Hahaha this made me laugh - and cry! Because I am currently moving into week 2 of my pre-op liquid diet and everything has been "moving" along normally, then last night - LORD HAVE MERCY - constipation hit me like a brick (yep!). I had my pre-op appointment yesterday and they gave me some sample laxatives so I dug them out and downed one! Afterwards I read the back and it states: "produces a bowel movement within 12-72 hours" !! What sort of timeframe is that!? If I could turn back time I would be adding the fiber to my shakes at the beginning of last week!! I've just never had this problem!! TAKE NOTHING FOR GRANTED DURING THIS PROCESS!! Moving forward its added fiber all the way until I can actually eat real food again. I encourage everyone to strongly consider doing the same, because it's not fun - really not fun!
