I had a mandatory 3 weeks of protein meal replacement shakes, and broth. Sugar free jell-o was allowed and other low calorie drinks.

If they didn't give you a specific pre-op diet then you probably don't need to be on one. I know some doctors don't believe in a pre-op diet. Btw the numbers of my diet (if you don't want to go all liquid... hehe who would unless they were forced to?) are as follows: Protein: 60-80g, Fat: 30-40g, Carb: 50-80, Cal: 800-950.

    Any Sept. surgeries?

Mine is on September 28th, I start my pre op diet on September,22nd, but I decided to start earlier. Not sure if it is because I am excited or want to be successful. Either way, I am ready.

  5. That is how I feel.My surgery is on the 28th and I know I want this, but I do not want to fail. Like I know I have to change so many things. I read your previous post about gaining weight even though you changed things. Same things happened to me.I take responsibility to a point, but I stopped ALL caffeine and soda, We got this.
  6. I was originally agreeing to get the sleeve done. I read about the sleeve specifically. I got a call from my doctor telling me they feel the RNY is better long term and I will benefit more from it. I am sorry to hear you are having such a difficult time with it.
  7. My surgery is coming up soon. I know this is the best decision for me. I am just scared of failing.

Im down all the weight I gained and 20 pounds I am 3 weeks and 3 days post op.. the surgery is the tool.. you will be surprised how well it works !!
