Here it is - my newbie post

Thank you, I will def try the pbj trick!!! I did get a rotisserie chicken a few days ago when I was just exhausted and ate the leg. It was yummy! I will get another one and make chicken salad from the white meat. I think it's just too early for beef. That's ok, I'm really a chicken lover
  2. I didn't think I'd be posting like this. After all the research, I thought I would sail through (LOL - not!). So here I am, making my newbie post about newbie things. Here goes: I can't eat enough! I get 800 calories in on a good day. Today, I had an egg white mcmuffin with no top and 1/2 of a hamburger steak with cheese. This was at 12:30ish. 7 hours later, I am still full and have 0 desire to eat anything even though I've only consumed 400 calories. And now everyone's favorite - the stall. Lost 45 pounds (310 to 265) in 5 weeks. Last 2 weeks, nothing. I was ok with it, embrace the stall and everything UNTIL I gained 2 pounds. What the? I'm female, 27. HW 310, CW 266. 7 weeks post vsg. I hit Fluid goals but not protein/calorie goals. I follow plan 99%. No pork chops or swedish fish here. I know the depression, regret, and other negative crap is normal. But. I am feeling extra extra discouraged the past few days!

Agree! I can easily get down a full container of oikios triple zero, 8oz refried Beans or other slider foods. My first try and more solid foods like ham, brocolli and 2 bites of mash potatoes ended up at maybe 3oz and an uncomfortable feeling for the rest of the night. If you can handle eggs, try my preferred method. 1 part fairlife milk to 4 parts liquid egg. Laughing cow wedge optional. Scrabmble well. It makes for a soft meal with 100-130 cals and 14-17g protein. HW 385 SW 359 CW 338 Sleeved 10/5/16 Thanks!! Somedays eggs are super good - somedays not so much.

Thanks. I've got the Vitamins - although whoever said Celebrate soft chews taste like a starburst must have forgotten what starburst taste like. Lol!

    Harder than I thought....

My scale isn't moving either. I'm just silently screaming at it knowing I shouldn't be paying attention to the scale right now.I feel like I am a fairly even-tempered guy, but I was about to throw our scale off of the terrace by the end of the second week of my "three week stall." But, it finally passed, and I have been in a free-fall ever since. I bet that's going to happen for both of you before too long as well! Now, if I can just get to my next milestone before the stall rears its ugly head again!! :-) Hang in there! I'm with you. Good thing there aren't any neighbors behind our house! One day I'm going to toss that thing in the lake! Not really, but I know exactly how it feels.

My concern is not being able to eat enough and screwing my metabolism - my plan says 800 to 1000. So I just get nervous eating so little. I'm a very anxious person, so realize I'm probably worrying unnecessarily.

Thank you!!!! I'm going to try maybe 6 times. So I can still get my drinking windows in. I also think I'll switch back to fish vs. pork or beef.

Thanks, it probably is a sign. Normally if a food makes me feel or become ill, I put it away for 2 weeks. Maybe I should do the same with extremely filling food.

Oh no - definitely not breaded! Just like a hamburger with cheese and tomato. Hamburger steak might not be the right word. Thank you for all your suggestions. Avocado would've been excellent on the burger! Haha I just saw your SPAM comment. LOL!

Thank you. It really just depends on the day what I eat, although I am terrified of tuna after I choked on tuna salad week 3 or 4. Lol. I'm trying to find what my sleeve likes and it's a tall task. Did finally find I somewhat enjoy oh yeah one bars - so that's a plus. Even then I just get so full from them! I don't want to screw my metabolism forever.

    72 Pounds Down

    You look great!!!

    Soicy food

Sometimes yes ... sometimes no. I had a squid salad yesterday I had to pick the tiny red peppers out of. Whew, they burned. But I can do buffalo sauce/flavors no issue. Doesn't always feel the best on the way out.

    Still feeling unwell

I still feel unwell at week 7 but it has taken a positive turn. I know tons of people are goid at week 3,4,5. I should've taken off more work because I definitely went back too soon. Everyone says it gets easier - just takes longer for some. Hang in there!!!!
  14. I agree with stevia or sucralose being the better fake sugar options. Further along, splenda makes a 50/50 sucralose/sugar blend you may like. Aspartame causes a lot of bad reactions with people, it's especially bad for my migraines.

    Walking the dogs

I have a mini pinscher (my profile pic) and a Manchester terrier They're such big dogs in little bodies, aren't they? Yes! Oh are they ever! Not many are familiar with min pins, glad to find another mini lover!!! These 2 are siblings, rescued at 6 weeks. Spoiled ROTTEN.
  16. I agree, make sure they confirm the test ASAP. Urgent care can confirm since it's the weekend. If/once confirmed, make sure you call your surgeon ASAP! Best wishes!

    Daily Calories

I must be on the starvation diet. I never hit 800 @ 7 weeks out.
  18. I'm glad you feel okay - I sure didn't at 8 days! I was on Clear liquids until day 10. I still haven't tried a sausage, 7 weeks out. Just now tried a cheeseburger, no bun (from a local restaurant, not fast food). I still eat a good deal of soft foods. If your surgeon didn't give you a plan, there are plenty online. I've never seen one allow eggs/sausage at 8 days. Hope you find some assistance and guidance!

    Post op depression

I'm 7 weeks out. I've been at a stall since week 5. 265. Today I am 266.6 - I was ok with the stall but gaining felt really sh*tty. I am also very snappy with my husband who has been nothing but a saint. Hang in there. It's normal.

    Beating yourself up

I'll bite and say that after I found out my Mom had terminal cancer, I went into a tail spin of depression and anxiety. Yes, depression meds can cause weight gain - but 5 pounds of weight gain. My depression/anxiety (which I'm still medi cated and in therapy for) may have helped my weight gain but 95% of it was me eating cheap convenient meals. It wasn't so much fast food as frozen carb loaded dinners and pizza/chinese delivery. I will probably have to take meds my whole life. And maybe they'll cause me to have a lower metabolism. But that just means I have to work harder and eat smarter. We made excuses to the point of morbid obesity. So, I'm done with excuses - even if there is a slight (note slight) bit of reality to antidepressants causing weight gain.

    Too much protein shake?

Look at the fake sugar used - a lot of people have reactions to equal and sweet and low (can't remember their chemical names). I do better with sucralose which is Splenda. Also, on an unrelated WLS note I get occipital nerve blocks done 4x a year and take amitryptiline to control my used to be daily migraines.
  22. rolosmom7

    protein shot ?

I can only tolerate oh yeah! One bars - I had to try a LOT of options. I'm 7 weeks out and hit about 60g which I know still isn't enough. Just keep working on it. I have a grocery list to try and add Protein like cottage cheese and those p3 Snacks. Syntrax nectar I can also do at half strength, albeit grudgingly.

    Alcohol

Oh I also keep wine for cooking. I don't think that counts ????
