Starting weight: 349 Surgery weight: 326 Current weight: 299 I'm 2days from wk 4. I am just about to move to soft foods...yay! New food tastes make life better. Does anyone worry they are loosing weight fast enough? Like I'm not doing it right. I follow the diet to a T, exercise 30min a day...I still feel tired a lot. I keep my Proteins up and liquids mostly up. Am I just worrying too much? Drs say I am doing fine, but I have a hard time believing it. My husband went through a gastric bypass just 4days ago, so I am taking care of him. His weight is dropping really fast, I try not to be jealous, we are doing this together, so we'll be there for our children and he had diabetes. Am I just overwhelmed, this whole journey is a rollercoaster of emotions? Does anyone else feel completely nutty? Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

I'm on my 5th week and emotions are off the wall....lost 15pnds in first 2wks, but slowed right down. Doing everything right, but it's a slow loss. Watching hubby shrink. It's ok, he looks handsomer as he goes. I think I am slowly letting it go. He'll hit his goal first, but I'm gonna get there. Just not as fast. With all these body changes, how can I not be nutty!! I started walking my second week...walking 30min at least 5 days a week. It's good for someone who never left the couch!! Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

My hubby had a bypass a week ago...I am on week 5 of my sleeve. My hubby is just melting away. I'm exercising and eating exactly like I should, but he has lost more than me in a week. I know I should be happy for him. And I am so happy his diabetes has almost disappeared! But I feel like I am failing, as he just shrinks in front of my eyes. Trying to ignore those rotten feelings, but it's not easy. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

Trying to not be jealous
Raynbolite replied to Raynbolite's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yea, that's a good idea. My husband and I agreed not to talk about the scales as much either. Not hide our loss of poundage, but not do it every day. That helps too. Thanks for the advice. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -
Trying to not be jealous
Raynbolite replied to Raynbolite's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know how I am supposed to be. Supportive and happy for him...people ask oh how much have you two lost. I want to cry. I will focus on the good, look at the scale less and work on my self-esteem.... your post helped. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -
Trying to not be jealous
Raynbolite replied to Raynbolite's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You mentioned you are happy about his diabetes being better. How about focusing on things like that that you can be grateful for (for both of you)? Jealously will destroy you from the inside, but gratefulness will help you blossom from the inside out. Start with one thing and add to it daily.Great idea!! Trying to not be jealous

I know it's not helping us. I apologize all the time. I tell him it's not about him. But sometimes it just bites. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -
Fear...return to eating.... Not liking myself afterwards Floppy skin that looks like a flying squirrel Not being able to do enough exercise, 30min a day and I'm dead... My hubby got the bypass, he's loosing weight by the minute...I'm falling behind...so much for doing it together. He'll be skinny hubby and I'll stay fat wife. So many fears...but I have a counselor. She helps me, one step at a time. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

Weight loss and then stall after one week?
Raynbolite replied to Zenlife's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi... I've had tons of ups and downs and I am only just shy of wk4. I always went to food as my comfort, since I was a kid....it is really hard not having that coping skill. I'm learning though, I listen to music, audio books and reach out to friends and family when my downs are at their worse. You are learning and the pieces fall into place eventuality. I'm still working on it and I guess it's part of our journey. Good luck, you'll do great! Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App -
Cream Soups, avoid lumps...but that got me through the first 2wks. Just don't over do it, it fills you up much faster than broth. Broth got really old for me too. I feel your pain, hang in there. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

Thanks...just hard not to compare my loss to his. But I'll try! Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

I feel hungry all the time. Drs are no help, I try to have 3 meals, and 2 Snacks....the more I spread it out the less time I have to be hungry. And I drink liquids when I get hungry and it's not feeding time. Some people do get hungry, we are just lucky! Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App

Raynbolite replied to txvsg's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am on my post op diet too. Mine is very strict...almost 4wks and am just getting into very soft foods. It's hard, but the dr is just making sure your insides heal well. Its hard though...I feel your frustration. Sent from my XT1650 using the BariatricPal App
