Adhesive reaction
lalame replied to depressed_bandster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeved 9/6/16! The same thing happened to me. My doctor ended up giving me hydrocortisone with a steroid in it and it went away. Nothing else worked. Good luck -
Ladies PMS Question... Help...
lalame replied to Yosy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
sleeved 9/6/16. Always extremely heavy with heavy clotting before surgery. Post was light for the first month then back to normal with less clotting. I found that Barlean’s evening primrose oil capsules helped tremendously with cramping. Read into it. It works. -
What to use besides Advil
lalame replied to catalinaS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctors office told me I can take Advil as long as it’s in gel form. Ask. I do it only when i need it. Tylenol doesn’t work for me. Sleeved 9/6/16. CW155 Lost 122 -
Challenges transitioning from liquids
lalame replied to OscarsMom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeved September of 2016. The best way for a smooth transition is not to rush into the next steps. Liquids go to thicker liquids ( protein drinks, yogurt, apple sauce, pudding), to soft foods. I survived on refried beans, soft scrambled eggs. A lot of ideas for your stages on Pinterest. Good luck . -
You are amazing!

I was sleeved September of 2016. I still have them. Not as bad but still have them.

What was your first CHRISTMAS after WLS like?
lalame replied to dreamingsmall's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sleeved 9/16/16. I had and will have again turkey and gravy. Veggies. I tried a tiny amount of stuffing with gravy and turkey and mixed it. Was great. Christmas: holiday meat/fish/ veggies Some egg nog. No bread/no pasta -
Premier protein was my go to drink. Pinterest has great recipes for premier protein shakes. I am a year and two months post surgery and I can't drink them anymore. The smell makes me nauseous.

Can sugar substitutes be avoided?
lalame replied to gotime0810's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I didn't want them. Everything seemed so sweet after I started introducing more foods into my diet. I don't think you will want or need sweeteners or sugars. Taste buds changed drastically for me. Sleeved 9/6/16 SW 267 CW 150 -
I had the same thing happen. I had an allergic reaction to the glue. I tried everything for the itch. The only thing that helped was a prescription hydrocortisone cream with a steroid in it. Good luck Sleeved 9/6/16 -267 CW 150

Yes, I did. I had an allergic reaction to the glue they used. The only thing that worked was a prescription of a hydrocortisone cream with a steroid in it.

Robe to walk around in. The staff makes you walk around the floor to move your body and it's cold.

lalame replied to PepperCat's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I agree genepro. I found it on a recommendation almost a year ago on this site. If you do a search of unflavored protein powder you will be able to read recommendations from other sleevers on this site. Good luck. -
Stomach pain at 6 weeks out?
lalame replied to Iwanttofitinmyweddingdress's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The first looks like mine did. I ended up having an allergic reaction to the glue they used. It was itchy and red. The 2nd picture you should have checked as soon as possible. My incisions weren't covered. Could get infected. Good luck to you. -

September 2016 Post VSG Updates
lalame replied to Shell Renewed's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi, I was sleeved 9/6/16 and I ended up with low iron. Mine was at 11. I was taking all my supplements, spacing the calcium and iron every two hours. I still ended up with a severe iron deficiency which according to my surgeon it's not common for sleeve procedure. I had no energy. I ended up having iron infusions. Worked. I have a ton of energy. This was 2 months ago and my numbers are up. I get more blood work done and to see if I need another infusion. You may need to do that. Good luck -
@Loviedovie I made a recommendation on one of your other posts. Can't prevent it from happening just take sips and protein and I also bought a hair fiber filler powder that you can put in the thinning areas on Amazon. Helped so much.
-
Oops also bought hair fiber powder. It's a filler you can put in the places that you fill are thinner. Really works and gave me some me confidence. Got it on Amazon

If you search this site and enter hair loss you will find so much information on it and all the different experiences people have had with it. Everyone is different and it is going to happen. Sleeved 9/6/16 and my hair fall out just slowed down. About 50% has fallen. I bought a natural shampoo for thinning hair so it's gentle on what I have left. I would stay away from the chemical shampoos that promise hair growth and take your supplements and protein. I also added evening primrose (capsule) to my Supplement routine. It has helped me. My doctor said when your body goes into shock and is deprived of nutrition for long periods of time you hair will fall. Once it stabilizes it stops. Good luck to you.
