I was told to not take more than the recommended amount as a supplement and then there is some in the multi Vitamin because you can only absorb so much and the rest of the excess is in your urine..

Surgery yesterday woke up to find out they couldn't do it[emoji25]
shrinkingstacy replied to shropee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If your diabetic the surgery of choice is the Bypass.. perhaps thats why they chose that Im surprised they just didnt do a sleeve while they were in there. My doctor basically said they would strive for laproscopic bypass but left the option for open bypass or sleeve if something was hindering the bypass -
I had a lot of pain from day 14 to day 24 in my left side under where my incision was. The doctor said its because they stitch deep and tight there to be sure you dont get a hernia it was worse than any pain I had after surgery so it took me by surprise. My doctors rule of thumb if you arent sure call.. worth a call to the doctor to be safe

during the healing process I had pain in my lower stomach area where my skin is and in my upper left area under my incision. Its common however if it doesnt feel right its ok to call your doctor or team and to get it checked out

your feelings are normal I remember having several questioning weeks.. but remember your body just had surgery It will create extra fluids to help you heal .. it happens I didnt lose the weight I gained from surgery (I went home 23 pounds heavier than I went in) for 3 weeks.. I was devastated then all of a sudden it started coming off. I go through periods every 15 to 20 pounds where my weight stays the same for a week or currently 13 days.. it happens our bodies have to adjust. I can say that Im almost 5 months now and Im thrilled where I am and where I am headed. You will feel that way to one day. So dont regret happier days are ahead

Feeling Discouraged - Slow Weight Loss
shrinkingstacy replied to Andre Garcia's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I felt and still at times feel Im a slower loser.. but I must say that all in all that isnt really so. Whn I look at the total and see Im still losing. I think sometimes we have unrealistic ideas of what we should lose. I gained 23 pounds from day of surgery to my go home weight after surgery It took me almost a month to hit 1 pound of loss from that. But I have lost 68 more pounds since then and I had been dieting for 4 months prior which I now understand also effects my speed of weight loss. Realistically I have lost 70 pounds at 5 months from surgery and 45 prior to surgery and I am healthier and 115 pounds lighter so I am happy. I will lose more..and so will you. You are doing fine. Get your fluids in and get your Protein in ( i need someone to tell me that) Get in 60 minutes of activity.. its happening.. be happy We didnt get here in a month or 3... -

Vitamin Patches from Bariatric Pal question
shrinkingstacy replied to ImBringingLisaBack RNY's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use the multi Vitamin and the Calcium with D3 daily at the same time. I rotate them between my chest under my bra to keep them on easily and my shoulders Under my bra strap again keeps them in place all day. The only time they have come off is when I used them when I sleep.. I move around way to much.. Key is to just grab the corner when taking them off the page.. -
at least it was cheese..protein.. I am 6 weeks out and right now about half my food is cheese.. doc said that ok.. My nutritionist said something profound to me this week.. You had stomach and intestinal surgery NOT BRAIN SURGERY slips will happen.. you just get back on track.. YOU GOT THIS!!

Help Calories, Carb and Fat Intake
shrinkingstacy replied to mstheresa2u's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just saw my nutritionist and doctor and had the same complaint I was told every 30 to 50 pounds of weight loss your body will take a break and say yep Im ok here but if you stay on track it will end.. mine was 7 days.. then dropped 2 pounds and stayed there another 4.. but guess what overnight I lost 3 pounds and am back to the losing track. -
What's everyone's weightless so far?
shrinkingstacy replied to BonitaMamiixo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was 345 in May of 2016, went on WW was 300 on surgery day. gained 23 pounds in my three days in the hospital so went home at 323. I am 5 1/2 weeks out and was 277 this morning.. I plateaued at 282 for 10 days Doctor said every 30 to 50 pounds you will stall while your body reacts to whats going on -
Trust me if something is leaking its better than it staying in I had a drain 2 days in the hospital with very little in the bulb, I got it out came home and got seromas on 3 of my incisions One was so large they had to reopen my incision and press as the Fluid squirted out about 50cc. The idea is for the fluid to come out as long as the doctor is aware let it leak

Oh wow do I remember those days.. I am 6 weeks out and this is the first full week of feeling human again. Eating is a challenge but Im getting there. I PROMISE you it gets better. I had several days I cried and asked why did I do this.. well I did it because Im Obese and wasnt losing enough with conventional ways.. I am down 46 pounds since my pre surgrical diet.. I feel different I can bend down and tie my shoe without being out of breath, I can walk a real walk not just to the end of the drive without being exhausted. I know its hard in the beginning I was just there a few weeks ago and already there is a huge difference IT GETS BETTER

shrinkingstacy replied to shrinkingstacy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
right now I have no interest in sweets but a big interest in getting my Protein in I am struggling one month post op to get enough in. shakes seem to make me sluggish If I drink a protein shake I cant eat the entire day and doesnt seem to digest well. I did get Isopure Protein Powder I now add once a day to Soup and it seems to be treating me pretty well. -

I would not eat at this stage for sure but was surprised when I saw the sugar grams I had thought 5 or 6 would be max.
