like @@OzRoo said, gas is pumped in ur gut ...gas x is for the bowels and stuff..it doesn't really address that... The nurse told me that ad well . sometimes the docs rx if but it doesn't really work they just want to make the patient happy lol Sighhhhh -

hello, sorry off today but was sorta asked to so thought I would update and say surgery went well, happy to have a private room, gas is killing my chest, walked the floor twice. Nothing by month still and I'm sooo thirsty and they won't even let me use sponge lollipops... I am using mouthwash but it doesn't help much and as per usual they have kinda messed my pain management up. Still overall I'm happy -
Count down begins... surgery tomorrow!

So I'm pensive but happy to start this new chapter in my life. I was throwing up earlier this week due to either truvia or sucralose so I dumped them both from my diet and sticking to Protein powder. I'm so giddy...I guess I need to pack, right? Lol not planning on taking much since the hospital provides most items. Any last minute tips or advice?? -

Pre op diet misery, cheat and allergies
Butterflywarrior replied to Butterflywarrior's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
yes, I found that out the hard way. Tall about gross, I nearly hurled just to look at it lol. I saw some Isopure powder that claimed it goes in hot and cold ..I'm dubious!!! Right now, I'm just blending it in skim milk with a stick blender. Yum the nurse allowed me to have milk bc of all the throwing up etc so I suppose that's nice. -
Pre op diet misery, cheat and allergies
Butterflywarrior posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So my sleeve surgery is Monday but my very limited pre op diet of seven days gas been awful. I knew aspartame gave me mugraines so avoided that ingredient but got primere with sucralose and popsicles with the same as well as crystal light pure made with truvia which is stevia and a sugar alcohol My tummy has been hurting every day. I finally ate a bite of my mom's veggie omelette and was told if my blood sugar went hypo I could eat yogurt so my blood sugar wasn't quite hypo and I had nonfat Greek honey yogurt. Sure felt better but felt so guilty for cheating and like hope I'm not messing up my stomach prep for surgery Last night after crystal light pure, I threw up once with six episodes all this foamy stuff. Sorry tmi. Number two s been all the runs as well so called weight clinic nurse and they are having me quit all artificial sweeteners as they and I feel they are the culprit and allowing me Protein powder...found one with 25grams of protein and sweet with stevia which is a nature made plant and I can have it in skim milk!!!! Yay So stomach is already way happier and tge Protein Powder taste good not chalky Anyone else with similar problems... cheating, malabsorption??etc?? -

Whoo hoo so excited!! -
I really hope you are getting psychological assistance with this eating disorder...as I'm sure you know WLS repairs the stomach not the mind and your at risk for developing other eating issues as well. I mean this in all kindness. Im truly concerned with your well-being and wonder if you disclosed this problem in yr psych evaluation? Anyways, I know I deal with some emotional eating issues which is not as intense as binge eating but I see a psychologist and he helps me alot. I get sleeved tomorrow.

Well i see them Thursday and I am hoping they will say they'll do the surgery in a couple weeks. Sent from my SM-J110M using the BariatricPal App idk if this is common for not but when my surgeon said I could schedule, tgey got me on the calendar within a month and I pushed it out some from the earlier dates they gave me so if your place is like my place, you won't have a long wait.I hope not. I am so ready!! I'll find out more Thursday. Wish me luck Sent from my SM-J110M using the BariatricPal App I totally wish you well! Good fortune!!

"Whit flag"? "Surrender"? Dramatic much? Girl, if you let someone's recount of their actual experience stress you out before you've even started, you're in for a long haul when post surgical hormones start surging. I wish you well. why am I not surprised to receive one more snide remark from you? So you really wish me well or was that sarcasm too? I mean I was taking dramatic license in waving the white flag...I was trying to be a little funny..like let bygones be bygones? But if course you had to take that and rip it up to just cause I have a different opinion from you And no, as a ptsd survivor, this is not "all" it takes to stress me out however, bc of my anxious nature, not that you care, it doesn't take much to put me on edge and since I have surgery around the corner, I was just stating that.... I was only trying to make peace and I had hoped that would be kindly accepted, not poked at.. Why am I not surprised that I am not allowed to wish you well without being accused of sarcasm? You've twisted my words from the very beginning of this thread and you will until you have the very last word. So, have at it. I have no desire to take that away from you. Are you familiar with how to block people? Go up to your name in the top right corner, click manage ignore preferences and add my name. You won't see another one of my posts unless you look for it. I have a feeling that simple action will relieve a lot of your stress. Again. I sincerely wish you well. in that case, I'm sorry... it felt like you were picking on my post. I guess in overly sensitive. Thank you for the well wishes I don't like to block people unless they are like idk making passes at me or cussing me out lol. I believe in second chances. Peace? -
Yay you!!! So you have to get a surgery date and do pre op testing...the surgery itself is supposed to be 1.5-2 hours on average plus recovery time unless you end up needing hernia repair too. I read a thread in this done time ago and everyone that posted had different times...it was amazing but the mist common was 3 hour total including recovery
-
My biggest piece of advice - but one of everything. Even if you loved it preop. And then, 2 weeks later your tastes will change. So hold off in giant jars, etc.I've read that..ty for the reminder too....I'm glad I didn't but a few boxes of preimere protein bc tge sucralose is already making me sick and I'm still pre op until tomorrow!!! I've been holding my mom off on buying things! Lol

You mean surgery time or to get approved??
