Had surgery on the 11th... I won't lie. It was not a good experience. Dr casually mentioned he nicked my liver... spend 2 days in a hotel room feeling like I was going to die the pain was so bad. Had a drain in. Passed some God awful used motor oil looking bile... thank God the drain was there for that... still feeling a little rough, it's slowly getting better. I'm new here, so glad I found this forum. I've been excited and looking forward to my surgery scheduled for November 11th...until today. I'm really emotional and having a melt down. I've had several surgeries, so that's not the issue. Just hearing and reading post op horror stories. Family and friends are concerned, of course that this is a drastic move to lose weight. I need to lose about 75-80 lbs that I've been battling with for almost 10 years now. I'm over it! I'm trying to read as much as I can and watch YouTube videos about VSG to educate myself and feel confident that this is the best decision for me. Wow it's been a rough couple of days. The green stuff Dr decided is old bile. He nicked the underside of my liver... lucky me. I have my drain in for another 2-3 days. Still running a low grade fever but he said that will get better also. I have 10 pounds of Fluid in me and feel really swollen, plus gas pain but no nausea!!!! Just taking it one day at a time. I still have my Drain in, had sleeve surgery Friday morning. The pain has been unreal. My discharge has turned from light fruit punch color to an oily dark green. Seeing Dr in the morning. Also running a fever of 100.3. Been miserable. Sipping on Water, Gatorade, herbal tea and bone broth. Taking Percocet 10 trying to keep the pain under control and Gas X. I'm on day 6 of clear liquid diet. Sleeve Surgery is on Friday! There's been some rough moments, but I've toughed it out and all I can say is Protein shakes and organic BONE BROTH!!! The sugar free Jello popsicles are a life saver. Cold, crunchy and sweet gives you the sense of eating. I've lost 15 pounds in the last 7 weeks. But most of it was this week. Ready to get this done! Thank you so much!!! I'm not banking out. I'm feeling much better about it. I had foot/ankle and leg surgery in July and still struggling with the pain from that. Hi! Well my surgery date is 11/11. I've been really positive and excited about it, but today I'm feeling really emotional and having a melt down. Family and friends are worried about me having complications and I keep hearing about and reading scary, negative things about VSG.
