Pre-op Liquid diet question .....
ChrisInGalveston replied to LAS2's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had asked the nutrition people with my doctor and they said pickle juice was ok. Since the objective was ketosis the pickle juice wasn't interfering with that. Sent from the BariatricPal App -

Any RN's on here?
ChrisInGalveston replied to Smdnght28's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am an RN, but I just got my bypass. I am wondering how I will get enough Water during my shift. The manager keeps making us put our water in a back cubby where it is largely inaccessible. Sent from the BariatricPal App -
How much water per hour
ChrisInGalveston replied to Mindy78's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My instructions for my post hospital phase (full liquid) is a MINIMUM of 16 oz per day. The goal is up to 64 oz of NON-caloric fluids. So you don't count Protein or any other fluids. Just non-calorie fluids. My protein goal is 60-80 grams per day. I am hoping I can get to the bottom of that limit today. I have a variety of Proteins available. The instructions for drinking Water are 2 ounces per 15 minutes so the maximum would be 8 oz. per hour. I am not making it that fast yet evey hour. Six oz, yes, if not drinking protein. -

October Surgery Buddies
ChrisInGalveston replied to limesqueeze23's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Since I was up and walking and tolerating fluids I was cleared to come home last night. I've been conservative on intake but got ambitious with walking. I did 30 minutes all at once around several blocks from my house and back. Re-awakened a lot of soreness. Keep it calm and steady. Chew-able vitamins are HUGE! Took those slow. Ordinary meds in Oikos Triple Zero need to be stirred in to hide the foul flaovr after they are crushed or opened. It's all learning. -

No, they said it would make me more thirsty. I am more awake this morning. I did 6 laps of the hospital floor. They are going to get my catheter out in a few minutes. Sent from the BariatricPal App I had my surgery this morning too. Apparently they did my leak test while I was in surgery??? I've been drinking Water, broth and tea since I woke up. Very small sips but so far so good. Love my pain meds too. I've walked twice to the bathroom with not too much discomfort. Best wishes to everyone! Sent from my SM-N910V using the BariatricPal App I am still waiting for that test. Sent from the BariatricPal App -
