    Hungry! I week post op

When I was pre-op and then just after surgery I was mistaken in believing that the hunger hormone would be gone from the moment of surgery and on. Boy was that wrong. I have learned since then that it is actually quite common to have hunger after surgery. Some of it is head hunger, some of it is legit hunger. When on just liquids its no wonder. I can say though now 8 weeks later your hunger will subside. Having "real" foods and soft foods really helps. At about 3-4 weeks my hunger literally just went away. I only feel hunger now when fuel is truly necessary. And am satisfied by a few bites of high Protein. So, it gets way better.
  3. Yes, I have the same issues with meat. Unfortunately it has gotten worse now than it was a month ago. I sort of avoid meat, I wish it was easier. I used to love red meat, now I am struggling with it. I struggle with chicken and fish if overcooked also. Cottage cheese seems to be my saving grace these days.
  4. I try not to compare my weight loss with the pace of others but I know how you feel. Sounds like you are doing great though! Going out to restaurants for me is fun but a bit frustrating. Everything always looks so good, but I can literally still only eat maybe two bites. My husband is enjoying having most of my plate, lol.
  5. Stalls are frustrating but since you are losing sizes you can see your body is changing! I have gone through a couple stall already and what I find is when they are over I have lost a few inches. Great feeling. My work is the same when I do go into the office. We have a Christmas party coming and a potluck in two weeks. I will take it as a challenge to make something healthy, hearty, and yummy!
  6. Congratulations on your success! It is so fun to go through the closet and rediscover smaller clothes, isn't it? I'm happy to hear Thanksgiving went good for you. Like you, I did pretty good, but DANG did I miss the rolls too! But I satisfied my carbo craving with a few pieces of Chex mix. Naughty food but only had a few. And ohhh were they good.
  7. Way to go! You're really doing well. Isn't the increased energy wonderful? Good luck on your 5k. I am in awe of you for doing that. At this point I only run when chased, but I aspire to get into running shape!
  8. Great outlook! My recovery was overall pretty easy. And Oooooh I love me some clean crisp sheets!!

    NSV shout outs

Well, when viewing my side profile my tummy is finally smaller than my chest. That is a big NSV for me since my boobs have lost 2 full cup sizes. My husband cuddles me in these cold nights and can wrap his arms actually all around me. Feels great!!

  14. Guess what else? We are the same age!
  15. @@81Kellogram Hi there! We have a few things in common- I am also a graphic designer and also from Texas! I had the sleeve surgery on October 3, about 8 weeks ago. I can understand your concerns. One thing we self contracting designers have in our favor is mobility. I have everything on my laptop and I back it up regularly. When I was admitted to the hospital for surgery, I brought my laptop and my work. In recovery, I was able to do LIGHT work, like emails and some correspondence, and reviewing of some designs. I let most of my regular clients know I would be out of work for a few days. I was back working pretty regularly one week later. I also work some hours in an office. I attempted to go back to that office one week post op, and could only manage a couple hours then needed to come home and grab a nap. I love having flexibility as my own boss. It really worked out in my favor during recovery. It's great your husband is also in the field so he can pinch hit for you in a squeeze. Rest assured, you are going to be fine. Just be sure and follow all your surgeon's directions and don't push it. Get the rest you will need. Your clients will still be there :-) Best of luck to you!! I look forward to hearing about your stories and success post op! Kel

    Yummy snack

I just bought some today. They are a good snack that satisfies the crunch craving!
  20. @@Raymia , Just wait till next year, and how they will be eating their words. People can be soooo rude! The day I met my mother-in-law for the first time while simultaneously hugging me said, "You sure aren't a frail twig like Lisa (his ex) was." I was like...uh, thanks. Even though my journey is just beginning, I now feel better in social situations, knowing that my body is transforming and I will never be as big as they see me now. Its nice knowing, even though they don't realize it, yet.
  21. Airline lost my luggage and the first thing that came to mind was MY NEW SMALLER JEANS I JUST BOUGHT ARE GONE!! That's what I was most upset about ;-)

If the airline lost your luggage, you should get a decent settlement from them. Delta lost my friend's suitcase last year, and he got $2000. That should buy you lots of new jeans!!

I filed for the $ to cover it. I think I will get enough $ to get a few nice pairs of jeans!! Hopefully. :-)

    I am thankful for...

I'm thankful for my incredible husband. So much to say but not enough room. Thankful that I'm spending this holiday with my beautiful daughter! In the shower today I was able to see my 'lady bits' without forcibly pushing my tummy in with my hands. lol. I'm even thankful for the excess skin now on my inner thighs. Shows I'm losing the fat there!

    Before and After Pics

Sweet!! You are rocking those size 6 cute pants!! Congrats, you look amazing! LOL about the sales person. Probably was just being lazy and didn't want to undress the mannequin.
  25. I really think it depends on how well you really know him. Personally I would wait till you were more than 'kinda sorta' dating. I'd want to be sure that there was a true solid relationship forming. I'm sure it would be nice to have a support person who cares about you help you through the journey. Can you trust him? Have you told others about the surgery?
