I think you may want to try online dating. You know you don't actually meet the people online . it really should be called online introductions. That is frankly where most singles are nowadays. Was introduced to my husband through online dating. My tips for online dating are to not get into protracted online discussions. it was usually one or two exchanges to basically try to assess (cray cray or not) and then on to an in person meet up (the actual dating part). I found people who needed protracted exchanges electronically were usually time wasters and not serious. Frankly I think it is a numbers game. you need to date at lot to meet someone you mutually click with.

Think this is a no brainer, yes you need to eat more. Have snacks. I have a min of 5 and sometimes 6-7 meals a day depending on the day.

Yep that was me last week. 3 separate people pulled me aside and told me I could stop now. Really, I didn't know I needed other's permission to stop losing weight. 2 of the 3 also warned me about looking old or "gaunt" if I lose too much...Mind trip.

Deciding between 2 Dr's in Mexico, then going BUT I'm considered a revision and now unsure whether I should have Sleeve or Bypass.

I went bypass because of reflux -
Lapband to bypass how long did you have drain?
Travelher replied to mamalou's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I didn't have one at all. -
if you follow Dr Matthew Weiner on youtube, or dr Duc Vuong on facebook and many other surgeons they will all say it is well known that exercise has little impact on weight loss. it is all about the food. I am active, but haven't spent a day in the gym and don't plan to. I do plan to stay active because I like it. They both do advocate exercise for other reasons like stress relief, muscle preservation etc. but not for weight loss.

Trying to decide if I should just remove my band, or convert
Travelher replied to loridee11's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
My only regret is not getting rid of my band sooner. Especially when I found out how common these issues are. I was angry with myself for keeping my head in the sand. Once I had done a little research I realized it had to go. It does not get better, only worse and it can irreparably damage your health. Get it out asap! Like other ps have said rny is infinitely better. Back to normal...only without the health issues and an extra 100 lbs or so. -

Had mine done in one procedure. Unfortunately they just don't know what they are facing until they are in there. I was lucky. Just hope for the best, they are doing it for your safety. Odds are with you being able to have it done.

Does it really take 2 years?

Well my advice is to take what you learned the first time around and use it. I feel like my recovery from rny was easier than the band because I knew what to expect. I knew the gas was the worst thing about post op...so by evening of my surgery I was up walking, walking walking I was in the clinic for two days but was asking to be released after one because I was feeling better! At home I walked. I knew warm water goes in when cold does not work. I knew to take my Prevacid. I knew to get my fluid and protein in first and I have been rigidly sticking to plan. And not trying to uneccsarily restrict calories. Rny gives a metabolic reset so I am not going to destroy this new baby metabolism with crash diets like I did the last one. I have observed that many of the vets who lost weight on really restrictive calories guess what..they also have to maintain on really restrictive calories. I know other vets who focused on healthy foods like protein lots of vegetables, healthy fruits, complex carbs if you have room etc.,, they are able to maintain on 1400-1700 a day. That's who's plan I'm following. Now that I have had a malabsorbtive surgery I really have had a mindset change to eating what my body needs, as opposed to eating for entertainment. I don't eat processed food. My filter always is "does this offer me the most nutrition?" I tried to get my calories to 800 as soon as possible (by 2 months). Then to 900 (by 3 months). At six months I'm now between 1050-1100. Still losing...slightly slower but who cares...I'm in this for the long term not the short term.. this one I want to be forever. This is what worked for me. It isn't the only way, of course. But it changed my life. Sorry for the long winded answer.

Can't break this stall...ideas?
Travelher replied to Pam_2-06-2017's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Normally I tell people to ignore the stall because they are normal and expected. But if it has truly been two weeks I would up calories to 900 min...(I lose best between 900-1000). Also track your water. I am at 100oz a day. I have no doubt about water not being my issue. if you make a change, just make one or two small changes and stick it out. Most people make the mistake of making changes every few days and not letting the body adjust. This is my last month, I usually stall twice a month for up to 8 days... -
Thanks. I had rny revision from lapband.

Average weight loss: worth it? Starting to feel discouraged...
Travelher replied to Lauriep's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yep, that is why doctors don't target weights so low. It would put me at 120. At 140 my collar bone sticks out and I get skinny arms. Can't imagine how emaciated I would look at 120 -

I might be crazy. I went skiing 2.5 weeks post op.
Travelher replied to skierChic's topic in The Guys’ Room
Could be doable..not advisable, but Doable. I went apple picking 5 days post op and then cooked thanksgiving dinner. Was fine to do both, able to take rests, breaks. And mad my hubby carry the heavy bags. No I'll effects. Would I have gone skiing? Nope, probably not -

Was your 2nd month slow weight loss?
Travelher replied to janedoe92's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
3lbs/ week is NOT slow, it is fast. I'd kill for that right now. Weight loss happens in drips and drabs...not in a straight line. -
My favorite invention is the fabric tape that you iron on. I order it from amazon by the bucketful. I use it to hem pants (I cut off the extra foot then fold and iron the hem and done)! I also use it with button down shirts so I don't get the boob gap. Love that stuff!

Anyone plan on sleeve and get bypass instead?
Travelher replied to chryss's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Intially was thinking sleeve as well, switched on surgeons advice to bypass. Really happy I did. Mine was a revision from a lap band, I would have been devastated risking yet another revision.
