Since the band, has grocery bill gone down?

My grocery bill is gone! I have the Lapband and my husband had gastric bypass. It is wonderful!! I buy frozen fruit so it lasts and it's so yummy! I have 2 adult children still living at home because of the crappy economy, but they buy their own food!! -Dawn (Minnesota)

    Scared & indecisive

I would try LA Weightloss first. I did for my pre surgery weightloss and lost 55 pounds in 5 months! I still had the Lapband surgery (April 10th, 2008) to help me with the rest and to be my tool to keep it off! You don't have much to lose so just try diet & exercise! Normally they won't even consider surgery unless you're 100 lbs over weight or have serious health problems. Good luck! -Dawn (Minnesota)

    7 holes??

I had my surgery on April 10th. I had 6 holes. That's not unusual. Once they heal up you won't even know they are there! Good luck! -Dawn (Minnesota)
  5. Had my surgery on Thursday, April 10th. Feeling great! No pain meds. Doing my 1 oz of liquids every 15 minutes. I was just wondering if anyone else has been getting low blood sugar? My husband has a tester so I test once in awhile. I was feeling light headed awhile ago and checked my blood pressure and that was good so I grabbed the tester and my blood was 67. Any suggestions? I'm not diabetic. Thanks! -Dawn
  6. I had my lapband surgery last Thursday the 10th. Stayed over one night in the hospital and was back to work today-Monday (14th)!! Piece of cake! No pain meds for me. Everyone is different tho. I had no pain and my incisions don't really hurt that bad. Good luck to you! Stay strong and have a positive attitude! Keep me posted! Take care. -Dawn :-)
  7. That should be fine! I drink Unjury chocolate shake in the morning and Unjury Chicken soup flavor in the evening. That's good stuff and 20g of protein per shake so you get 41g (chicken has 21g) total for the day. I had my surgery last Thursday and everything went great! No pain meds for me either. Good luck to you and keep me posted! -Dawn

    low blood sugar

:regular_smile:I drink unjury which has no carbs so juice is a good idea! I skipped the juice since I've been home so that's most likely why I'm dropping. Thanks! Back to work this morning which isn't a big deal cuz all I do is drive a schoolbus. I took no pain meds so I'm good to go! -Dawn :smile2:
  9. I had my band on April 10th also. I had nothing the first day. The 2nd day I started my clear liquids....1 oz every 15 minutes. First day home-42 oz, second day-52 oz. and then 64 ozs every day for one full week. Can have protein shake (unjury is what I use) so I get my protein to help heal. Then week 2 I can add strained cream soups made with skim milk, vegetable juice, sugar free pudding and yogurt. Third week I start pureed foods. Every doctor is different. Good luck! I'm doing good. No pain meds. Got some bloating, but everyone seems to have it. Give it time....I'm going to! -Dawn :-)

    Why am I bloated?

I'm in the same boat! Had my surgery on the 10th and was just commenting to my husband about how big and hard my tummy was! So when I read this I laughed! Glad I'm not alone. I can tinkle good and I also pass a little the other way. I drink Unjury protein drink in the morning and suppertime so maybe that's why I'm able to pass thru the other end? Good luck! Hopefully soon all of us bloated ones will feel better!! I didn't do pain medicines. I feel great! Take care-Dawn :-)

    Surgery tomorrow!!

Good luck tomorrow! I had my lapband surgery last Thursday the 10th and everything went great!! I had to stay over night and was released on Friday at 5pm. I started liquids on Friday...1 oz every 15 minutes. I had no pain medicine. I feel really good! Stay strong and everything will turn out great! Keep me posted. -Dawn

    who's on liquids with me?

I just had my lapband surgery on Thursday. I'm doing the 1oz clear fluids every 15 minutes. I get a lil blast of watery stool once in awhile. I've added Unjury protein drink so maybe it's the protein? Then again I had apple juice in the hospital (diluted) and apple juice always did give me the squirts! My tummy is still bloated from the surgery, but I'm feeling good. No pain meds. Good luck! -Dawn (Minnesota)
  13. It's best to take anything someone says in one ear and then right out the other! You're doing what's best for you and it's not anyone elses decision. I'm having the same problem with peoples negative comments. Especially my sister. Oh she knows 10 people (yea right) that have had surgery and they all gained weight back! I just laugh. I'm being banded on April 10th! That's one day after you. I'm excited! I've lost 46 pounds since November doing the treadmill everyday and LA Weightloss. I'm still doing the lapband so I have a tool to help me lose the rest and help keep it off. I've lost weight before only to gain most of it back. My husband is getting gastric bypass soon also. Just waiting his visit with his surgeon. We'll be eachothers support. Don't need peoples negative comments! Good luck to you on your surgery! Take care. -Dawn

    Minnesota Folks

Hi! I'm Dawn from Lino Lakes! I'm being banded on April 10th. I've lost 45 pounds so far before my surgery doing LA Weightloss and walking the treadmill every day for 30 minutes. I'm excited to be getting the Lapband to be my tool for the rest of my weightloss and to help keep it off! Could have had the surgery a few weeks earlier, but chose to do a Vegas trip in my motorhome first! The doctor doesn't recommend any long distance travel for 2 months so a nice trip sounded great! Then when I get back I'll be having surgery 4 days later! I get sick of people saying...WHY? I researched for a year and it seems right for me! No more up and down diets for me! I want to get down to a reasonable weight and stay there.
