  1. During the first month out I felt more depressed even though I was continuing to take my Lexapro. I chalked it up to the hormones. Otherwise, I feel better than ever mentally than I have since before my surgery. I describe it to people as "starting to feel like myself again."

    Regret,

Love your positivity! Congratulations on your weight loss!
  3. Has anyone tried Orangetheory fitness? If so, what are your thoughts about it? Thanks in advance!

    It's been a year...

    Did you tell people?

I've pretty much told anyone I talk to on a regular basis - family, friends, my boss and some co-workers. I'm pretty open about it if people ask. It's easier for me to just be upfront. Everyone I've told has been incredibly supportive. I know not everyone has the same support so I understand not telling people.
  6. I've had the nuclear stress test. You'll be fine! Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app

    catheters

Didn't have one for this surgery. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. It's completely normal. You were probably pumped up with IV fluids while in the hospital, plus you're body is working on healing itself right now.
  9. My food scale that I just purchased a couple months ago has already died on me (not a battery issue). Grrrr! Does anyone have a food scale that you highly recommend? Thanks in advance!

    Soft foods 3wks post opt

I started with a scrambled egg and cheese during the pureed stage. I start soft foods for four weeks tomorrow. Can't wait to not have to blend everything!
  11. The hunger pains are likely from acid. Can you ask your doctor for a prescription strength antacid? I was given protonix and it seems to be working well.

Hard time eating on the pureed stage

Agree...small bites and eat slowly. Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app
  13. Have you started your pre-op diet yet? I imagine doing that for a couple of weeks would help your blood sugar be below 200 when it's time for surgery. Also remember that at least one day prior to surgery you will only be on clear liquids, which should help with the number.
  14. I love reading about all of these positive changes in such a short amount of time. All of you are truly inspiring! As I was reading through this thread, I forgot to mention that I no longer have to take metformin for diabetes. I was sent home from the hospital not needing it. Such a great feeling to not need diabetes meds so soon!
  15. I can relate to other's post about thinking about food more. It's kind of crazy how I'm so into watching the Food Network. I wonder if it's because I can't have the food. I, too, feel like a slow loser post-surgery. I've heard others say the first month can be a little slow since our bodies are still healing.
