Don't feel the limitations that I believe I should.
Raynbolite replied to chai20's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
We're used to it. I just try and focus on the prize at the end. The kiddos encourage us, so that helps too. Having my hubby do this at basically the same time, helps too. We know the other understands. Hopefully some of our healthy choices rub off on the kids! Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -

We have Snacks in the house for myself and my husband which are healthy and good choices....and then we have some unhealthier ones because we have and 11yr old, a 6yr old grandson and 3 other older boys. But we put the unhealthy snacks out of easy reach and the boys have limits set on how much they can have. I haven't had an issue once, since I have the healthy snacks to choose. It is a temptation, but we do ok. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -
8/8/16...did the sleeve...I've lost 46#... constipation has been a nightmare! But I'm moving more than I ever have and though I'm still heavy, it is slowly changing. Long ways to go, there will be stalls along the way. My mood is mostly positive. Hope everyone is doing ok. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

High school reunion

My dr said not for a year, it is also high in sugars and your body will react differently than it used to. So don't drive if you drink, even a little. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -
It's 11carbs total...not horrible, but I try to keep my carb count down as low as I can...so I don't do it every night. I admit I buy the meatballs... Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

Cheated 5 days after my sleeve

Those are awesome ideas. I won't let this new lifestyle change how I interact with friends or enjoy life outside the house. It's all about adapting my new lifestyle so life is healthier. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -
My happy food...3 turkey mini meatballs, little marinara sauce and sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. I only have it once in a while, I budget my carbs and calories on those days. But it is a nice little meal every once in a while. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

Cheated 5 days after my sleeve
Raynbolite replied to jenniferbook902's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Most of the time I bring my own food. Boy do they look at me funny. But it keeps me in check. I have no problem sticking to my guns. I just have to keep explaining why and what I am doing. I hope eventually it will stick in their heads. I have friends like that too. Their solution is to not invite me out to eat with them. I tell them it's fine...I can stick to my program. I will bring food to have if I can't find anything on the menu. I am in control. I can still enjoy the social interaction with them. People treat you differently post op. I am still getting used to it. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -
Cheated 5 days after my sleeve

That is so true with family. In my family, food is love....hence my needing surgery. I had to sit down with them and really explain it to them. My hubby had a bypass shortly after me, so we are on the same page, but our family is having a hard time understanding it. Step by step I guess! Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -

I just don't think it is helpful to be so harsh. Advice is great, but telling someone they'll fail at the start of their journey seems unhelpful. It's not easy to be a newbie...we all make mistakes. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -

Ouch. That was harsh. It doesn't help to talk to someone like that. Everyone has their stories and their baggage....you don't know everything about everyone by reading a post on here. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -

Crackers are slider foods. Some foods just slide right through your new stomach. Most are junky foods... crackers... I found I needed to train myself to stick with the recommended portions. Yea I could eat more, but program said 1/2cup at most, so that's what I do. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Remember, high Protein foods first, eat slow, correct portions, wait 30min after you eat to drink, and lots of Water. It will fall into place. Trust the program. Has anyone been called fat?
Raynbolite replied to tanya0974's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am still technically "obese" ... Just not as much as before. I'm only 2.5months in. The truth is, I call myself fat more than anyone else. One day at a time. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -
What has been the hardest part of your journey thus far?
Raynbolite replied to xoxococojay's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have a great counselor who keeps me in check. The support is so helpful. I saw the Dietitian, but after a while basically it was just repeat info. My worry is maintaining...I'm only 2.5wks out. The vets all impress me. They are amazing and I'm learning a lot from them. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -
1 month post-op, so many questions!
Raynbolite replied to avatarkorraa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are doing fine. Stalls happen, a lot. They don't mean anything is wrong. I've had...am having one right now. It's been 3days and not even one ounce of change, but all of a sudden it will start dropping. Just stick to the program and it will be ok. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -
Dried fruit is not on my do not ever list...it's on the becareful high sugar list. As time goes on and my calories are increased a bit, then I might have a few. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

I applaud you. That's awesome how well you are doing. For me, and I'm doing well too, I just want to, once in a blue moon, enjoy food for taste while still staying in control. My downfall was not learning control, that got me in trouble. I feel really good knowing I can do this now. Food no longer controls me. My heart goes out to someone trying to eat tacos on day 5. They don't have control and obviously don't understand what they just put their bodies through. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

I follow the program too...by the book. But my one breaded tender still stayed in my calories, carb and Protein program. I track my food consistently. It was a treat...if I did it every week, yea, that's a problem. But I think a treat once in a blue moon is a mood booster. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

Snacks other than protein drink
Raynbolite replied to Roxsannalee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I tend to eat my Protein during my meals and Protein Drink in the am...so my Snacks tend to be veggies to get the Fiber and nutrients in...but if I haven't had enough protein, then jerky, cashews and cheese. Love cottage cheese and salsa. Weird I know?!? Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -
I had one buffalo chicken tender cut into small pieces on a small salad today. I'm on my 9wk, this is the first breaded anything I've had. I don't think people are necessary throwing away all their progress or going back to their old unhealthy habits to have one treat of a piece of fried chicken. I don't think it's fair to judge them. I don't know how they eat all the other time or how much exercise they've done? Isn't it all about balance? Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App
