I thought if I would loose weight, I'd stop sweating so bad. Pre op I lost 23 lbs, post op I lost 38 lbs...so I've lost 60lbs....still sweat all the time....I'm in wk7. I have a long ways to go, but hurry up cold...I dream of being cold all the time. Sweating is so embarrassing. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

6 months out... and what I've learned
Raynbolite replied to doppelganger's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for the honesty....I'm 44 and I feel like life is started all over. I'm at 7wks.... and starting to learn how to eat real food again. You're giving me a glimpse of what's ahead. I think I can handle it. Thank you. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -
Caramel are really sweet, but taste good. Adding milk helps...so not so strong. But they have a good taste. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

I chose the sleeve. I'm bipolar and the sleeve makes it easier to absorb the meds I take because I have my normal digestive tract and I want to take antiinflammatories for my arthritis. I know the failure rate is higher, but I'm strong, I can do this. My hubby has diabetes, so he's had the bypass. The weight comes off faster for him, but I'm still loosing, just at a slower pace. Starting to worry
Raynbolite replied to Autumn Riley Arnold's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
12 lbs is great! 6lbs a week... multiply that by 12 wks!!! See...it doesn't happen overnight, we have to work for it. Like I've heard a million times...this is a tool. Not a miracle. Follow the guidelines and you'll get to where you want to be. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -
I am using an IUD...no hormones and my dr agreed. We don't want a oops pregnancy right now...but we still want to enjoy our new bodies. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

I am not longer the biggest size!
Raynbolite replied to Raynbolite's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My weight loss on the scale is slow, but my body seems to be changing. It was nice to see a change. I just have to be patient. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App Loosing my grandmother was horrible, but not sudden...she was 95. I will miss her horribly, but my change in size would have made her happy. I know it was weird to be happy looking for funeral dresses. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -

I can't help but grin....we lost our grandmother recently. Her funeral is this weekend. I want to look my best for her, so I had to go shopping. I haven't bought a dress in 5yrs. I'm in my 7th week post op. I have seen some changes, but I am loosing weight slowly. I went to the dreaded store today and to my surprise, I am a 22. Not a 24 or 26. I am smaller!! I'm 6ft tall, so a 22 actually looked decent! I might have slow loss, but I have loss! Yay! Sorry, had to share with people who'd understand!???? Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -

Help! Need advice for sleeved family member
Raynbolite replied to kimini's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to agree...you can't do anything to change him. My hubby has done bypass surgery and I did the sleeve. I am by the book, I follow the rules closely. My hubby, not so much...he's not as extreme as your dad, but I want him to do better and he could. Anytime I talk about it, he shuts down. I keep doing my thing, hoping he'll be inspired. But it's all in his court. I wish you luck with your dad, but take care of you. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -
It's not as bad as it seems. You just grab some of the chubby tummy fat, poke the crazy tiny needle in and inject the liquid. Done fast, once I did the first time...easy after that. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

I get moody and bitchy often. My hubby just had Surgery too, so some days it's not much fun here at home. We give each other a break, walking helps me sometimes. Yes I talk to myself as I walk...it is ok though, it's part of the journey. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

Starting to worry
Raynbolite replied to Autumn Riley Arnold's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The Fluid goes down faster, so I know I could easily eat more Soup when I had just had Surgery. As far as the banana, it depends on how fast you eat, slower I eat, more I can eat. Measure out your meals, stick with it. Snacks in between your meals help curve your hunger. I was hungry all the time, but I followed the diet and as I could eat the more solid foods, I felt fuller more easily. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -

Making the journey...together
Raynbolite replied to Charles in charge's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My husband had bypass 3 wks ago and I had the sleeve 7wks ago. We are doing this together. With hormones crazy changing, we've had ups and downs, but we stick together and help each other through the tough stuff. As we get healthier, we feel better together. He's loosing weight faster with the bypass, but I am loosing too. Hoping this will make our lives healthier and fuller. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -
My surgeon said...never. no caffeine at all. Haven't decided if I'll follow it, but at least wait for 6 to 12months. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

Sleep and multivitamins
Raynbolite replied to jilani's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would sleep 10hrs a night if I could...usually I'm in bed at 8p...I used to struggle to sleep...no longer. I'm on my 7th week. Just follow your body, it knows best. If it's a quiet afternoon and your body says nap...do it. Our bodies have so much to readjust to. Let it lead you. As far as Vitamins, my husband has the same issue. Sometimes taking it with food helps. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App
