diet had anything to do with the ungodly pain I felt. It's air in your body that hurts so much. And to be honest not really anything besides that. So not doing the diet??? IDK. But everyone in there was feeling the same pain. If you want answers to your other question get in touch with me through FB Michelle L Rose Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Fried chicken

chicken parm is an awesome way to eat chicken. Just a tiny bit of sauce no fried chicken. ( bare) and a lot of cheese. All protien. My husband does this and he had the bypass. He would never want to eat fried food. He has lost 250lbs since sept 28 2015 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Diarrhea

Yes I agree with you that it is scary that it could be an ongoing thing. I would start getting a second opinion before you go back to your doc. Then that will give you some either piece of mind or if not, the right questions to ask your dr. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
