rolosmom7 replied to Alexis99's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I have a 24oz cup at work - must finish one cup before lunch, one cup before Ieave. Then a cup after dinner gets me to 64+ -
I eat p3s and they have nuts. No issues after 2 months.

When you lose weight rapidlt the hormones that are store in the fat cells come out, and basically dump into your system
-
I was going to try 2 bites or so if stuffing. Will definitely skip the bread to have a few more bites of turkey! ☺

Anything cooked in a crock pot that is basically so tender, it falls apart. As suggested, roast is good as is chicken or pork. People also do a mexican.layer dip which is transitional, ground beef then refried beans with guacamole, sour cream, salsa, cheese, anything else you'd like. Just eat it with a spoon and give the chips to the family.

Does anyone regret having surgery?
rolosmom7 replied to katragina's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In my diet I am supposed to be on regular soft foods. When I do eat I only ever eat chicken noodle Soup or some other mostly liquid soup. I also found added more foods was making it worse. I can't stand Protein shakes because everything is so sweet. I've tried a few different unflavored ones and it's obvious it's in there. I was always really easily grossed out and now it's multiplied times 100. I feel like I'm pregnant with awful morning sickness. I spoke to the doctor today who says they don't think anything is wrong on the inside and they believe it's just taking me longer to heal. I asked if it was possible I had a small issue that isn't showing symptoms and they said. It likely. So they are prescribing another medication and more zofran. The new medication is supposed to make it easier for my esophagus to let me eat and drink. Let's see how this works. Im waiting for the pharmacy to call. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Hi there - I don't know your body or your plan but I'd try going back to puree/mushies. You may just be eating too much too soon. Chicken may not be tolerable yet, nor noodles. I'm sure you're sick of broth so try cream of mushroom, broccoli cheddar, and the like. If the chunks bug you, puree them but hopefully they won't at 4 weeks. There are some other recipes like ricotta bake, refried Beans, etc that might be easier on you and prevent the nausea. Best wishes! -

How long did it take for you and others to notice a physical change
rolosmom7 replied to ThisIsIt1984's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Haven't noticed yet! I've lost 50 pounds in 2 months, but most of my clothes still fit. I see no difference, and no one who doesn't know about the surgery has said anything. So, who knows? I'm 5'10 and carry weight well so that might have something to do with it. 310 down to 260. -
And then, this happened...

Would You Now Date Someone Over Weight?
rolosmom7 replied to GourmetH20's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No, I wouldn't. But not because of looks - I much prefer intelligence. That person wouldn't have the lifestyle I'm after. I'm married and don't care what my husband weighs, he's slightly overweight but it's never had any bearing on how much I love him. But if I were single, I'd want a partner in crime for this new lifestyle as opposed to someone who would be ordering fried cheese sticks and buffalo wings just to get the party started. -
Shame on me for not posting this yesterday - just wanted to send a HUGE thank you to any of you who are veterans or family members of veterans. We owe you such a debt of gratitude! A sincere thank you from a Navy wife!

Stop when full, or push on to get required protein in - confused
rolosmom7 replied to trekker954's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I like the liquid shots when I travel, small and easy to bring with me. It's hard to predict what you're going to eat day to day when away. I have protein shots and they taste horrible. I'm honestly not sure how you guys do it. More power to you!! -

This thread is fantastic. Thank you @@Hammer_Down -
There is a member who is continually calling people a b****. It's honestly not cool at all. I've gotten a lot of help from said "meanies" - personally, I appreciate their knowledge and willingness to share experiences. My opinion - if you don't like a thread or post, just move along. So in conclusion - thank you to the "meanies" I've learned a lot from you.

Does anyone regret having surgery?
rolosmom7 replied to katragina's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Can I ask what you regret specifically? Meaning, what aspect of life post surgery creates the biggest amount of regret? Is it the difficulty eating? I struggle because my life is all about food now. Food and Water. Every minute I have to be eating or drinking something, or depriving myself of drinking something so I can eat something shortly. lol! I find that to be the unexpected biggest daily hurtle. I thought I would be fine with it, When I did my 16 months on a liquid diet I didn't struggle with it at all. I realize now that's because I always knew in the back of my head it wasn't permanent. The list of specifics are too long to mention but I agree with you regarding the constant focus on eating and drinking. I was discussing this with my dietician this week. The part of dieting that I disliked was having to focus on food constantly. And now I still have to think about exactly what I am going to eat and drink and when. I have alarms set on my phone to take all my Vitamins, to keep hydrated and to eat and drink. I am malnourished, weak and dizzy. My GERD had worsened, I have had to have my PPI increased. I am losing my hair in big clumps and the hair that is left has broken off at the crown. My skin is hanging off my body and I have lost most of my muscle mass. My eyebrows are dropping out too. But I'm not fat anymore, and to some people, that's all that matters. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I have lost over 100lbs now but the health problems I have acquired post op means that I can't enjoy any benefits of being lighter. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I'm sorry Are they surgery related? Yes Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I'm sorry. Hope it gets better for you! -

I think it might just be how our mamas made us. I've lost 50 pounds and am down 1 jean size (and they're tight). I don't think my butt and hips are going anywhere anytime soon. Different people just carry it differently.
