I know this is gonna sound weird, but I have itchy pubic region and pubic hair loss. I'm 9 months RNY postop. The hair on my head has thinned a little as well. Anyone else have a similar issue? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hi again, I've noted different results for each individual. I have personally recovered well, but still have occasional setbacks. I do have much more energy. It used to wear me out to walk around a block, but now am able to easily walk between 3-5 miles every day. As you lose weight, your knees will feel better and your hip, too. I hope you get your surgery soon and can start the post-surgery journey to better health. ????

I think Famotidine was prescribed on a consistent basis for patients post RNY surgery.

My surgeon gave me a prescription Famotidine to take morning and evening and it helps as an antacid.

Victories on and off the scale!

Congrats!!! -
I have been using Biotrust powder, but also really like the Inspire Mexican Chocolate that Bariatric Eating has. Many like premixed protein drinks, too. I try to have 60 grams protein/day--part protein drinks and part protein like on chicken or other sources. I'm nearly 6 months out and still trying to get everything right. Hope everything goes well for you!

And no more diabetes, plus it's easier to walk -- around 45 minutes daily. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I wanted sleeve, but my surgeon recommended bypass as I had diabetes for years and bypass could get rid of it. I'm happy with the choice! I am nearly 5 months out from the surgery date and have lost 55 lbs so far. There have been no complications so far. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I took liquid hydrocodone, but only for 5 days as it caused constipation. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Wow!! 155 lbs weight loss is impressive. I hope your hip resurfacing goes well! It's hard having chronic pain. My sister has it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

You're right to trust him! It worked for me. I have a friend who had sleeve surgery a few years ago and she still has to take diabetes medicine. You go, girl!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

You look great!! I had gastric bypass surgery 4/28/16 and started at 238. I'm down to 180 now, but am aiming for 150. Hope I look as great as you when I reach my goal! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
I wanted sleeve, but my surgeon recommended gastric bypass as I had uncontrolled diabetes for decades. He said gastric bypass worked better than sleeve to get rid of diabetes. 2. The surgery worked!!! I've been off diabetes meds and insulin since mid-April and my blood sugar is normal now! My energy has returned and it's easier to walk the recommended 10,000 step a day! I like Biotrust low carb high Protein shake--it comes in vanilla and milk chocolate and has 1g sugar, 24g protein for 2 scoops, 150 calories, 8g carbs and 3g fat. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

The app is free. If you want to buy any product, it's out of pocket. I attached one of its suggestions. It does involve buying their Protein powder. I couldn't attach it. Sorry--it was for a quick pouch "reset". Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Thanks, Julie! I also wasted time on Nutrisystem, Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers and many other diets and am happy I didn't wait longer for WLS. You keep up the good work, too! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I'm 69 and had GBS on 4/28/16. I started at 234 and am down to 179. I'm so happy to feel better and can walk again, about 4-5 miles a day. Still working out the diet, but feel good! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

When I first got GBS, my 1st postop visit from my surgeon resulted in him saying I should have lost twice as much weight. It was discouraging, but I now realize we all lose at different amounts and we all are trying the best we can. Just hang in there!! We're all on this weight loss journey and should be commended for what we, as individuals, have accomplished! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I am 4-1/2 months postop. A month ago I decided to save time by having a super Protein drink for Breakfast -- 1.5 c unsweetened silk soy milk, 2 scoops of BioTrust powder (20g protein) and 1 scoop of whey isolate (22gr protein) in a shake. It kept me full for 5 hours, but I got super constipated and was on a plateau during that time. Im turning over a new leaf, reviewed my very lean and lean protein lists and am taking benefiber daily. I use Fitbit One--its small and easy to use, tracks everything! Steps, miles, stairs climbed, sleep and calories in and out. It syncs with MyFitnessPal app and gives you a weekly summary of your activity. I tried other Fitbits and they didn't work as well for me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
