Encouragement for the hungry new postops
Ebony Rose replied to gustavio's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck! I never gave in to it except a couple times I'd eat later in the evening than I should have because my head told me I was hungry. But never ate junk. We can do this I'm sure I haven't seen the last of my mind telling me to eat badly or when I'm not suppose to but I'm sure glad that it's over for now. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App First time I cooked my kids dinner since sugery and oh man the smell of the pizza crust was appealing. Nothing wrong witg enjoying smells. I'm having yummy onion and beef Soup pureed then added Water to make it thin) I've reminded myself that one day when I'm in the maintenance phase and not weightloss phase I can add some carbs to my diet. Just not today and that's OK. -

Last night I slept for a massive 10 hours, my body was exhausted. I didn't need to have any pain medication before bed but as soon as I woke up I felt my stomach muscles pull. The first hot shower at home was pure bliss, rubbing all the sticky tape gunk of my arms and stomach and finally washing my hair I was able to wash the smell of the hospital from my hair. Hit a wall today with my tiredness, really feeling it but I still have a massive smile on my face from my choice. I feel so in control of my life. I had some natural yogurt this morning and I didn't gag on it. Taking food and Water very slowly, I get distracted because I don't feel hungry I forget I'm eating. Walking has helped get the gas out, sometimes it is really bad if I don't watch how big my mouthful is or how big my sips are. Overall I am well and everyone gets a *high five*

Wow I can not believe tomorrow is my surgery! I remember 4 weeks ago when the doc gave me this date I thought it was ages away. But now its only one sleep away. Honestly I've been average on the pre-op diet. Only doing two meals replaced a day and sometimes not the best choices for the other meal and some Snacks. But I have made a lot of positive changes to my habits. As for emotionally I've been in therapy for 3 years, I have Complex Post Traumtric Stress Disorder from childhoold aduse (won't go into detail but a really horrible childhood). I depended on food to get through it, I used food to help me hide my pain and memories through my teens and 20's but now I've learned new ways to tackle life and food has a lesser grip on me. I think more clearly before eating, I don't binge everyday. I'm not perfect! I still make mistakes with food but I'm happy with where I am before this surgery. My pyshratric Doc sent of my back ground to the hospital so the recovery nurses will know I can be triggered by waking up and being in a different environment. The ward is happy for my hubby to stay overnight in my room to help me if memories and anxiety are triggered. So I'm set. Sister in law comes tonight to stay with my kids. Just need to finish my bag. Yeek it's here! I'm down 4kg (about 8ish pounds) in preop. My mind is struggling with the fact I'm going to lose weight... it's like "what??" In my life I haven't lost more than 15kg but then put it back on.. my mind is struggling with the concept..

Wow congratulations. @@Jessica Smith_270718 I can see a difference, especially around your waist. Well done! @@jbutlerswengel370 you look great, awesome work. -
Excitement and nerves are all part of the process, they are good to feel. You may even become scared and that's completely normal as well, try sitting with all of your feelings. Don't push them aside, be mindful of where you are emotionally. Good luck on this awesome journey your starting.

That second shower was pure heaven... sigh. I'm up and walking around the ward, drinking well. Just need to focus on siping because I get distracted lol I'm taking my morning medications (3 tablets) over a 40min period. Didn't sleep well, different environment and lots of strange noises. I see my doctor soonish so hopefully today or tomorrow for home. Feeling proud of myself ????

Why is everyone converting from band to sleeve?
Ebony Rose replied to futureskinnybtch's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Last year I was taken into emergency surgery because the band flipped I couldn't keep anything down. So out it came. My surgeon also doesn't do lap bands anymore. I had issues with it over the 8 years. -
I was told 60g.
-
Good luck xx

My doctor said 6 weeks minimum.. last thing on my mind! Of course it doesn't help that surgery was yesterday morning and I'm still in hospital... glad your feeling up to it!
