    Vitamins suddenly making me nauseous

The Vitamin Patches are awesome. No nausea, don't take up room in my stomach, easy. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  2. Follow surgeon/nutritionist guide on when to start them. Mine had me wait two weeks so stomach heals. I'm way less nauseous and able to tolerate almost anything. I'm on Patches for ease. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    HMMM.....

Full feels different. I'm two weeks post up and my hunger was mental. Got real food today and felt like a complete human! Don't over drink just because you can. Check your nutritionist guidelines. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    2 weeks out !

I am two weeks out from sleeve. I was 202 day of surgery and 196 today. I was a bit bummed but getting compliments so I measured myself instead and I'm down 2 inches each in chest, hips, thighs. As a low bmi I was told to expect to lose half my 70 pound (surgeon goal) in six months. 35/6 is only 6 pounds per month. Better than I've done for years!! Just need to not be hard on myself and put the scale away. It's a bigger temptation than food. As for skin, I've added a gummy hair, skin, nails supplement. Adding weight training as soon as cleared for exercise. Muscle behind skin matters to where the skin "belongs". Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  5. I have a thyroid problem and lost hair before surgery. My stylist recommended the Aveda Invanti system and I lose less after surgery than I did before. Pricey but worth it for me! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Weight loss surgery will not fix any psychological eating, binging, self sabatoging issues. Additionally it can be very emotionally taxing. The insurance and surgeon want to ensure you are capable of being successful. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Having a bad day!

We are essentially starving and physically recovery from surgery is very taxing on the system. This can cause "bad days". It's like a temporary depression. Get your fluids and rest. It will get better. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  9. I used to be able to swallow all my pills at once (preop) but not it's a process (7 days post op). I'm using Vitamin Patches. Go slow. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Help please fellow sleevers

I'm 7 days post op and am not yet getting all my fluids in. As a result I am only urinating twice a day. Sometimes it's orange, sometimes almost clear. My dr said I'm fine. Lots of body adjustment. When in doubt call dr Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  11. I had every intention of small bite practicing but I'd finish and be like, "dang it I finished." I'm 5 days post op and have just increased from 1oz to 2oz each half hour. Large bites just are not an option. It causes gas a fullness pains. In the hospital they brought me way too much food. The nurse suggested I take the 1oz med cup and portion out what I wanted. Worked like a charm. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  12. It takes about three weeks for the hormones affecting hunger to start shifting. By cheating you are cheating yourself of the chance for that brain reset in your hunger. Get back on track asap! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    What soups?

Any soup with chunks strained out is acceptable. My favorite is Progresso Light chicken & cheese Enchilada soup. I strain it leaving me about a cup of creamy broth. Tastes just like eating a blended enchilada. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Support

My family were not thrilled. I think their concerns are pretty reasonable. We watched my sister cheat and fail at wls just two years ago. My husband always takes the "whatever you need to be happy" approach. But, as surgery got closer he struggled to be supportive because of the significant inconvenience to him and our household. I work for my mother who was not for the idea. I invited her to the seminar and kept her in the loop as I made arrangements and positive changes to ensure my success. But she kept trying to talk me out of it up to a few days before. I've been recovering at her home since discharge 10/19 (sleeve 10/18). She's been amazingly supportive seeing how well I am doing. This isn't what others would choose for me or themselves, but I set the tone of what I expect from them. I am being open and honest with all my people about having wls. I feel it will keep me more accountable to succeeding. If I am successful there is nothing to be unsupportive of. Good luck! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Help stomach flu

The carbonation in ginger ale may be causing the cramping. Switch to a ginger tea Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  17. You should spend 30 minutes eating your 4oz. Careful not to rush your diet. If not cleared for soft foods, don't advance. You can really hurt yourself. Baritastic App helps with timing meals/drinking Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Feeling scared

I was sleeved oct. 18. I crave a grilled cheese sandwich in a ridiculous way. But I am not about to rush any phas or cheat. I know from participating here that my cravings are in my mind. If I can't manage my first week without bad choices I had no business doing this. I found a recipe on Pinterest for Protein Jell-O shots. I made them with sf Jello and sf pudding, poured into 2oz cups. Keeps my protein up, sweet tooth at bay. If you need chocolate try chocolate Protein drinks or sugar free fudgepops. Sleeve with tricare

I am Tricare Prime West. My seminar was in March. 1st visit with surgeon in May. Surgery 10/18. The drs requirements took longer than tricare. Once completed and sent for authorization, 10 days to approval. 35bmi with 2 comorbidities. Paid out of pocket for nutritionist and psych to avoid delay. MTF tried to hijack any referrals. Any October 2016 Sleevers?

Mine 10/18. I found the chewable gas x far more effective than strips. My challenge has been staying ahead of nausea and gas. This means waking to take meds before it's unpleasant. Easier than I expected. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  22. I was given anti nausea in hospital long before I felt nausea. I came home last night and had my first nausea one hour before time for anti nausea mess. I called and they increased frequency. Once vomiting starts, dehydration is fast. Just stay ahead of it. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
