You know you lost weight when

When you have to sit on a pillow because your booty hurts
  3. I had to increase my protein with food. For three months after surgery I couldn’t stomach the shakes. They all tasted chalky to me You are very welcome. My doctor suggested 60g for me
  4. Before surgery I was drinking Unjury or Ensure protein. After surgery my taste changed. I couldn’t drink either one. After a couple of months I found Lean 25 at GNC. I love them. I got my sister hooked on them too
  5. I took a stool softener and fiber pills for a few months.
  6. I didn’t do anything special
  7. My starting weight was 257 Surgery Weight was 236 Current weight : 174

    HERE WE GO

I’m doing great. How are you
  10. It depends on my day or mood. Also depends on if I’m at work. Work days I eat at 6:45am. I eat protein first. That could be a yogurt or egg or oatmeal or even chicken. Lunch I can eat a salad or chicken and a vegetable and same for lunch. I eat my last meal around 7 or 8pm. I eat three meals and two snacks. I have coffee early in the morning. Small portions are s key. I do cheat sometimes. I don’t deprive myself of anything. I have my lemon drop cookies. I even have my chicken strips from Popeyes. My cat [emoji250] helps me eat those. Lol

You know you lost weight when

When you go to your orthopedic surgeon office and the doctor and medical assistant says WHERE IS THE OTHER HALF OF YOU. LOL [emoji23]
  12. Congratulations!! It’s normal for the hair to come out. Mine started at three months out. It grew back thicker which is a good thing. I take all my vitamins and biotin too. Some people get lucky and don’t have hair loss. When you have a stall, your body is playing catch up. Don’t stress over it. It’s normal too. If you continue to stall try increasing your protein. I had do this. Hope this helps
  13. I think I have a stall every couple of months. It’s very normal. My first stall was at a month out. Body was playing catch up. The second stall I had to increase my protein to break the stall. I’m a slow loser also
  14. I can only eat 4oz or 5 oz about every three hours now. At first I could only eat a few teaspoons of food. At about two months I was up to 2 1/2 oz of food. So for the life it should be about 4 to 5 oz.

I'm 6 months out today. All I've been wearing are leggings and shirts. I bought one pair of jeans. I'm in a size 14 jeans. I did have to buy new uniforms for work. Lol
  17. HW: 257 SW: 236 CW: 185 GW: 150 I'm getting there slowly but that's fine with me. Taking it one day at a time I'm 5 1/2 months post op. I use to complain about walking. Now if someone asks let's walk then I say let's go.

    Worst Experience so far?

Four months out: Constipation Wanting to get of the cpap machine Morning dizziness(I don't know why but it goes away fast) Being cold all the time Vomiting because my stomach didn't like something one week and loved a couple of weeks later High sense of smell

Odd words of wisdom from Mom.

  22. I was sleeved on December 2nd. I remember waking up when my coworkers called my name at 8 pm. I asked them were my sister was. They found her. Then my bladder decided to kick in after the left. My nurse wanted me to walk to the bathroom. I made a deal that the next time I would walk to the bathroom. Needless to say I didn't go on the bedpan. At 10 pm I was out the bed walked to the bathroom. Oh I hit the pca pump before going to the bathroom. From then on I was walking to the bathroom. They had me on the pca pump. Right now I can't remember the name of the other pain med that was given. My pain was well managed. I didn't have the gas pain. My nurse said it was probably because I moved around so much while I was in bed. I walked around on and off. I stayed in the hospital for one day. You will be cold after surgery. Once I got home I only took extra strength Tylenol for pain. Only exercise I did walk around my apartment the first six weeks. Week 7 I was at the gym. I was constipated. TMI. Lol. I talk stool softeners and that helps. My hot flashes went on vacation for six weeks. Now my body can't decide if it wants to have a hot flash or a cold flash. I weigh myself every two weeks. I had a stall the first month. I'm losing slowly but that's ok with me. Keep gas x strips handy. Keep you blanket close by Take it one day at a time Don't weigh yourself every day or you will go nuts Walk, walk, walk Sugarfree popsicles can be your best friend I hope this helps

    Any nurses who got sleeved?

I'm a nursing assistant. I took 6 weeks off. I had the sleeve on December 2nd. Although I took that time off, the first few days were rough. About the third or fourth day it got better. I work on an Antepartum unit. By the way you will be cold after surgery.
