  1. Aside from the daily dose of humor I get out of this forum (which is excellent) - if you are wanting crunch, I've just been approved for "all" food. The quest protein chips definitely get me the crunch, give me the fullness of protein, and I can eat 1/3ish of the bag. That being said - I'm not sure how healthy they are, but has to be better than ritz crackers.
  2. Yep, I sure did. Sometimes I still do (1mon out). It's lessening - but regret is a very normal feeling. All the vets say it goes away so I just focus on today! But you're not alone. Just don't let it get the best of you!
  3. Just hang in there - do you have a ppi (acid reducer) you take? It can mimic the feeling of hunger if not. One day at a time - definitely don't let your head win. Leaks are horrible.

    2 days until mushy foods

I don't suggest it - leaks are horrible things. One day at a time and you'll get there ????

    Pureed foods

Shelly's pot roast tossed in the food processer over about 2 spoons of mashed potatoes

    Period question ?

It seems like a lot of blood loss, but your body makes up a lot of it daily (maybe even all of it). You're losing a lot less than you'd think.

    Period question ?

Same problem - i have endometriosis and I've been bleeding almost a month now... and I'm on continuous bcp. It sucks. My obgyn said it isn't harmful and I just have to get through it. But my endo is rearing it's ugly head and this is the WORST period I've ever had - insanely heavy.

    Pretty diet

The liquid preop diet serves 2 functions - shrink your liver, and get you prepared for post op. You'll want to get your bpdy accustomed to it. I could have cucumber, celery, and sugar free popsicles during mine, plus 5 Optifast products. It wasn't terrible at all after the first few days. I'd suggest some kind of liquid, high Protein diet or you may struggle more post op.

    Trouble

I mean, this certainly is NOT a healthy recommendation, but if you're that concerned, if you eat/drink more calories than you burn you'll gain back weight. You're 10 days away, so maybe bulk up the calories just for a few. But again - not the healthiest thing. Sometimes we gotta do what we gotta do.

    Dry mouth

It's very common. Biotene mouthwash should help, you can get it at Target, CVS, etc.

    Me again

If you have a sonic near you, get a large cup of ice. They have pellet ice - it's really easy because it melts faster than ice chips. Dehydration does a lot of bad things that will make you feel like crap. There's also OTC nausea meds geared to pregnant women - can't recall the brand, but maybe look that up if you can't get the rx. Good luck! ❤

    Newbie questions sleeved 10/12

I tried a lot of drinks to get my water in - powerade zero, g2, infused lemon water, vitamin water zero. Tart things worst best, I've found fake sugar tastes even more sickly sweet. Buy 1 or 2 of each and just keep trying them. I'm a month out and still figuring that part out.
  13. That's 4th on my list of protein supplements/shakes to try. I'll get there eventually! I like Optifast best honestly, but not enough protein compared to others.

    Noodles

I'm definitely going to try them. My husband is here and wil eat extras. Thanks everyone!
  15. Hi all, I'm on stage 4 now - slowly making the transition off mushies. So I take several "meals" to work since I never know what my sleeve will like. Tried dried apricots this morning. They went down fine, but now have serious heartburn (I take a PPI and haven't had a problem with heartburn thus far). Anyone know if dried fruit is ok? I'm 4 weeks out.

    Noodles

I love 'em! I don't even miss Pasta anymore. I don't care for them boiled (too mushy) but sautee them with some garlic and olive oil until they are barely al dente. Serve with your favorite sauce and viola! I got a little cheapo spiralizer from Bed, Bath and Beyond. I'm going to try sweet potatoes next and bake them for a spin on sweet potato fries! Yumm! I might have to invest in a spiralizer.

    September Sleevers!

A really good mushy recipe for me was Shelly's pot roast with mashed potatoes - it makes a TON but your family can eat it. I added mushrooms. Tossed in the blender, a few tbsp of potatoes and a few tbsp of meat. Best mushy recipe for me!

    Dried fruit?

Yep. Dried apricots from TJs. They were in the pantry, and portable. 100cal for 5 seemed like an ok snack (can't eat enough yet for fresh fruit, half of it goes bad - unfortunately). But. They definitely didn't feel nice in my tummy. So I'll put them on hold for awhile. [emoji4]

    Dried fruit?

Yep - string cheese is my new BFF. Tried a turkey/cheese rollup, didn't go so well. Love hummus - need a good thing to dip because I don't love it from a spoon. Lots of Greek yogurt too. I'm definitely regretting the dried fruit. Seemed so innocent, wasn't on my "naughty" list. Still trying to stop the slimies. Yuck yuck yuck.
  22. There's recipes on the unjury site. Haven't done any with the chicken, but put the unflavored in anything I can. Specifically Jello.
