    Protein in pudding?

Yes. sugar free pudding, skim milk, 5 scoops Isopure unflavored. Poured into 5 - 3oz Rubbermaid and chill. 20g Protein each Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  2. You should not be moving onto other food if you aren't getting Protein because protein first is the rule. Just as you add protein to you coffee, you can add it elsewhere too. Stir it into to sugar free pudding, yogurt, or drink Protein shakes. A sugar free, high Protein Drink or snack shouldn't conflict with your meal plan. Ask your nut. Make sure you are focusing on what you need to do and not what you can do. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Psych Eval tomorrow

The psych evaluation is not treatment. It's to evaluate if you have obvious psych issues that would prohibit you being safe and successful in this process. People can fake their way through it whether in person or not. I am also a counselor. I believe that actual therapy should be a requirement but that is a completely separate issue. 4. At 5'5" my doctor set a goal weight of 130. That seems crazy to me because my pre-kids weight was 165. But as I lose I keep an open mind about letting my body decide. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Vitamin Patch Placement

They can be squirrelly little buggars. Lol. I put mine under my bra on the side. This seems to hold them in place and keep them undisturbed. I also had some success with the bottom of my feet. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    8wks post op

I use the Vitamin Patches because I just don't want to take up space or time with ingesting them. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  10. Check in with your nutritionist. Your Protein should be based on goal weight/current weight. This number is different for everyone. Don't change your diet based on suggestions here. You have a professional team that guides you based on your tests and goals. Check in with them. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    I'm Jealous - Surgery Date

I was scheduled in May for October. Now post op I'm really grateful. I used the time to change behaviors, one at a time for at least two weeks. This has made post op so much easier. Find the Vitamins you can tolerate, try high Protein recipes, sample Protein drinks, practice small bites & slow meals. The hardest behavior for me to learn was separation of eating and drinking. The holidays will fly by! A year from now you'll be thinner and this wait will seem like nothing! Hang in there! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  12. If the lifestyle changes and healthy choices were easy for us we wouldn't need surgery to begin with. A significant number of people cheat their way into the process and don't use the time preop to overcome behavioral/psychological issues. There's a high incidence of eating disorders, addictions and mental illness too. Many people have an enabling support system, people who support their bad habits or fail to support good habits. I had to work diligently to change habits in advance and did not set my date until all necessary changes had been achieved and successfully maintained. Make use of your resources, set goals and enlist your support system to support those goals. This is an opportunity. Some people will seize it and some will waste it. It's all about choice. BURPING!

I have this problem if I eat or drink too much or too fast. Slow down and go just a tiny bit less. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  14. Get to a counselor. You've gone through some significant changes and things haven't gone as you wished. The sleeve can be as effective as the bypass. Go talk about your feelings, your challenges and your goals. Give your emotions a healthy outlet. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Feeling Discouraged

I had hypothyroid and found out three years ago it was actually Hashimotos. I'll be symptomatic when numbers are in range. Ask for an antibody test. As for sleep, the Vitamin Patches in the store of this app sell a sleep patch that is wonderful. Also my thyroid is super reactive to soy which is in a lot of the high Protein foods and also reactive to cruciferous veggies because of toxins. Try removing soy and going organic on veggies for a week. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Patch VS. Pill?

I love my Vitamin Patches from the store on this app. I was tolerating chewables preop but post op I hated the delay and just couldn't imagine being full on Vitamins instead of a sf pudding. They are so easy. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  17. There can be so many issues here. Eating to fast? Too much? Too hot? Too spicy? The pancreas and/or gallbladder can be aggravated following surgery and preop diet but both would be sharp pain. You might need to poop, the system backs up quickly. Are you hydrated? Is soup chunk free? You might be getting a noodle or mushy carrot way too soon. Dairy in soup? If it's not happening, or completely tolerable on clear liquid, you can go back to that until office opens. If you're really worried, call his service and ask. Don't ignore pain above a 6. 18. I chose the sleeve because my surgeon prefers it. I want his best work, so his opinions matter most Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    Not losing weight

I'm 2 weeks post op. I was a 35 bmi to start with surgery weight of 202. Today I am 195. When I am tired or behind on fluids I can get in my head about that being a "slow loss". So I took measurements and they were far more dramatic. I have to remind myself that I couldn't have lost 7 pounds that fast (or at all) before. If I follow my plan, Water and Protein, I will get there. Healthy success matters more than fast. Hang in there! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
