How much so far - total?

I was banded on August 13th, 08' and weighed 237 I am now down to 190. I just went in to get some jeans for the first time(I had a few put away in smaller sizes from when I was smaller) and thought I might be a 16 but no I was a loose 14. So that's kind of cool. I'm going on a cruise over Christmas and will finally have to buy clothes; I waited as long as a could before I had to get jeans/pants that weren't falling off me. I basically got to the point where I could pull down my pants without unbuttoning them. I'll probably be in a 12 in a few weeks. Jennifer

    Good luck really Lucky 8's

I was banded on Aug. 13th and I've lost like 14lbs as of today, its like almost 2lbs a day. I haven't even had a fill yet.
  3. I had to remove both as I did for my gallbladder sugery too. Both times I had my period. When I got to my room, I had my husband help me to get a bra back on-I can't go too long with out that, I'm a 36DD. And I also put on regular clothes because I don't like feeling wound up with like two gowns on to cover everything, what's the point. I was more comfortable in sweat capri's and a tee walking around the floor like we were supposed to.

Hi Everbody, I survived surgery on the 12th!

I've got the same pains as you under the ribcage, like someone kicked you in the ribs-its bad in the mornings. My biggest problem is seeing my husband eat normal food-I would love to just taste normal food right now. He ate a chicken sand. from MickyD's yesterday and felt so guilty that I did too. I'm on full liquids until next wednesday, then I go to soft foods though I have to adjust what I eat because I don't eat dairy at all. The dr. said to eat single eggs a little at a time during that stage when a lot of people are eating soft cheeses etc. My mother in law got banded in march 08' and was eating ricotta and tomato sauce the second week. I'm so sick of broth and protein drinks, I had to search to find a protein drink that didn't taste like vanilla or chocolate which I hate. I found one called Nectar its great, I got it at The Vitamin Shoppe. Tastes like watered down gatorade. Also i didn't want to weigh myself for a while then my husband told me to and I had lost like 5 lbs in three days. I can handle that. Good Luck

    Mercy Hospital?

My niece had her surgery on Mon. Aug 11th at Mercy, she seems to be doing fine. Mine was in Hoffman Estates on Aug 13th. My dr. told me that your doctor was great, and really knew what he was doing.

    Gas, Gas and more Gas

Yes, I don't think I'm getting all the water I need, it just takes so long to drink water-I would have to be drinking all the time to even get close. As for the protein-I found this great Protein Whey Isolate called Nectar, doesn't taste like a protein drink at all. I got mine online and at a local store call The Vitamin Shoppe-they had lots of flavors; Lemonade, Iced Tea, Twisted cherry which tastes like watered down gatorade. Good Luck

    Gas, Gas and more Gas

I was banded on Aug 13th as well and I just started noticing the gas poops this morning. I have been having a bit of pain from the port I think usually in the mornings-I have been sleeping sitting up in bed with pillows bunched behind me. I'm going out Sunday with my husband and inlaws (she was banded in March) to see the Chicago Air and Water Show from a hotel suite. I only hope the gas slows down.

    Still in pain

Thanks, I guess I tried to sleep in the bed the first night back at home. I was in a bed in the hospital and awaken about every hour, so I never had the chance to know if I could sleep in it. I talked to the dr. office today and they said just keep taking the meds when I need them during the night.

    Still in pain

I was banded on Aug 13th and I've been home for one night, sleeping is really hard. And the pain on the left side almost behind my breast is unbearable. I was given Lortab for the pain and I'm almost half-way thru the bottle. Any suggestions for sleeping I keep proping myself up on a pillow but the port I guess is so uncomfortable it really hurts. Also, I really can't tell when I'm full since I have so much pain from the port. So I just have 4oz. Jen in Chicago:cursing:
