6 months diet with dr
QueenOfTheTamazons replied to manda101's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your supposed to be on a diet, therefore lose weight, but since your bmi is on the low side of borderline you might want to have an "off the record" conversation with your surgeon about weight loss during this period. It would suck for you to go gangbusters on the supervised diet and make yourself ineligable. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16 -

OMG red meat
QueenOfTheTamazons replied to The New Kel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im the exact opposite. I can handle ground or finely chopped beef, but not steak. The few times I have tried a bite of my husbands at resturant, i always have issues. He just looks at me with a half pity/half resigned look and hands me his napkin so I can spit it out. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16 -
Thats why I advocate getting your CBD meds from a medical marijuana source. There are several strains that have been cultivated specifically for patients looking for high CBD meds. I personally believe its a brtter source than those made from hemp. Rep clubs also lab test the buds so you know what percentage thc/cbd it is and that they dont have any molds/bacteria/toxins in it. Cheap weed is cheap for a reason. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16

Dear body, You sir, are an a*****e. If you are going to act like one, could you use yours more? I dont appreciate being woken up at 6am (after going to bed at 1am) with insistant chatter that now is your time to, ahem, "shine" and to have you get all shy when we get there. This waffling is getting annoying and embarassing. You made us late to work twice last week. I know stomach is being a whiney baby and getting all the attention but that doesnt excuse you from doing your job. And your buddy, brain... Just because colon is all like "tada!" at 6am doesnt mean you need to start with a new round of "what do you think about this". You could have quietly gone back to sleep and made everyone happy. Five hours of sleep might seem all fine and dandy now, but later today everyone is going to be cranky. By the way, could you stop asking for stuff that you know is not an option. I am tired of trying to mediate between you, stomach, bank account and doctor. I know that gourmet grilled cheese on artisan sourdough looks delicious, but bank account is not up for spending $30 fon ingredients for a recipe that stomach will take 3 bites of before whimping out and I dont want to hear another "told you so" from doctor. Bank account hates him too. Last not but not least... stomach. I know you got the raw end of this deal but think of it as taking one for the team. Everyone, well except maybe fat, will be better off in the end. You and I are not on the same page right now, but I trying to learn your new language and how you like to be treated... Give me some time! You have been unreasonably persnickity lately and not like there is a manual. To top it off, you keep changing what some of the rules/signals are and what you like/will tolerate on a day to day basis. Work with me buddy! TLDR: Brain, dont be a d**k. Colon, if you're gonna act like an a*****e, the least you can do is use yours. Stomach, make up your mind. Sincerely, The rest of us at Casa de Queenofthetamazons HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) AmeriHealth Caritas insurance
QueenOfTheTamazons replied to jnj701's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was denied a bunch of times with my insurance. I just kept pushing. In the end my letter describing my health issues, family history, ongoing issues because of weight and list of previous weight loss attempts and outcomes, along with my surgeon advocating for me at a peer to peer got me approved. Just keep fighting. I think they all have to deny at least once. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16 -
Post op, PCOS and pregnancy prevention, oh my!
QueenOfTheTamazons replied to recreatingcate's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im on my second round of mirena, 7 years so far. I dont get periods and it was covered by insurance, so no ongoing costs associated with my lady parts. You dont have to have given birth to use mirena. Its more painful to insert (and remove) if you havent, put the pain is mostly pissed of uterus cramps and goes away after a couple of days. For me, it was totally worth it for 5 years of no worries. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16 -
Before & After - 3yrs +
QueenOfTheTamazons replied to mbuczkowski's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You need to look at more than just the regain percentages. They dont give the whole picture. Even a "failure" of 25% regain is still a 75% loss which can make a huge difference in some ones life. For me thats going from 385 to 235. You also need to consider how each surgery fits into your life. I went with the sleeve because 1) the rny can lead to dumping and diarrhea. Having already lived with chronic diarrhea for 13 years, I didnt want to "double down" in that area 2) I was worried about the malnutrtion aspect of the rny 3) Being relatively young, I considering which surgery would be easier to live with for the next 40+ years Rny and DS might lose weight faster but at the 5 year mark the weight loss between the 3 is very similar. Also, I have the option to revise the VSG to a DS if weight loss becomes a problem. Finally, the thought of an unused stomach just chilling in there creeped me out. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) In need of advice
QueenOfTheTamazons replied to Samm2013's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
False positives happen. It could come from the hormones being dumped in your system due to the fat loss. Some women also get bleeding through out pregnacies. Your best bet is to get a blood test to confirm pregnancy and go from there. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16 -

First Day Trip - Need suggestions for care
QueenOfTheTamazons replied to agirlhasnofluff's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I would tell them that you just had surgery and that you are on a medically mandated diet that does not allow for consumption of the types of food provided at their event without significant risk to your health. That you will be bringing your doctor prescribed foods with you and if they have any questions they can contact your lawyer. Risk, prescribed and lawyer tend to get them to back off. What do you drink?
QueenOfTheTamazons replied to shrusara's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I make a "fauxjito". Mint muddled with splenda (or similar) and lime juice and added to Water. You can use club soda if you tolerate the bubbles. Most people cant tell the diff between a real mojito and the fauxjito. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16 -
What Hammer said... plus...If your liver hasnt shrunk enough to make the surgery safe, the surgeon can go "nope!" and close you back up withing doing the sleeve. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16

Gaining weight before surgery
QueenOfTheTamazons replied to tigraq08's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My process took a real long time. I know I gained weight from the time I first started until I finish the prereqs. I didnt gain (but didnt lose) from the time I finished the prereqs until the preop diet. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16 -

QueenOfTheTamazons replied to QueenOfTheTamazons's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I dont really see mych other than a bit more definition at the cheekbones. Thats why I makes these and try to find/use pucs that are shot at the same angle. A decent amount of double chin is gone, lets up it isnt saggy at the end. I am going to need an all over tuck at the end. If I win the lottery I am going to set up a foundation/scholarship/whatever to help people get plastics after WLS. HW 385 SW 359 CW 335 (50lbs down!) Sleeved 10/5/16 -

QueenOfTheTamazons replied to missionslimmom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
