May sound silly but I've only like them after I refrigerate them for a few hours...usually overnight. Makes a big difference. I've also only liked the chocolate and strawberry. Good luck. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App

How much have you lost total? Stalls are normal. Definitely take your measurments. You're most likely losing inches even if the scale isn't moving . When I hit stalls I would try to increase my protein and Water, usually every 4-6weeks. By increasing protein youre increasing calories. That worked for me. However, everyone is different. I respectively disagree with this for a couple of reasons. First and foremost, you are only a few weeks out. Your calorie intake is probably around 500-650 a day. You probably can't get much more in than that. There's no reason for you to increase your calorie intake. Just have patience, eat Protein forward, drink, drink, and drink some more (water) and the magic will happen. Secondly, you are in the honeymoon phase, and only have a few precious months to lose weight easily. Now is not the time to increase calories. At 6 months out, I eat between 650-850 calories, usually closer to 750. That's all I need. I measure everything I eat, and I eat protein first, then a couple of bites of low starch veggies.... it's only occasionally that I even taste something like bread, Pasta, rice, etc. I have to do that because my protein levels were low at my last blood test, and if I don't eat all of the protein first, I can't get enough in.I am also active on another board with a lot of people that are several years out. They all agree that increasing your calories during the losing phase isn't a good idea. Just my humble opinion. You're 6 months out and only eating 750 calories? In my opinion that is way to low for 6 months out. Especially if exercising which is a must during this kind of lifestyle change. However, everyone has different advice and different opinions, as we all see. But again what has worked for me was every 3-5 weeks I increased my fluids and proteins. Proteins aren't calorie free so in doing that you'll increase your calories as well. May just be a 150 calorie increase. Again, this is my opinion and has worked for me. Best of luck. SW 287 CW 208 RNY 8/5/16 Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App If you increase your calories by 150 calories every 3-5 weeks, when are you going to stop? Because in only a few months you will have increased your calories up to an unsustainable amount. The less you weigh, the less calories you will need to continue to lose and/or maintain. A 1200 calorie diet isn't for someone that has had RNY and in active 'loss' mode. Exercise doesn't typically burn as much as most of the electronic gadgets say it does. There is plenty of scientific research to back this up. You can rarely, if ever, out exercise your intake of food. Only VERY aggressive training warrants added calories. You are in the honeymoon phase of your surgery. Yes, exercise is good for your body in many ways, but 95% of weight loss is calories, only 5% is diet. Exercise is to strengthen your muscles, and cardio system, not to lose weight. If you get used to eating more at only 7 weeks out, where will you be in 2 years when your appetite is bigger and your stomach can hold more? You will have a harder time maintaining. I get in no less that 70G of protein a day eating up to 850 calories a day. I eat dense protein so I'm not hungry in between. Or if I do snack, I make good choices like beef jerky, cheese, and other protein intense foods. I'm not perfect by any means, but I learn a lot from people that have been out of this surgery for YEARS, and who are successful. I prefer to learn from someone that has been successful. We can agree to disagree. I do not comment on people's posts to argue. As I said different things work for different people. I simple posted MY opinion, and you are certainly entitled to yours. And seriously at 7 weeks, as the original poster stated she was, you have to slowly increase proteins and calories or time. You didn't start at 850 calories? You slowly increased. It's important to not just focus on the scale but to also take your measurements. If you're exercising your building muscle and burning fat. Muscle weighs more but is half the size. So your measurements may be going down without the scale. Take measurements! Also, when u hit a stall it's a sign to increase fluids and Proteins and calories. Yes, eat more! Stomach growling a lot today
DeeM replied to wyndy1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Unfortunately, i dont think i am. I am getting better but i am definitely nowhere near 64 fluid ounces and 60-80grams of protein daily:( Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Is it a hunger growl? Are you satisfied/full when you eat? Increasing fluids is hard but it helps with healing and weight loss. Do your best to try to get your fluids up. Try different fluids. I like the crystal light fruit punch. Also no sugar added hot chocolate. I add it to 10-12oz instead of the 6oz of Water the box calls for. It helps put me at my fluids goal. Somethings i can drink quickly others not so much. How much protein are you able to get? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App -

Yes! I work on my feet all day. Never had back pain. Thought maybe since losing so much weight, my shoes fit differently causing the pain, so i bought new shoes. Still had pain. But only when on my feet a long time. I'm 12 weeks out. It has gotten a little better. I started strength training. That may be helping too. I can't wait the day it goes away. Good luck with yours. Keep us posted if you find out anything that helps. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App

Bariatric Advantage questions
DeeM replied to Jdserra's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did just read about the B12...you can't take too much. Also, I was told I didn't need to start for a couple weeks after surgery. And, you'll need to time your Vitamins, you can't take them all at once. Kind of a pain. I sometimes forget. I eat Breakfast...wait 1 hour take multi, wait one more hour take calcium citrate, wait about 30 minutes take b1 and b12. Then after lunch....one hour take multi and another hour take calcium citrate. At bedtime I take the Iron. I wonder if anyone else does this. I was told you'll get sick if you take them to close together. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App -

Dumb question I know. Lol. So I need to definitely get myself some B1. Thank you for the response. Lol. You had me go and look. It sure does. My dr told me to take the B12. Now I'm gonna have to check back to see if it's still needed. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App -

How do you get out of a stall?
DeeM replied to ZoeGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with inner surfer girl...need to make sure your following your program. With that said, what I have read and what has worked for me is your body will have stalls every 4-5 weeks. Your losing alot of weight quickly and your body plays catch up. What has worked for me through these stalls was to increase fluids and Protein. BUT everyone is different. Good luck. Adding strength training to my routine
DeeM replied to DeeM's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Thanks for your feedback. I'm gonna try to get more fluids. I kinda think that is my main problem. Good luck to you too. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App -
Need some advice. I'm about 12 weeks out RNY. I've been doing great with my weight loss and with walking everyday. I decided to add strength training to my routine twice a week. I feel great but have also been feeling exhausted- if that makes sense. Lol I'm having a hard time with fluids. I work a fast pace job and barely able to drink 12-oz during my work day. Then pushing fluids after work isn't easy either. Might get 36oz a day...52oz on strength training days. Im sure this could this be causing exhaustion. I'm getting about 800+ calories most days. My question is...my trainer wants me to increase carbs...good carbs...for working out. Is this something I should do? I'm kinda panicked about adding carbs. Anyone have any advice for diet during hard workout days? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App

Adding strength training to my routine
DeeM replied to DeeM's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Thank you. Yes, I informed her of my surgery. And she is a friend of mine as well so I know she is looking out for my best interests. I just don't know if she knows enough about the diet for someone who has had this surgery. She explained the reason behind adding carbs. She suggested eating 25g of carbs an hour and a half before workouts. So I either eat oatmeal or I have a KIND bar and a protien shake 1-2 hours before workouts. Guess its time to make an appt with my NUT. I know I need to increase fluids. I'm really trying. So, did you just focus on protein when working out? I'm actually getting 80+ on workout days. Did you have any issues with being tired/exhausted? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using the BariatricPal App -

chicken chili. Its hard to make small amounts of any soups so i freeze mine in ice cube trays then packaged in freezer for later. 1lb ground chicken, 1 larger can kidney Beans (I like lots of beans), diced onion, tomato sauce, chili seasoning. I put the recipe into my fitness pal app it was 42 calories per 1/4 cup and almost 5g Protein. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T377A using the BariatricPal App
