    Bless your heart. Too funny. I agree, people piss the opportunity away - over things like a freaking mini Halloween candy. Uhhh... ok.
  2. Careful with raisins! I only say this because I had a horrible time with dried apricots - hard to digest. I had a second surgery 5 weeks after my sleeve for female concerns - and haven't lost or gained since. (2 weeks). Who knows - I just keep following my plan. Best of luck - hang in there!
  3. Also agreed - I would never leave a 50 cent tip. Even at buffets or order at the counter places, etc I always leave $1 per person and $1 for the table. Minimum. And that's at places you aren't even expected to tip.My first experience going out to eat post surgery was a week ago, to my favorite little restaurant here in town. I ordered the boiled chicken potstickers and my husband ordered a regular meal and some beer. The waitress was so incredible sweet. She came back to check on us and saw I had only eaten one and a half of the 6 potstickers. And noticed that I had pretty much dissected the things trying to get to the meat inside. the waitress asked me if the potstickers were OK. I said yea they were great (even though my sleeve was not tolerating the seasoning..not her fault). She looked a bit concerned but wasn't nosey or over questioning. When the bill came she smiled and gave us a coupon for 20 percent off, saying that next time she hopes I find something that pleases me more. It was actually a really nice gesture. Unrelated, but I love potstickers. I pull the excess dough off and eat mainly the insides. Yummy.
  4. This brings back my only truly awkward/shocked/speechless moment. I had just been cleared for soft foods and I went to the market's salad bar to get my teeny tiny lunch. At that time, I was especially fond of their chicken salad and their seafood salad. I got MAYBE two tablespoons of each in the salad bar container (knowing I would take half home) and went to the register. The cashier, a big girl herself, looked at me (remember, I was just about 6 weeks post op and still quite the fatty) and said, "Girl! You know you eat more than that! Who you trying to fool??" in the loudest voice. And yes, everyone in line turned to look at me and my pathetic salad. I was hormonal, stressed at the idea that any food I ate still came back up because of my stricture, and absolutely floored that anyone would say something like that. I barely held my **** together, told her I had stomach cancer and moved on through. She's not looked at me in the eye since. I have very similar stories - no one quite so rude, but a comment every time I put my salad on the scale. Yes, it's 3 small pieces of chicken, an egg, and veggies. Yes, it weighs 0.3 of a pound. Stop the comments about "that's just your snack right?". NO! Now stop making a comment about everything, charge me my $1 and change for the salad and go about your day. This guy just asked if my calamari salad was my snack on the elevator. Why do people think they can just ask strangers anything they please? RUDE.

    Walking the dogs

    I have 2 minis. 12 and 15 pounds. A - they're jumpy and hard to get on the leash. B - they're tiny but mighty, everything feels more strenuous after surgery (initially). If my husband is home, he can help me handle them. Otherwise, they roam the backyard. It's excellent if you can do it but I'd have a back up plan
  7. # 1 rule - buy one of everything. Some weeks it's great then the next day it's horrid. Ok, maybe not # 1 but ... pretty close.

  9. I have no idea, but I'll post in solidarity. I work 9-10 hours a day. I eat a Protein bar that takes me from 830-10 to consume. I eat a bit of chicken and veggies from the salad bar, and a snack at about 330. Then dinner around 6. I don't eat enough calories or protein. So I'm open to the suggestions that pop up here!

    Umm turkey meatballs? Cheese cube bites. Hummus with carrots/celery/etc. Baked wings. Other greek yogurt dips. I'm sure there's others, I'm new to this.[emoji4]

    Wow. 10% become addicted to alcohol? That's an interesting statistic. I had 1 swallow of vodka/cranberry (diet cranberry lol) and the burn was not good. I dumped the rest of it. So no alcohol for me yet!

    Chicken seems to be a common culprit. I am a chicken lover ... I mean LOVER. But for now, I've replaced it with pork. I've also heard dark meat is easier (less dry).

    Agreed, this too shall pass. 7 weeks out, feels like the liquid diet was forever ago. That being said - I have my days when I'm full of regret. I think people start to get the "only wish I'd done it sooner" phase around 6 months. Hang in there!

    Thanks! I've tried premier cold - if I have to drink one, chocolate is the only one I can get down without the instant nausea. I'll look into these options. You guys are doing great! I cannot eat that much - but it's definitely not good to be at the 500ish calories I am! Cottage cheese. I have also added flavourless protein to some of my meals to boost. Eg cottage cheese with puréed berries to sweeten and 1tbs protein powder. I have also added a tablespoon of protein powder to my chili, soups etc. , ground chicken works well for me. Eg had 1/2 bell pepper with a ground chicken mix for lunch...was delish! Beans are good options that work for lots of people, Made hummus for Snacks...eggs work for snacks as well. So it might look like cottage cheese for breakfast Egg for snack Chili with protein powder boot for lunch Hummus for snack with cucumbers Sashimi for dinner I've also done 2 poached eggs for breakfast with 1/4 squash Cottage cheese for snack Soup with protein boost for lunch Hummus snack Stuffed pepper for dinner. I prefer the shakes for my mornings or I end up reducing the protein portion as I don't want a lot of food in the morning. I've been blending my shake with 1/2 banana and 1tbs of PB2 and drinking that for breakfast. I've never been a breakfast eater...used to do a Starbucks mocha for breakfast...my replacement is much healthier...though I do miss the coffee flavour! Do you use powder shake or premade in the morning?

    In a stall

    I've been at the same weight about 2 weeks now. It's normal (albeit frustrating as hell). I'm 7 weeks out, so stalled around 5 weeks. I don't eat enough Protein, so I'm working on that. I'm sure your sleeve is awesome and the scale will move in time!

  23. 185, because that's what I weighed in college. I'm 27 so that's a fair comparison. In college I was on the swim team and kickboxing 3-5 days a week. That put me in a size 10 at 5'10. I'll re-evaluate if needed, but I have natural curves that have been there forever. My boobs don't drop below a DD. Now the band size - that is a different story! Also, if you do the hand around wrist test for small, medium, or large frame I have a large frame.

    Less and less food

    I've never hit my calorie goal. I'm 7 weeks out. I do 5-600 a day.
