QueenOfTheTamazons replied to BonitaMamiixo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

We hit up of my favorite places in a farewell to junk food tour prior to my two week preop diet. Justin's kitchen for the fried mac and cheese, Cool hand lukes for the fried artichoke hearts, rolls and coconut shrimp, raku sushi for all my favorite rolls... HW 385 SW 359 Sleeved 10/5/16

Does it make me a horrible wife
QueenOfTheTamazons replied to QueenOfTheTamazons's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is a very helpful man's perspective post. Unlike the one calling me a debbie downer with no knowledge. It makes a lot of sense. In general he likes me to do stuff for him that he could easily do for himself, like get a beverage. I havent thought about it from love languages point of view before. You can share my tacoThanks...I love tacos, and since I'm allergic to fish and seafood, this is the best looking fish taco I've ever seen. Haha Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using the BariatricPal App Love it haha. I had to give up shellfish when I had my gallbladder out so I feel your pain. Now if only we could find some healthy goldfish Why did you have to give up fish? Ive had mine out for 10+ years and never had any problems. Is it a side effect? HW 385 SW 359 Sleeved 10/5/16 -

Fuzzy teeth and/or geograpic tongue
QueenOfTheTamazons posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Has anyone else figured out a way to deal with fuzzy teeth? Or dealing with geographic tongue? It seems like no matter how often i brush my teeth they get an icky texture soon after. I am super worried about my breath too. If it feels this gross its got to be rank. HW 385 SW 359 Sleeved 10/5/16 -
Oral thrush
QueenOfTheTamazons replied to saramichelle917's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What does oral thrush look like? Ive had the fuzzy teeth and what was diagnosed as geographic tongue has returned. I have a hard time scrubbing my tongue due to near vomiting from overactive gag reflex. HW 385 SW 359 Sleeved 10/5/16 -
Hi heather! I am in Yuba City, so not too far away. I havent felt isolated yet, mostly because my husband is really helping and i didnt hide my surgery from my coworkers. They are frequently checking up on me. I am a smidge worried about mood swings from the hormone dumps because i am bipolar and already predisposed (hence the crying over ice cream in a previous post). You can always reach out to us here... but make sure that you are not excluding, accidently or on purpose, the people around you that can be your support. HW 385 SW 359 Sleeved 10/5/16

QueenOfTheTamazons replied to olamae's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I woukd suggest asking the ins company what the requirements are and if they would accept preo op requirements done under a different carrier. There is a good chance they will as it would be in their benefit. HW 385 SW 359 Sleeved 10/5/16 -
How can I accelerate weight loss?
QueenOfTheTamazons replied to skinnyjeansatlast's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are doing great! If i were to hit the same percentage of weight loss it would be 70lbs and you would be giving me major high fives! But we would be in exactly the same place. You need to think in terms of percentages rather than pounds. Celebrate those victories when the actual number doesnt feel as big to you. HW 385 SW 359 Sleeved 10/5/16 -

HALLOWEEN COSTUMES?
QueenOfTheTamazons replied to Diva Taunia's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Halloween has always been my favorite holiday and now it's my anniversary as well. It's our first anniversary but probably not going to do anything since I spent our anniversary money on surgery LOL. Next year though , there are going to be some rocking costumes since we will both be close to goal. We got married in Vegas and I want to spend our second anniversary in Vegas again doing all the cool stuff. HW 385 SW 359 Sleeved 10/5/16 -
Medications after Surgery

Does it make me a horrible wife
QueenOfTheTamazons replied to QueenOfTheTamazons's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think part of the clinginess is that he wasnt with me for the surgery. The hospital is 180 miles from our house. It didnt make sense for him to come with me, have the extra expense of a hotel room and boarding our three dogs for him it sit around waiting. It made more sense for him to be around post surgery. Instead he was able to get friday, saturday and sunday off. He drove down to pick me up when i was discharged and was around to haul me off the couch, off the bed, off the toilet (jk on that one). I didnt realize until yesterday how much being on the sidelines (and kinda out of the loop in case something happen) worried him. HW 385 SW 359 Sleeved 10/5/16 -
As for the pills surgeon said no whole pills only crushed. I would much prefer whole pills crushed is nasty. HW 385 SW 359 Sleeved 10/5/16

Not watering down my shakes... watered down juice is a seperate thing. I was given it in the hospital, it was listed as part of my preop and post op plan, and i tolerate it more than crystal light and similar. I have a hard time with plain water, and i am doing 1/4 juice to water to help get liquids down. I find that the fake sugars i was used to dont taste the same anymore. I havent tried tomato... but allergic to mushrooms. Room temp is the hardest for me to get down, prob partially because i hated it prior to surgery. HW 385 SW 359 Sleeved 10/5/16

Can I....
QueenOfTheTamazons replied to MyJourney929's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There are a lot of people who post about inapropriate foods (tacos, pork chops, ice cream cake) and it is frusterating the regulars. Your first resource should be your surgeon, as each if us is on a slightly different plan. After that, search the forums. If you cant find the answer, post a question with enough information that people can actually help you. Otherwise it comes across kind of troll like. -
How far post op are you? Or are you pre op?I was 5 days post op. It wasnt the best descision, but i was tired of everything i ate sitting so painfully in my chest. The fatman part of me was justifying it as similar to milk and the sugar not mattering because i was barely getting anything down. The realization that i could no longer resort to previous comfort measures, the first proof that my tastes had changed and that i had done this to myself, therefore could not blame an outside source or use an outside source for comfort, caused the melt down. Yup, not the best decision at all. How are your foods sitting now? What are you eating? I had a stricture so I had a ton of difficulty eating. I feel you. At your stage, I was still on full liquids. Warm soups were my best bet. What are you not tolerating? What are you tolerating? I still have near constant pressure in my chest, like someone is shoving their fist between my breasts. Dr office says its the acid in my sleeve and its a common issue. Nothing seems to be irratating my sleeve (not even the ice cream) but its hard to keep sipping with the pressure. Especially when i also sometimes get the "pill stuck in your throat" feeling and am having a painful time with hiccups. The omeprozale helps, but the taste and texture of the smashed pills makes me heave. Hopefully this will resolve with liquid omeprozale. I have been drinking premier chocolate, watered down apple juice, sugar free iced tea, hot tea with splenda, the vanilla pudding i brought home from the hospital (its good for getting powdered pills down), Jello, pureed egg drop Soup (dr ok) and broth.

Does it make me a horrible wife
QueenOfTheTamazons replied to QueenOfTheTamazons's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have seen tons of those. We actually met thru the medifast diet website, so losing weight together (and gaining weight together) has always been a part of our relationship. I am not trying to be braggy... i just know that if asked me for as many favors as he is offering i would be getting irratated. I am also kinda worried that he is setting a high bar, one that i will be too cranky to reach when its his turn. -
6 Days Post Op
QueenOfTheTamazons replied to VSGSherry17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Liquid omeprozale has to be made by a compounding pharmacy according to the reseach and pharmacists i have talked to, which is why you need a script. The worst part for me is getting that food/pill caught in your throat felling along with the chest pressure. Pure torture. -

Pain medication
QueenOfTheTamazons replied to itzbrittaanyx3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had half a vicoden once i got home on my 3rd day but nothing since then. I picked up liquid tylenol but havent used it yet. I havent had a solid bm, only diarrhea, but a small amount every day. I have had cronic diarrhea since i had my gallbladder out 13 years ago, so i might be a special case. Lol -
6 Days Post Op
QueenOfTheTamazons replied to VSGSherry17's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have near constant pressure in the center of my chest that is agrivated when i drink anything. My dr office says that it is pretty common and usually is the result of the acid. They recommended any kind of acid reducer that i could tolerate. Omeprozale helps but tbe crushed pills make me gag. I am looking into getting liquid omeprozale, but it requires a prescription even though you can get it otc. I am also 6 days post op. -
It also depends on your surgeon. My surgeon realeased me to full liquids my second day post op and will likely give me the ok for pureed foods on my follow up on the 17th. But that is how he manages his paitents. You should follow your surgeons plans for you as he knows more about your guts than anyone.
