    September Sleevers!

Then I don't see any obvious reason - I'd suggest working with a therapist. I see one every week.

    Seriously?

Damn straight. I grew up in that culture, and my Dad never put up with that bs. No excuses was my childhood motto. People are pansies these days, thinking everywhere should be a safe space. Buck up!A true "safe space" is one where people tell you what you NEED to hear, not what you WANT to hear. That's the diff. IN MY OPINION.Agreed. But 99% of people won't. Oh well.

    Seriously?

Amazing post. And so true. As someone who has been involved with 12 Step programs like AA most of my life, believe you me, there is none of that nonsense going on when someone in a meeting admits they 'slipped'. There's no coddling, head patting or excusing the behavior. There's just "Get your sh*t together, man, or you're going to DIE". Damn straight. I grew up in that culture, and my Dad never put up with that bs. No excuses was my childhood motto. People are pansies these days, thinking everywhere should be a safe space. Buck up!

    Seriously?

Preach.Exactly...the liver transplant patient that just wants one drink. "Sure, i understand because i love beer too!"Good parallel! Maybe it'll knock some sense into people.

    September Sleevers!

Are you eating the right things? If not, that would explain the guilt.

    Dinner?

I am also 7 weeks out. dinner is interesting - definitely doesn't seem like dinner. I have my lunch leftovers a lot. Soups and slices of cheese and deli meat. Old dinners were always carbs - you'd find 5 different Stouffers meals every week in my freezer. I just printed a bunch of recipes to try next week. Hopefully it'll seem more dinner-ish soon. Until then, at least I have cheese

    After surgery

That's something you should go to the ER for, immediately
  8. My husband has binge eating disorder - between the 2 of us, it'd be g o n e gone! He is able to maintain a relatively healthy weight, miraculously although he's lost 10 pounds since I had surgery by association! pizza does not come into the house. It's the only thing I'm "afraid" of. Hopefully that will change, but at 7 weeks out, better safe than sorry!!!! I really am scared to look at calories. Yikes!
  9. I'm scared to look at how many calories was in the large pizza I took down half of, with half of the cheese sticks and half a 2 liter. [emoji15] [emoji15] [emoji15]

    Mourning the loss of 'Favorites'?

We went to Wendy's last night. I had chili and my husband had a regular combo. I ate one of his fries and it wasn't that good to be honest. I also took a bite of sandwich (grilled chicken) minus the bread and could only taste pepper. Finished my chili just fine.

    September Sleevers!

I spent an hour or so googling and printing recipes so I can go to the store this weekend. Found a lot from eggface and pinterest.

    ...trouble with binge eating....

I agree with everyone - therapists are great!! I go once a week. Since you're underweight and binging, red flags go up.

    Seriously?

Yikes!!! The one unfavorable outcome my surgeon has had, the guy left the hospital and drove to McDs. Obviously, he wound up back at the hospital.
  14. I hadn't had a period in 2+ years and had an absolute nightmare. It's crappy, but normal.

    Workdesk friendly foods?

How long were you out of work? I'm planning on being out for 2 weeks. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Not long enough! I should have taken my full 6 weeks of coverage. 2 weeks, then a week of half days.
  16. Ugh! Sorry in the shoulder injury and the weight loss impact. Glad it's starting to pick back up for you!
  17. Hey guys! Almost 7 weeks post op vsg, and finally have enough energy to start working out. (I had a 2nd surgery 2 weeks ago). How did you all start? I'm horrible at the gym by myself, but I used to love kick boxing and zumba classes at the Y. I've looked at 9 rounds, they do a full kickboxing based workout in half an hour. Then of course there's the Y, and just the plain ol gym. I have NO idea what I'd be doing on exercise machines, with free weights, etc. My husband is Navy so he could show me some but I know the Y has an "extra" option for some time with a personal trainer. After being out of shape, how did you all start? I'm a 27yo female, if that makes a difference

    Exercise?

Related-ish. I have endometriosis and the hormone fluctuation caused major problems. So not something common by any means! I did have my gallbladder out last year before my VSG but it was also unrelated.

    Cold

Make sure it doesn't have an NSAID. A lot of those combo cold meds do. Look for one with acetaminophen (tylenol) and like pork chop said, liquid.

    Exercise?

My exercise of choice is swimming. Once I was cleared to get in the pool I started with Water aerobics classes and worked back into lap swimming.I was a swimmer all through high school and college. I am thinking I'll do the Y since they have trainers and a pool.

    Exercise?

Hmm. I looked at the Y but will look and see if they have that program. Thank you!

    Workdesk friendly foods?

Bars can be easily stashed at a desk. I was out of work for my liquids phases. I kept applesauce (don't refrigerate it first) and g2 at my desk. Also, some pre mixed Protein shakes don't requirements refrigeration. I keep 3 or so on hand for what I call hunger emergencies (when I only had a few bites of Soup for lunch, and everything is closed at 330 lol). I have the luxury of working for a very large company and we have about a dozen places to eat on our campus.

    Ladies...monthly cravings!

Yikes I hope you didn't get sick. If you're on birth control, ask about continuous. Aunt doesn't come to town. You can also do the depo shot. Also, maybe a therapist could help with the mental cravings aspect. I go once a week!
  24. Damn. That's messed up. Talk about rude. Sorry you experienced that.

    Protein Sample Menu

Thanks - me and cold things aren't friends these days. But I did finally find a protein bar I can eat!!! Oh yeah PB pie - coffee shop at work sells various bars, figured if I tried enough frogs I'd find a prince. So I'm excited about that! [emoji4]
