Thanks chica, maybe I am normal then. I did call my doc and am waiting for a response back. As for chewing my tongue, I guess it is protein.:wink2: BTW computers almost make us all very open. Could you imagine us asking eachother these questions in person? I am just glad we have this forum to be so open.

I had my band put in yesterday morning (3/19), now I am having trouble urinating. I have to go every 30 minutes but only urinating about 2 tablespoons (estimate of course). Also when I fall asleep I have been constantly waking up biting my tongue. Have any of you had these problems post surgery?

6 days and counting until I get banded on 3/19! I am just so excited, that I am not even scared about the surgery yet. I am so tired of being big, and looking forward to the future of a smaller me. 1. Being confortable in a plane seat. 2. Being able to fit on a rollar coaster w/o shoving the safety harness on top of me. 3. Walking up stairs w/o being out of breath 4. Being able to run, dance and play with my toddler 5. Longs walks w/o knee pain 6. Going to bed at night w/o pain from weight stress during the day 7. My husband being able to pick me up when he hugs me like he used to. 8. Going to the park with my toddler and being able to swing on the swings and go down the slide w/o fear of getting stuck. 9. Not having my mother in law make comments about my weight when I visit twice a year. (At least it is only twice a year, thank God!) 10. Not feeling like the fattest one in my family. (My sister has always been the skinny one and now is commenting that I better not get skinnier than her. Oh well sis, it is going to happen ) 11. Seeing old friends and not being embaressed of how much weight I gained since high school. There is so much more, but this is good for right now.

Wow that's fast! Mine is at the same time and I thought that I would be going home that early evening.

I am getting Banded Tomorrow!!! To all the bandsters that went home the same day: How long were you at the hospital?

I am getting my band on Wednesday. I am so nervous and excited about it. I thought the day would never come and now it is almost here. I haven't gone shopping yet. I guess I should do that tonight. Today I am on a cleaning binge.

I could blame genetics because most of my family is obese, but really it's my fault. If I didn't eat junk for everyday I would be this way. It is really an addiction. An alcoholic or smoker can give up alcohol and cigerettes but we cannot just give up food. Though I guess I could give up the junk food. But I am getting the band next Wed. and I am hoping for a big change!

Those are great. Hey how about being at or even less than what your driver's license says. Wow I don't think that I ever have been.

My doctor just said that I should lose 5-10 pounds before surgery. Since my initial consultation I have actually gained 6 (My grandmother died last weeks and we were with her in the hospital for a couple of weeks and ate nothing but junk). I would like to do a liquid diet before my surgery which is one week from today. Can someone please tell me what a liquid diet consists of?

Both my mom and aunt lost 20lbs a month for the first 5 months and have both stayed about 115lbs lost. Wow I hope I have their genes, I get banded next week.

You people are bad influences :smile2: I am all set to start my week long no carb diet and then I read this thread. Now I feel like eating the whole can of icing I have in my pantry. Oh well I will try not too. Best of luck to you all!

Thanks everyone for your responses, I decided to just go no carb. I lost 13lbs. in a week last time I did it.

Mine isn't that serious, he just said try to lose 5-10 lbs. if you don't that is okay. So really I just want to get back to where I was at the office.

My mom had surgery done 2 years ago, she asked to have hers a little higher because it is more confortable with jeans.

My date is March 19, I can't wait!

Hi Everyone, I am Denise and very excited to say that I finally got approved and will be banded in 10 days. My mom and aunt are both banded and lost weight very quickly about 20lbs a month. I just hope I got their genes. Well just wanted to introduce myself because I will be on here a lot.

Find a new doctor and call your insurance. My insurance says that you must be 21. If you contact a bariatric surgeon they can tell you a WLS friendly doctor.

Hi I finally got my surgery date for March 19 and am very excited. Though this summer I am in two weddings, my bestfriend's (5/31) and my sisters (6/27). I need to buy dresses but do not know what size to get. My mother and my aunt both had the lap band done and lost 20lbs. a month. Right now I am 230lbs. and a size 24 for the dress that I want. Each size down is a loss of 2 inches i the bust, waist and hip. I am thinking about getting a size 20 for my friends and a size 18 for my sisters. I am just worried that I won't be like my family and not lose as much. My questions: What was your inch and weight loss each month? Do you think my estimate is realistic on the sizing. Thank you so much!
