3 month exercises
vanzimme replied to dominyks_mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i go to the gym 4 days a week. I do 3 miles on random hills on the stationary bike then i do 30 mins random hills on the treadmill. I also use the machines or the kettle bells to get in weight training. I found a bunch of good simple exercises online and use these to get my areas of problem in order. No trainer since i too cannot afford one. -
i do everything in a romaine lettuce leaf, tuna salad, chicken salad, seafood salad, blt's. I do sliced meat wrapped around a slice of cheese or a sliver of dill pickle. Also string cheese. sometime i will freeze a greek yogurt and let it thaw half way to have a frozen yogurt snack in the afternoon or when i am PMSing

i burp all the time when i eat and if i drink to much to fast i burp. I say nowadays i could win a burping contest i'm so good at it. I just smile and place that in my list of post-op life changes. Sometime it is worse than others. No biggy.

Regrets after surgery?
vanzimme replied to ecoreen94's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's ok to feel regret so long as you realize it is just a phase you need to go thru. You chose to do something life changing. I had no regrets right off. Now at 2 months there are things i want to eat that i can't tolerate and i ask myself why i did this. then i look at the weight I've lost and how good i feel and i realize that i did this to feel better and I do. the choice we made was for the right reasons and it is a matter of getting over our minds to enjoy what we have done. food is a large part of all of our lives especially those that are overweight. It is hard to combat these mental feelings and that where the regret comes from. hang in there. It gets better as you are able o eat more foods and feel more normal . -
i do a keto diet. I have some problem with red meats but other than that everything has been OK. i do lettuce burgers, blts, eggs with bacon or sausage, tuna with avocado. cottage cheese. Most of my pre-op keto recipes i eat just fine

Slimy, frothy (foamy) saliva
vanzimme replied to up4challenge's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i get a knot if i eat to fast or don't chew it enough. As for Water it makes me nauseated and gives me heartburn. I have found alternatives to water. I add some crystal light or some of the Protein juice nectar's with water right now im into tea. Its all about getting the liquid down. I too learned that i fill up with a WAY smaller portion than i originally thought possible. -
Is your liquid intake a lot of broth/bullion? these have a LOT of salt in them which will also make Water weight stay put. Make sure you are getting non-salty fluids in and are walking to help more the fluids out of your cells. This is a post-op phase and you will begin to loose soon.

Pre-op Liquid Diet/Liver Reduction
vanzimme replied to Kitty2272's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
im on my liquid diet also as if yesterday. I make sure i got stock that has more Protein than the rest and do my Protein shakes for Breakfast and dinner. I am allowed fruit smoothies with no seeds. and can have 3oz of plain chicken at dinner if needed to make it thru. So far as long as i drink enough i am ok but if i don;t keep my tummy full of liquids then i get hungry. Good luck you can do it. -
I was instructed after surgery to do a multivitamin and sub lingual B-12

I felt like everyone was staring at me at the gym
vanzimme replied to gustavio's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
i too don't like going to the gm but i go. It does feel like gyms are for skinny people who dont need to loose weight and work out. But hey I need to do this so screw them and i put in my headphones and away i go. Sometimes i even will close my eyes and just push thru. Its hard but you gotta just know that this is the best for you. Good luck and keep going. -

vanzimme replied to HRHMKB's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
i'm having sleeve in november and i have a 4 year old. My mother is taking the week off after surgery so i can re-coup and help with my monsters energetic self. That with hubby helping should be good. It's the lifting that will get me as she loves to be carried to bed and when she gets upset. -
Liver reduction diet starts tomorrow.
vanzimme replied to mommabear2311's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What brand of shakes are people using that taste decent for their pre-op? I am using premier protein since it has 30gm of protein and is low in calories and sugar. Looking to see if there are better options out there. I get sleeved in November and start my liquid pre-op diet for 10 days on 10/31 -
Ketosis - How safe is it?
vanzimme replied to IveGotThePower's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have been doing low carb/high healthy fat diet for 4 weeks now and have lost 22 pounds. I have not had cravings for carbs. Even on those days when my family has higher carb Snacks i can avoid them and still have no problems. My PCP is following my pre and post op care since i am having sleeve in Mexico and this is the diet she requested I be on.
