I can't imagine half a grilled cheese either, and I'm 2 months out! That much bread scares me.

Sure, I drink tea all the time!

Losing yourself literally
rolosmom7 replied to doxaholic's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Some people get fat injections to fill in what may be "harsh" angles. Often under the eyes for dark, deep under eye circles. You could always consider that. -
Too much or too fast. I think we all have to learn the hard way, because all of our bodies are different. Make sure you are taking slow small bites.

Advice needed, unable to eat
rolosmom7 replied to Yaymissmay's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'd see about getting checked for a stricture? Even 2 months out on a bad day soups and such still go down ok. -
I'm sorry! Hang in there ❤

Anyone drive themselves home after surgery?
rolosmom7 replied to sunnydeeliteful's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is a bad idea - no hospital will discharge you and let you drive yourself home. I recommend a spouse or family member, but at minimum you'd need to call uber or a cab. -
Your surgeon didn't give you a plan? My plan said 800-1000, but I'm just now able to eat that at 2 months post op. I'd make sure you stay under 1200 at least.

Thank you everyone! Even if I could drink half a glass that would be amazing - hope for the future [emoji4]

3 months post op on 11/10/16, not losing enough weight?
rolosmom7 replied to nakole73's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah I don't think 52 pounds in 3 months is slow by any standard. Just keep following the program. -
When did you start drinking coffee?
rolosmom7 replied to ChristinasSleeveStory's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I tried some today - 8 weeks post op and exhausted from staying up for election results - and I got way jittery and messed up. I didn't finish it. -
Do you live in an area where you have access to the best healthy foods?
rolosmom7 replied to The New Kel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I live in NC and have great access to all the grocery stores but also local farmers and fish markets. -
Understanding where the food goes?
rolosmom7 replied to Lufferly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I stay full just fine - 8 weeks out. I eat 4 meals most days. Breakfast at 8:30, lunch at noon, snack at 3, and dinner at 6. Sometimes if I'm hungry and still need protein I'll eat again around 9. -
I can do cucumbers, started at 6 weeks out or so

My husband doesn't know my weight...at all
rolosmom7 replied to creatingthenewme's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never told my husband before surgery, because it just wasn't important. He knew I was overweight and unhappy. But once the surgery was "approved" I told him. So he knows my HW and SW ... and if he does the math, he would know my CW. The bigger question would have to be why do you feel you have to keep things from your husband? How will he support you when you've said you lost 50, 75, 100 etc pounds? I'd do some thinking on your relationship and why you feel the need to keep this secret. There's another thread from yesterday or the day before where a lot of people talk about how WLS has affected their marriage. Best of luck!! -
How soon does weight loss begin?
rolosmom7 replied to katragina's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You're still full of all the fluids, swelling, etc from surgery. It's not at all uncommon. Hang in there! -

Mourning while Changing
rolosmom7 replied to H.150ToGo's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yeah it's BAD stuff. -
I've seen no ill effect on my marriage - but I think it's REALLY important to ensure you're on solid ground with the same expectations in advance. I work with a therapist, and when needed I take my husband. He will eat whatever I cook, and won't bring garbage into the house. But we agreed on that well, well in advance. It took 15 months from surgery consult to approval, a lot of that "extra" time was spent making sure I was in the game mentally. Your spouse, in my opinion, is a partner who should be in the game with you.

Mourning while Changing
rolosmom7 replied to H.150ToGo's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Awe hunny I'm so sorry for your endometriosis struggles!! Be glad you have time on your side though and please heed my advice, when you can... start your fertility journey!!! Do not wait!!!!! It can take some intending parents 6 months to get pregnant and it can take 5 years or even more!! If you try and try and decide on adoption that can take another 1-3 years to get a baby. I sort of always assumed "they have a pill for that" type thing and here we are encroaching on the dangerous stage of 35 plus and still struggling to have a child. Not to mention the Financials. Just for perspective IVF starts at 15K in Michigan here and only goes up. It's also not a guarantee you will invest and end up with a baby! Not trying to discourage you I just wish hubby and I would have started our journey a few years prior. I wish someone would have warned me. I thought I could lose weight on my own and save money for IVF but life got in the way and we achieved neither. It will be at least another year before we can even safely do an egg retrieval due to the sleeve so I'll be 35 at the youngest having a baby which starts becoming high risk and high chance of mental defects for the baby. So please stay strong, be positive but start talking! It never hurts to get a game plan with a fertility specialist even if it's for the future! There are great options too like gestational surrogates!! It's pricey but sometimes best for women who have serious conditions such as yours! We can chat here or you can PM me if you would like to speak more fertility related. We had been trying for an altruistic gestational surrogate but due to finances and other complications we still can't swing it so all things baby are on hold while I do the sleeve and we save $$. I also need the mental break. We may decide to adopt but I was adopted so it was not what I was hoping for... Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App Thank you! I'm 7 weeks post op so we will see what the next year brings - hopefully good things for both of us! I have put off treatment like lupron because of the devastating effects on fertility. It's me constantly wondering what the right thing to do is. Fortunately, I am young but know I have to make a serious decision by 30. I wish you all the best with your WLS and fertility - adoption may not be your first choice but you'd still be a great Mom. Congrats on being 7 weeks!!! How did everything go for you?? Also what is Lepran? I've not heard of that. It sounds like you at least know your time frame. My husband is so sweet and supportive. Says he would love to have a child or adopt or would be perfectly happy with us and our pets!! Me? Not so much... I want my baby girl!! Thank you so much for your sweetness!! I lean more towards adoption every day but I just worry so bad of them emotional turmoil for our child but at least I could empathize having been through it too. We shall see!! What state do you live in? Michigan here. Just curious Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App Everything went the sleeve went well. 45 pounds down in 7 weeks the downside for me was the d&c surgery I had to have once my hormones went psycho. Being put under twice in one month is a huge strain on your body. I live in Lake Norman, NC and the center for endometriosis care is in Atlanta so not too far from me. Lupron is the devil - horrible side effects including infertility (1/5 becomes infertile permanently) along with weight gain and worsening depression. It's a nasty drug. If they offer it, of course do your resesrch but I recommend running the other way! -

Hang in there!! We will fight it together, women strong!! I wish they'd just listen to us! Endo is not just painful cramps - it's a disease that won't be better on its own. I'm only on surgery 2, I cannot imagine 6. Big Hugs to you!!! -
I eat oatmeal. Maybe I'll back off once I can eat more solids, but for now it goes down well and I can add protein powder .
