It's done...although with last-minute changes

Hubby and I were just glad to feel normal...just out on a date..we still behave, but not stress ourselves. This journey is still at the beginning, but hey...it's gonna be ok! Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -
51pnds...hello....you're doing great....a 2wks stall is really not unusual. Just keep doing what your doing. It is working...people can stall for a month and them boom, suddenly it changes. As far as no one noticing... sometimes people don't say they notice because they don't know how you'll react. I had surgery on the same day you did and I've lost 55...my dr says I am right on tract...so you are too. Hang in there! Give yourself the credit you deserve! I didn't touch one piece...I was worried I'd break with my 11yr old enjoying his...but I stuck to it. I was proud of myself...I am in control of food...it is not controlling me! How life has changed! Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

Went out to eat lunch with my hubby....we both had weight loss surgery this summer. Followed the program no problem...turned out our waitress had had weight loss surgery too! Small world. We don't hide it from people...we don't scream it from the roof tops either, but if I get asked about my picky eating, I just tell them. No one has made me feel uncomfortable. It hasn't been a big deal for us. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

My hubby and I both had weight loss surgery this summer. Today we went out to lunch for the first time. Did great following the program...but we were laughing at how much smaller the bill was and how much food we were bringing home...boy, life has changed. It's all good. It was a great lunch. You are doing great...love the posts...good luck on your continued journey! Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -
Drinking after eating
Raynbolite replied to natarshassleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can drink before I eat...but same rule after...it's a big pain, but I'm getting used to it. It's become a routine. I hate it, but accept it. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -
I had the sleeve. I have had no real issues, my hubby had the bypass and he had a longer recovery. He lost weight faster than me at first, but now we're pretty much at the same rate. I take meds for other issues not related, the sleeve seems to not interfere with them at all. My hubby had to stop some meds like advil and it has been frustrating with his arthritis. Tylenol just doesnt do it for him. I honestly love my sleeve and am happy to have chosen it. But neither of us regret our choice to do this. The plus outweighs any negative. I am not a vet...kinda an in-betweener....but I know, for me...just my experience...I stalled for like 3wks...totally heartbreaking...but I was told to change it up a bit, add a bit more calories, play around with my workout routine and try eating some different foods...so I did, I increased my calories by 150...I challenged myself with new exercises and ate things I hadn't tried ... Different meats, veggies, nuts...etc. About 3days later, boom, scale dropped 2pnds. I was able to start loosing a bit more...now I've stalled again, but when I do, I get out of my routine and change it up...not too long, the scale starts to move again. I an no expert, but this is what has helped me. Good luck!! Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

You are doing great...give yourself a break. Certain foods fill me up faster that other ones op, depends on if they are high Protein or carby or like Soups....I don't think you are stretching anything. Your weight loss is healthy, just keep going. I was 8/8/16. HW 349 SW 326 CW 275 Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

The only way I stay away from carbs, is cold turkey. I can't go near carby foods or down the rabbit hole I go. It is so hard...but then I look in the mirror and see I have ankles for the first time in 11yrs...so I keep plodding along. I understand completely how strong that craving is. Hang in there! How are people staying under 1000 calories?
Raynbolite replied to rick_ron's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was stuck...same every morning, down to the ounce. I go to the gym 5xs a week. So I'm very active, and follow the program. My dr said 800 cal. I was really frustrated. I was talking to a person 1.5yrs out. She told me to increase my calories because I'm active...so I increased by 100cal...2days later the scale moved, only 2lbs, but hey it moved again. I've been loosing a few ounces each day which adds up. This is my experience, we are all different. I don't think 1000cal is anything to stop you from loosing. But always consult the NUT....but don't stress yourself out. You are doing great following the program. Hang in there. 10000 steps is awesome! Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -
2 weeks post op and FREAKING OUT!
Raynbolite replied to Melissa Williams's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I always go up and down. I just keep following the program...if I stay away from the scale when this is happening, I get less emotional. Weight loss is not always constant. If you gain 15lbs, then I might worry...but up and down a couple lbs doesn't mean anything is wrong. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -
I don't disagree with you at all once someone has hit maintenance. I do disagree with this mentality at 5 days, 2 weeks, 4 months out. I think it is better to wait till you are on solid foods and off the restrictions, when things start to normalize. But it is up to the individual. They will learn one way or another. Has anyone cheated ?
Raynbolite replied to VsgFitMom15's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was allowed lite yogurts an Greek lite as long as no lumps from post op day one. I did fine. Was the best part of the liquid diet...I did add milk to make the Greek go down smoother for the first week. That was not my drs order though, was my choice.
