Now sleeved, in hospital recovering update
Butterflywarrior posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Mostly good .due to pre existing chronic pain issues and being on narcotics, and despite addressing this with surgeon in advance, pain is not being adequately managed. I love my surgeon but I see , in the end, he just doesn't understand pain management in chronic pain patients and I even urged him to talk to my pain specialist. He declined yet he put me on the same dose of pain med he puts any patient on probably figuring my regular maintenance pain med would manage the rest ..it doesn't work that way The surgeon on call is worse. He upped the med by . two!!! And added a pulse ox monitor as if I'm going to stop breathing! Omg Ok rant over ..I've had to hold in the tears to keep from physically stressing my body On the good side, I've walked twice around the floor and I'm I'm a private room I've had visitors, encouraging ones.. so outside of pain, I'm pleased The gas pain though...omg is killing me in the ribs under the breast bone. What's up with that?! Quite miserable No food or liquid yet And I lost 18 lbs on the liquid diet last week!! -

Before I got chronic migraines, I never or rarely experiences nausea but now I get it easily and have a ongoing order for anti emetics even before my sleeve. Lol -

I would report the receptionists to the doctor even though you're welcome here too.just cause they should not be allowed to treat you like this especially under the circumstances it could be dangerous!!

Are you drinking sugar free fluids? Maybe it like me and sensitive to them. I'm allergic to aspartame but sucralose was fine until I needed to drink lotd of it Truvia made me throw up repeatedly... propel Water in the hospital was giving me nausea... I can only handle one premier Protein a day or every other day, sf popsicles by outshine only and Protein powder made with stevia as that is a natural made plant sugar substitute... And reallyy my body would be happier wo the premiere but my insurance paid for it so.i have like four cases of it lol Now I have heard some ppl having horrible nom stop nausea but it often eventually resolves... -

Sleeve surgery and stomach drains
Butterflywarrior replied to Butterflywarrior's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It hurt a little when they took mine out but was do relieved to have it gone. I did not see how big it was bc he kinds had it to the side and quickly threw it away. It kept feeling like it was there for awhile even when it wasn't. I'm glad I didn't have to bring it home in the end -
I'm getting sleeved on the 24th and my surgeon told me that he's moving away from leaving in stomach drains but due to some special circumstances with me, I will have one and be going home with it until my two week post op visit. Anyone else have this...what was it like to take care of? Could they go out? Etc..

Is is necessary to have a blender or really that helpful? When you get to puree stage. Can you eat baby food? I noticed no one ever mentioned this as a option so I figured there must be a reason but I don't know what it it??

maybe ur insurance doesn't cover the zofran odt ...I think that's what they are called that melt under the tongue. They also have promethazine suppositories...not so fun but yeh... Still ask ur pharmacy about the zofran odt and see why you can't get that one ...
