I AM fostering a new puppy! This one is a real one--male chihuahua about 1 year. I named him Migo (Mee-go), short for Amigo. Also, "me goes here, me goes there;" he is not neutered and does the sprinkle thing. I have him wearing 1/2 a sanitary pad inside of a bandana and tied around the offending part. haha Speaking of puppies, I have lost interest in my other "puppy" and the next time he calls, I will have him "euthanized." The attention was fun; and then it wasn't. OK, honest talk about Plastic surgery--if y'all had the time (retirement) to get things done and healed and had the disposable money so it did not affect how you lived or saved---YOU WOULD DO IT TOO!! haha Undergarments work--but then, I don't have to wear any! nah-nah-nah-nah-nah OK--here is a proposition that I would like to make. I believe that what you think about, what you talk about, COMES about. So, I am asking Janet to pick out ONE day soon, and there will be NO complaints of any kind on this board! It might make us see how we lean that way. Be positive! Be grateful! Share the blessings--and we do have them. For example, our friends right here. One day! Janet, what do you think.....?

Barney--I had my arms lifted and since I was going to be under, I decided to have a boob lift and a small implant--same size bra, but fuller and cleavage! Watch out! No one sees; I did it for me! -
Laura, I remember my sister taking first day of school pictures of my nephew. He is now 28 and just got married. Enjoy! These are the milestones of a mother's life! And remember, unlike when he goes off to college---Nels WILL come home today! Your first after-school discussion and snack will be fun. Make sure you tell us the cute things he says! judy

The dinner was good! I have now had chicken parmigiana (sp) for three nights. One lady did not show--she forgot! I am okay with that (we're human), but when someone called her and told her--she never called me to apologize for not showing--now, in my book, that is just rude! I will see her on Tues when we go to pick up our scripts. Wonder if she will apologize then. I will see my "puppy" tomorrow night. I had a lot of fun with him last week. He is sweet, but he is just too young for me. (don't ask!) But I will have fun in the meantime.... How can I lose another 20 by tomorrow night?

My doc says, don't worry about breakfast--if you're not hungry, don't eat. My house is clean--everyone come over now! Actually, I am having 3 ladies that I act with over for dinner....I am making Italian--chicken parm, caesar salad, spaghetti, garlic bread, mozarella sticks with marinara sauce---think I have enough carbs?? ACK!!! Tomorrow may be a Protein Drink day. For those who work--TGIF!!

Linda--I just spoke to the friend with the Three Legged Poodle--which, by the way, is the name of her store. Her poodle had her leg removed at age 8 and went on to live a long and full life (she died this winter...) My friend said that if there were other health problems, don't put your dog through it, BUT if she is otherwise fine, go for it. Your pup will adjust and do fine (WE'RE the ones with the problems!) My friend has rescued many and dog and cat and knows what she's talking about! Hope everyone is staying cool--Florida's humidity is oppressive! ox

Back from the wedding--lovely! My nephew will be 28 next week and he is still, to me, "such a good boy." I will say that when he is 58! (please God that I am here to see it!) Eva, tell DH that I hope his shingles go away soon. As soon as I am 60, I am getting the shot. I don't care how much it costs! My mom had it at age 80 and it lasted a long time (a year). Good to see Apples back--PLEASE take care. I am hoping that your life is calm and boring for a while! (and peaceful) Gwen, your doctor did not tell you about PB? Has he done this before???? Sorry you found out. It's still part of my life--2 years out. Had a date--it was fun. Don't go out and buy bridesmaid dresses. He is much younger--I refer to him as my puppy. hahaha Spoke to a man at hospice today--he has fit 100 years of living into 53. The stories he has belong on a TV movie! We need to enjoy and be grateful for each day and each friend! Gotta go--dinner with friends tonight....oxox

Linda--just came back from Boston and will send my friend of the Three Legged Poodle your email address--stay tuned... jUdy

Just read--tubes tied??!!! Take care. Heal fast!

Karen--glad to hear from you...take good care...it's time for that little black cloud that has been following you to GO AWAY!! I am packing (one of my least favorite things to do) for my nephew's wedding. Tomorrow will be a long day, Tampa to Balto to Boston and back on Sunday Boston to Atl to Tampa. I'm ALREADY tired! I have done the Optifast--just the boxes of shakes--for 7 days as of today. I lost 7 lbs. It really wasn't that hard--there were times I was hungry, but a cup of coffee or water helped. I think I may do this a couple of times a year as a boost. If I don't get back til Monday on LBT, have a wonderful weekend. I hope the aches and pains are few and the smiles are plentiful. oxox judy

There is a difference between a Princess and a Diva. Concerning Merry and her leg--there is a vet that has a radio show/newspaper column. When I was questioning the quality of Tinka's life with senility (she was 16 1/2), I wrote to him. I was asked if I would be on the radio show and speak to the vet. And he was helpful to me! Send an email to petworld@stevedale.tv His website is www.stevedalepetworld.com There is a pet supplies store in Sun City Center called "The Three Legged Poodle" named after the owner's actual 3 legged poodle (who died this year-old age). I am good friends with the owner...do you want me to contact her for you? Gotta run-CBL.

Jodi and I know that we were kidding each other. A Jap is one that does not have to get or do anything for herself--daddy will do it. That did NOT apply in this girl's family! If I am a princess for some things, it is because I worked for it and made good decisions! No one ever bought me a car, a house, my degrees, my travels--in fact, no one ever contributed either--when you're single, you have to do everything yourself. AND--you don't have to be Jewish to be a Jap! So there!

Forgot to add--altho I am wearing a size 12 pants, my BMI says that I am still obese. What? They do NOT account for age! Ridiculous! PS Bought the Frizz Free Garnier product--I'll let you know if this Brillo pad on my head goes away.

COOKIE SALAD??!!????!!?? I have to know, Julie. Camping? Jewish girls do not camp. We could break a nail. My idea of camping is a Holiday Inn with a wood paneled wall. Where would I plug in my CPAP? my curling iron? lol Concerning Merry-puppy. So sorry. When our fluffs hurt, we hurt too. I think a second opinion is a good idea. Also, go online and read. I have seen 3 legged dogs before and they adjust and do well. But I do not know about an older dog adjusting. If her health is otherwise good and her prognosis for more years is good, then I think I would try it. Just an OPINION as I am not a vet and I do not play one on TV. This hunger has gone to my head. Two more days.

I don't think Dr. S does this any more....but I had a brachioplasty and would chat with you if you want...

Hi to Everyone! Y'all are a busy group! Weeding and Wedding and Walking and, of course, Shopping. I burn calories just READING about your activities. (I wish...) Julie--300 guests? WOW! I hope DD has her dream wedding AND dream marriage. I am going to Boston on Thursday for my nephew's wedding. He's also my godson. He is marrying a lovely young lady that just adores him (which makes us happy!) and he adores her. The wedding is Saturday night--formal affair. OK--beat this--bought a pair of sandals, originally $35, but on sale and additional discount and a coupon--got them for $2.41. Gwen, remember that anesthesia can put you in a "blue funk" for up to a month after surgery. You are doing so well. It DOES get better. Trust that the band works--if you work it. When are you coming to The Villages? Eva, you will love retirement. I did it at age 52 and have not regretted it one day. Your life will be your own! It's even better than you think it will be. My goal is to be retired longer than I worked! My prayers of gratitude always include the Georgia State Teacher Retirement System--LOL and in 3+ years, I will include the Social Security Administration. LOVE reading the puppy stories--I told a lady at the dog park about a new Pom that had just been turned in to the shelter where I volunteer. She wants to meet her--it would be a great home AND I would get to see the puppy at the dog park. Sooo--I haven't "eaten" since last Wed. I am doing Optifast. I lost 6 1/2 lbs. This was just to bump the plateau. When I return from Boston, I will go back to a normal--healthy--plan of eating. Then I will take however long to lose 20 more and I will be in the range I want.....I am going to do the JANET plan--(we're her groupies LOL) This is getting too long. You probably had to take a restroom break while reading this. ooxoxox

Day 2 of Optifast. Guess who is hungry? I will break this plateau if it kills me. And it might.
-
hi all-- My nephew's wedding is next weekend and since I've been on a plateau for a bit, I've decided to Optifast it for the week. Today is day 1 and so far, so good. Tomorrow's headache should be fun.

I'm back! Now, if I could only learn how to use my digital camera. I also went to a funeral today. I guess this will be a common event since I live in a 55+ community. I also notice that there aren't a lot of FAT older people. We've added years to our lives. Then I went shopping!! Pants 12 Petite....aiming for 8-10. I will get there. Who's with me???

Mayo--here's Julie!

hi all-- The defrosting heater in the freezer went out. It was replaced and humming along just fine now. MEANWHILE, I had to throw away almost everything I had in the freezer. This was God's way of getting me to clean the freezer because recently...I had considered buying a new one rather than clean it. Lazy girl! I know Nels is a special boy to the Tooth Fairy as he is to all of his "aunties" here. I also hope the Tooth Fairy is feeling better real soon. :-) Eva, it sounds as tho you get plenty of exercise and a sense of accomplishment to go with it. Sometimes when I exercise, I remind myself that I am doing this for my "70's year old body." Exercising now will help that future 70 year old body stay well and flexible. I made myself a nice Southwestern salad with shrimp. Two bites--stuck and PB. I waited a bit. Two bites and again stuck and PB. I waited some more and then, was able to eat the whole thing without any problem!!! What's up with that???? I am on a plateau with the numbers right now, but that's okay. I am making peace with food my #1 goal. I'm going to go pet my puppy (who happens to be around 12 years old....) xo
-
ummm---that's piece of FISH.

You HAVE to walk the straight and narrow. If not, Janet comes to your house and kicks your butt. Bad news--refrig seems to be broken. I am waiting for the repair person (warranty service-yay!). Meanwhile, I am cooking thawing food. I had about 3 oz of steak--filled! How am I to get the other 3 oz of steak, piece of fist, and 3 pieces of chicken down??? And of course, the dam* thing goes out on a Saturday night (which is more than I can say for me....)

Good luck on your journey. I was banded 2 years ago and I am happy with my decision. Keep in mind that the band is a tool and you will still need to be in charge. Join us on the "I can help" thread; you will find a lot of support and good information from "our" age group. Any questions? Ask away. (I was an adjunct lecturer for the University of Maryland many years ago.) Judy
