Honestly, I bought the sampler tried one and the rest is still sitting in the pantry for October :/

I had the same problem. Now I do 8-10 oz 1% milk plus 1 scoop GENEPRO (30 grams of protein) flavorless Protein powder. Love this combo. Not sweet. Filling.
-
See if she'll give you a bottle to try. I bought some and never drank them. Most of them are like 15 G protein in 20 oz. to drink 20 oz post op to get 15 g of protein was too much for me. I preferred to put 30 gram genepro powder in 8-10 oz of milk abs be done with it. Just me though.

I had this at 8 weeks post up, they thought it was a stricture. Went in for the upper endo and it ended up being an ulcer. If that happens message me. It's an entirely different beast good luck!!!

8 weeks - how many ounces
Er1n replied to Victoria Bontempi's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
2 ounces every 3 hours. -
My md and nut discourage juicing. They explained it to me to get enough juice for a serving you'd have to put in 5 or more pieces of fruit. You can't eat those 5 pieces of fruit but because you are juicing them you can drink them. Therefore drinking the calories, sugar and everything else involved with those fruits. I'm sure I didn't explain it as well as they did for me but I hope that makes sense.

3 days post op you can have broccoli and cheese soup? Be careful. I was allowed cream based soups but strained for the first 2 weeks post op. Mostly I had clear broths, protein shakes, jello and popsicles.
-
Truvia or Splenda brown sugar.

Not new to low carbs & so I am familiar with some side effects

Some doctors say no gum at all, the risk of swallowing to great for them. And those that allow gum say it must be sugar free, from my experience. -
I use the same and all my labs look great (4mo post op). I do not use the b12 I do a self injection once a month for that. I use 3 separate patches. 2 during the day (multivitamin and vitd3/calcium) and Iron at night. They suggest taking the iron and calcium at different times for better absorption.

On my plan 3 weeks post op would still be puréed. Absolutely no rice or bread. Does your plan have those allowed or are you just having them?

OMG so hungry five days postop
Er1n replied to SleevedinSI's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you are truly hungry eat something you are allowed. It won't taste like what you are craving but it will fill your tummy so you aren't actually hungry. -
What Is Your Favorite Healthy Food Discovery?
Er1n replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Food and Nutrition
Milk!?! 1% milk. I love it now. Not exciting! -
1 month post-op & I had alcohol. I want experienced feedback please!

Ulcers!! Don't do it. It's not worth it. -
Your shake is different than food. It doesn't fill your stomach the same as food. It's like water, you can drink more than 8 oz of water right? Same for stake. Try your shake. Go slow, listen to your stomach and stop when it's done. So tell tale sighs are hiccups or feeling like a burp. Good luck.
-
Post op I didn't tolerate the shakes well, just too sweet. I'm 4 months post op and my main protein before back on normal food was 10 oz 1% milk + 1 scoop genepro flavorless protein powder (30+ grams of protein). Still my go to when I need protein.

Why will this be different?
Er1n replied to AstroGuy's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 4 months postop RNY 10/24. Down 80 pounds today!! What shocked me was how drastic my tastes changed. I am not craving foods I used. I don't even want it. It doesn't even sound good. It's hard to explain but the hunger not being an issue and cravings being gone are a game changer for me. It has made this so much easier. Good luck!! -
*Biotene

Slippers. Charger. They gave me everything else. They provided: biotin (LIFESAVER!!!, chapstick, lotion, tooth paste, toothbrush). I packed all that stuff but never touched it.
-
Once approved you are good. I went below preop and no issue. Don't worry.

When can I start smoking again?
Er1n replied to FrankLucena's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Don't do it. Ulcers from smoking are SUPER common. I had RNY 10/24/16. I am down 69 pounds. I am healthier that I've been in 20 years. Working out. Eating right. Making all the right choices. I didn't smoke or drink and I got an ulcer. I have to have bypass all over again ok Monday to cut out my ulcer and create a new pouch. It is crazy hard to not smoke but try!!! U don't want an ulcer I promise. It's awful. -
