Well I was approved for 4 weeks. So happy. Told at follow-up can start puréed on Friday. But need to get more fluids in. Took off steri strips one area weeping but not infected. Have to go get X-ray of chest due to horrible cough even though my lungs sound clear. I believe by the 24th I should be good to go back to work. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

I am having the same issue! I am 8 days out and having issues with fluids. Only able to get about 32-40 oz a day. Sip all day but everything tastes metallic to me. Have my follow-up today. Hopefully Dr will be able to help me with this. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Congrats my surgery was on the 27th also. Stayed 2 days in hospital as blood pressure too low. I am not having much pain but having difficulty getting in fluids. Only able to get in about 32oz a day. Trying to sip all day but everything has terrible taste even Water. Have follow up with Dr tomorrow. Know she won't be happy but hopefully will give me a few new ideas on how to get it in. My BMI was 38 on day of surgery. Had to do 10 day pre-op diet. Not going to tell you it isn't hard but you will get thru it. Just keep reminding yourself why you are doing it! Good luck Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

I agree I wouldn't do it. I gave up drinking any alcohol about a month before surgery. My Dr suggested it. Need to shrink liver as much as you can, alcohol will not help. Think about why you are having surgery! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

@@KristenLe, yes I can take up to 4 weeks as long as Dr puts me out. @@aligator517, hopefully in another few days I will feel better. My sister just went for a walk with me outside and I could only walk a block. Now feel very weak and tired. Chewing on ice hoping that will help with getting in fluids. I am 5 days post op and having same problem. Water tastes terrible to me, crystal light tastes too sweet. I am lucky if I get 24 oz a day in. Protein shakes taste ok, but after drinking like 3oz feel nauseous. My sister that went thru this 4 years ago is helping me, to me it seems everything has a metallic taste. I had the revision on Tuesday 9/27, still feeling under the weather, can't seem to get enough fluids in, trying to drink but so hard. Stomach still very sore especially the one large site. I only told my boss and 2 friends at work that I know won't say anything. My team I just told them I had to have a surgical procedure. Of course my family knows. Appeal it. I was denied at first, wrote an appeal, told them everything I had gone through to try and lose weight. My appeal was overturned just had my surgery on the 27th. Google insurance appeals it was a big help. Don't give up! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

Yeah surgery done. So happy was able to have the revision. Dr said my band was wrapped around my esophagus like a necklace. Extra day in hospital cause my blood pressure dropped way low but going home today. So happy I did this just getting down sips of Water with no problems just can't stomach broth for Breakfast.
