I found out about BariatricPal from Big Book on the Gastric Sleeve. I'm going through the 6 months of PAWL as part of satisfying insurance requirements. I just started in August so my surgery won't be until January or February at the earliest. Like most everyone, I've done tons of research and it took a while to get to this point. My BMI runs right at 35, but I have developed several co-morbidity factors. I want to be around a long time and feel better physically and I believe the VSG is going to help me get to where I need to be.
Update: Dec 15
I have had all the tests except the EGD (tomorrow!) and I got my approval letter from insurance today. I am so excited and anxious all at once. I am not afraid of the surgery. I just want to be successful at losing weight and KEEPING IT OFF.
Update: Dec 20
Surgery set for 1/3/17!!!
