Usually the pre-op diet starts two weeks before surgery. I started slowly phasing into it so it wouldnt be as difficult to go from eating 3-4 meals of food to drinking all liquids.

i think for women its approximately 0.37 grams per lb of body weight ( i would use goal weight or ideal body weight). Excess Protein is stored as fat.

Keep drinking fluids every hour. Eat sugar free jello or have sugar free ice pops. Hang in there, your sacrifice before surgery helps pave the way for your future. I believe in you.YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!

a boiled egg is fine. you can also have a non fat low/no sugar greek yogurt..I think the hardest part is not chewing anything all day, so I bought sugar free gum.In the long run, it'll be worth the sacrifice now. Stay strong!

A daily meal plan for the patient’s pre-op liquid diet may look like this: try to follow something like this. I was told i could sneak in a 4 oz piece of chicken boiled in broth, and have unlimited sugar free ice pops ( only 15 calories each, so 20 is only 300 calories..lol)

You won't have to do a pre-op diet? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App After the first initial meeting with my surgeon in July, I started substituting one meal a day with the protein drink and began drinking 32-64 oz. of water. By the middle of August I increased it to two protein drinks and 64 oz. of water As of Sept .20th, I have been on the complete pre-op diet.
