  2. I had a similar issue-doctor prescribed some medication which helped a little but then I ended up developing pain...long story short I had appendicitis and needed to have my appendix removed. This is a very very rare complication, but the point is, listen to your body and if something doesn't feel right, check with your doctor. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Question

Don't be nervous. They will ask what has brought you to this decision, why you think you'll be successful, any barriers you see to being able to make this work for you. They will also speak to transferred addictions to drugs/alcohol in place of food. They just want to make sure you're prepared for this major life change as insurance companies don't want to approve if it's not going to work. Good luck! Boobs and bras. :-)

I am a store manager at Victoria's Secret and can offer tons of options depending on where you are in the process. If you're not quite at a 38 band yet, I recommend Lane Bryant or Soma. But once you hit 38 and below, check us out! We have a lot of different options, including lightweight sports bras that are inexpensive and great for hanging around. Let me know if you want more info and I can give you specific suggestions! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Normal hospital stay?

It depends on your surgery time and tolerance. I had surgery at 7:30am and wasn't allowed any food or drink that day. The following day they started testing me on Jello, broth and Water. If I could tolerate, they would have sent me home. Unfortunately, I struggled with nausea and couldn't keep the jello down so I ended up staying an extra night. 3 weeks out

Don't put so much pressure on yourself-just follow your plan and the weight loss will sneak up on you. I am a low BMI sleeve, had surgery on 9/7 and just hit total 40 pounds lost-it happens, but like I said, it sneaks up on you slowly. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  13. I was sleeved on 9/7 and aside from some bad nausea the first few days (for which I was given a patch behind my ear to settle the effects) I haven't had many issues. Now, I've been feeling terrible nausea for the past three days. Getting in all of my Protein and Water, but it hasn't really subsided. Does anyone have any insights? Planning to call my surgeon, but wanted to check here also. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Nausea seven weeks out

Thanks everyone! I absolutely thought the pain was related to my sleeve, so I was completely shocked to learn it was appendicitis and not related at all. My baritatric team was involved-came down to the ER and took a look as well as looked at the CT to make sure there weren't any obstructions in my sleeve. They said it was a total coincidence and very very rare that this would happen as related to the sleeve. I think the sleeve really saved me though-under normal circumstances I would NEVER go to the ER for some pain in my belly-I only went because I was afraid it had something to do with the sleeve-talk about divine intervention!! My nutritionist also called after surgery to advise me on diet-said I should go back to stage 1 and stick with just shakes for about 4-5 days. And, of course, just two weeks after I started back with intense workouts at Orange Theory, now I need to go easy for another six weeks while my new wounds heal on top of my "old" ones. But, all in all, I feel so lucky to have caught this before something very bad happened. We all know surgery is no picnic, but at least my sleeve helped me to catch it early! 15. I had a two week pre-op diet. First week was three meals a day consisting of two meals 3-5 oz of lean meat and a cup of vegetables. Third meal was a Protein shake. sugar free Jello and clear liquids in between. Second week was only Protein shakes and clear liquids. Important to do to shrink the liver for surgery as well as to start building the discipline and consistency in practicing what is necessary to be successful. For your trip, I would follow your nutritionist to the letter, especially since it's so close to your surgery. If you need to have a meal, stick with one meal, no more than 3-5 oz of lean meats and no more veggies. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    TIRED?

I didn't struggle too too much with energy but did find I needed more sleep. I'm eight weeks out and starting having abdominal pain a few days ago-ended up in the ER with appendicitis but long story short, they found my potassium was dangerously low. I've never had a potassium deficiency before, so I wondered if it was WLS related. Might be something to look into-this can contribute to energy loss. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. I was totally a victim of justifying how I used my WW points-hello, Taco Bell crunchy taco surpreme (only five points!). It was so misguided, and to think of all the unnatural stuff in fast food now makes me kinda sick to my stomach. I call that progress! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Nausea seven weeks out

So the nausea went away after taking one pill and I didn't end up taking another-it faded away on it's own. Now though, I've felt some pretty strong pains in my lower abdomen since Sunday afternoon. I thought maybe it was gas pain so I took a laxative to help move things along. Laxative worked just as it should (except for waking me at 4am), but now pain remains. Any ideas? I'm getting a little nervous Bc things have been smooth thus far and I just hope there isn't some problem that I'm not addressing. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Nausea seven weeks out

Definitely not pregnant and haven't changed anything in my routine at all-eat the same things, Water, Vitamins, etc. No other symptoms besides the nausea and it doesn't necessarily coincide with eating/drinking. Spoke with the doctor today and he did say to try zofran just for the next two days. Said if it doesn't resolve by Sunday morning that I should call back and they would probably want to do an endoscopy to check things out (which scares me a lot Bc my first endoscopy experience was far from pleasant). @@tenseintexas I also just want it to go away-I've never been a medication person, but if it helps this to pass quietly, then I'm willing to try! Just took a half a pill and heading back to my sales floor to finish the last few hours of my workday-wish me luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
