    September Sleevers!

Haha, I have also been craving a deli sandwich.
  2. Thanks! No offense to anyone here but I'm not the kind of person who can just relax and heal. I'm the kind of guy who will seriously over do things if left to myself. For me I just need to push myself. Obviously my motivation was to enjoy my beautiful wife. She is a strong motivator! Update in case it helps anyone - surgery 9/15, went back to work Tuesday the 27th. Kicked my @$$ (I have a desk job). Did my half day, half day Wednesday, and am now working from home in my bed. I should've taken the remainder of this week off, I highly suggest at least 2 weeks off. I'm a workaholic, but just couldn't hang.

    Before Your Surgery Suggestion!

There was a good link going around in one of the threads. I'll see if I can find it.

    For the ladies...

You've had it rough. :-(. Have you looked into ablation? I'm off my BC pills for surgery and am a miserable b***h already- I can't imagine what I'll be like for pre-op diet and post-op. Yes I have looked at ablation. I'd have to travel to a specialist, but probably next year. I refused to go off bcp. The risk was worth it for those 2 pain free weeks. Hang in there girl!!

    Puke

It had mayo ???? I think I'm just going to delay on the mushies until Saturday or Sunday. I'll definitely keep the sauce in mind. I want to try the ricotta bake, maybe it will go down easier with extra sauce.

    For the ladies...

I have endometriosis, and haven't had a period in 2 years due to continuous BCP. Well, surgery said a big F you to that - I've had it for about 10 days now, I'm guessing all the estrogen in the fat is pissing my endometriosis off. It is horrible pain, and in the same region of my incisions and pouch on top of it! ????

    Puke

I'm pretty sure this tuna is going to hang out for awhile. I'll be delaying mushies a few more days. This is horrible!!!

    Puke

Tuna is doing this to me right now! It was chopped up and blended! Ahhhh!

    Sipping vs. Gulping

I do that too, even with food as I'm getting accustomed to small bites
  10. So I know it's always sip, sip, sip. But I felt like I couldn't ever ever hit fl oz goals with that. I was getting really dehydrated. To prevent dehydration, I started taking a "gulp" - more like a normal swallow and it gave some pressure but I could finally get 40oz in. Still working on that 64. Is this damaging to my sleeve? I can find tons of food info and common sense tells me Water can't hurt me but just want to see if anyone else has had experience here?

    Before Your Surgery Suggestion!

Thanks. I searched cookbook on here and Dummies kept coming up. At $10 I'll go with that one [emoji4]

    Before Your Surgery Suggestion!

Just looked up that book. Pretty pricey @ $48 - how good is it? Anyone have other good book/cookbook recommendations?
  13. I'm adding unjury unflavored to everything. Hope it helps.

    Sipping vs. Gulping

Thanks. It can be uncomfortable, but being dehydrated is more uncomfortable.
  15. I also had only 1 meal and 1 snack. The struggle is real.
  16. I just went back to work today, sleeved 9/15. Omg am I EXHAUSTED. Only half a day at my desk job, but I work in a big corporate building and am up and around walking to and from meetings in a mile long building. I have a huge event Thursday at the convention center starting at 630am that I'm so worried about. Can't eat the boxed lunch and it has been an exhausting event in prior years in 100% health.

    Before Your Surgery Suggestion!

It makes me sad as well. I have a guidebook that's about 300 pages. I had multiple appointments with my surgeon, nut, bariatric therapist, my normal therapist, etc before I could go under. I even had to attend the monthly nutrition support group before. Information on the Internet, like with all things, is 50% wrong. I've found a ton of info here - more practical for use than a guidebook, but I still know the right things to look for. Hopefully other people benefit from all the knowledge here. Not mine, I'm only 2 weeks out. Many on here are much more helpful ????

    September Sleevers!

Girl I think we all have the same fears. I had a low BMI sand did the sleeve to prevent the yoyoing. I have the same fear that it won't work on me either. I actually almost convinced myself I would be the one this wouldn't work for. LOL it's working and you will see that you won't be hungry all the time. Hang In there- Girl my family took me to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch the day after I got sleeved. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App That's so mean ????

    September Sleevers!

I had mashed potatoes tonight. I just think about upping the thickness each time.
  20. i just had appointment with my dietition today...she said at 4 weeks out it is average to do 400-600 calories but by week 8, i should be at 700. i am at 4 weeks out and getting between 400-600 calories. i have been tired alot too, besides flintstone chewable Vitamin, and chewable calcium, she also recommended at least vitamin d, 2000 ius...at 4 weeks out i can do gummies or the soft gel vitamin d...this will help with tiredness. Sent from my SM-S820L using the BariatricPal App That's good to see. I'm 2 weeks out and get about 250.
  21. I do as well, and can no longer take celebrex. It was fine with the surgery pain meds the 1st week when I was taking them. It's hit me like a truck now - and gabapentin is a massive pill to swallow. I also have endo which has gone HAY WIRE. Sent from my SM-T550 using the BariatricPal App
  22. You won't be hungry. My nut told us this, but I didn't believe it. I have a 300 page manual - I was prepared. So prepared, we have enough Jello until 2020. I thought I'd be starving and need it all. Sent from my SM-T550 using the BariatricPal App
  23. I'm at 29 pounds lost between preop optifast and 11 days post op. 19 of it in the 11 days.

    4, 3, 2, 1

Go liquid asap - you'll need to for the post op as well. Protein shakes, SF Jello, Water (lots and lots), no sodium. SF popsicles. It will also help get your body ready for the 7-10 days after your op. Good luck!
