Anytime. Be prepared for some life changes. But in your favor. Not sure if you're religious or not. But if so stay prayed up. Find something positive to stay motivated even if it's a will to live healthy and stay alive.😇😇😇 -

Can't wait to hear your story after surgery. You will do great. Good luck on surgery. If you need motivation afterwards please don't hesitate -
I'm almost two years post-op and needless to say I feel like you have been peeping through my window. I was wearing one of my old bras under a tight sports bra. And bought tights to wear as a outfit for each day. You just discribed me to a tea. Not judging at all. Better to get fitted now and prepare to be fitted again later. I will say this, I bought my old size when I was a year out and from my weight loss, I hadn't really noticed until I put on said bra and almost tilted over. 😇 I've found one not that I truly love. I hope you find a great fitting bra...

Can I have bread and if not why?
kcirym2vp@yahoo.com posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am two weeks post op. My dr/nut told me to add gradually. But also in moderation. Make healthy choices. Some will say no, some will say yes, ultimately it is the individuals toleration and dr/nut plan. I have heard some say that they experienced dumping after eating bread and some that took two thru three bites and had no problems afterwhich they became full and fulfilled the craving without relapsing. My dr/nut had me start on a stage that most people told me they hadn't started until six months out. Funny thing my nurse told me was don't listen to everyone you can use caution on what may trigger your sleeve and give you irritation but most importantly listen to your individual dr/nut and also pay close attention to you own individual body. I wouldn't go head crazy over bread but I would ask my dr/nut what they would prefer for you to have if you are having that craving. This is an old post but I decided to post anyway in case someone just as I, who was spending most of their time searching for every single piece of food that we place in our mouths after surgery trying to make sure that we weren't about to stretch our sleeve making sure that you ask your dr/nut and also look for those that have somewhat the same tolerants as you. Your body may or may not adjust well to bread. Take a bite of healthy whole grain or wheat bread and walk away. If you make it through that with no problems eat in serving portions and watch the calories and limit the rest of your calorie intake for the rest of the day.....Good luck to anyone who has had the sleeve, and congrats to those that have made it to their goal weight. God bless -
Who Are You?
kcirym2vp@yahoo.com replied to illgeturhairdid's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hello Everyone, My name is Shi. I'm 35 yrs old, I've been married for five months November 6th. I have four children three girls 16, 9 and 6, one boy 16. I was at my highest weight of 324lbs pre-op gastric sleeve. November 30th I will be three month's out and down to 281lbs. I work for the government. I can honestly say that for the most part Thanksgiving went over waaayyy better then I expected it to. But I also can admit that I don't enjoy food the way I used to before sugery. There is only one thing that I have absolutely no problems with eating and that is unsweetened apple sauce 4oz cups. No other fruit, vegetable, meat or anything else sit's well on my new stomach. Every time I think that I've stalled I go in to the doctor and I've loss more weight. Funny thing that I've noticed on this journey is that people see the weight that I've loss more then I do looking in the mirror. I have never been a shopper type. But lately it seems that I have no other choice, it is such a surprise when I put on clothes today because nothing fits...I was in 3X's and 26W comfortably....And is it me or does anyone else have that one family member that has to snap a picture of your most worst dressed day? Today my husband seems to have put on the weight that I once had and is feeling a little down. Bad part is truthfully if it weren't for this surgery I would be right where he is...Can barely breath, wanting to eat everything in sight and all without cause. Just because I see it or smell it. My biggest task in the stages allowed is ???? bread yes it has always been my biggest weakness... Mostly because it was always made homemade fresh in my home...yeast rolls here, loaves there, fresh from scratch cinnamon rolls there... Now when offered any I feel sick to the stomach...Even thinkingbof certain foods get under my skin... Is anyone else having this problem? Also when I told my nurse that I wasn't including any sugar in my diet she asked why? Well because I assumed that since I was on a sugar free everything mentioned that meant no sugar at all she stated that was when I got out of the hospital and the first and second stage so who here has added sugar to there diet and how much have you added? I have not added any still since my last appointment out of fear...Only equal, and sugar free or unsweetened items...Suggestions welcomed.... -

Update, Made it throught second post op visit. Dr said he is overly pleased with my progress. Mood swings are still coming and going. I am less tolerant of things which is a big up for me being that I was a pushover..Eating is still unpleasant, but I do eat. I love that now even my children look at label's for nutritional facts before eating anything, even in school they are asking questions. I'm down 50lbs working out with my husband and we're helping each other stay on track..... -

Can I have bread and if not why?
kcirym2vp@yahoo.com replied to kcirym2vp@yahoo.com's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was advised after surgery that there would be changes that I needed to make. So I would be up til 4-5 in the morning going from site to site researching various questions that for some reason felt like pulling teeth when I asked my dr, my nut said eat this or that but my dr said listen to me. Me being a newbie had me looking not just from one prospective but from many especially from those that have undergone a similar surgery as mine. I read blogs, watch videos and quite frankly I finally understand why so many people actually end their posts or most questions never get answered. If you don't understand the question or misinterpreted what was asked. However instead of rudely replying to my comment how about giving advise from your experience....Just A Thought...IJS... -

I reposted this post because the previous post left me a NEWBIE with unanswered questions. Also because the old post was about three years old with that being said alot of things change in a matter of minutes. This is for each individual replying if you don't like the post simply move on. If you are like me simply looking for advise from others that have had one of these experiences please feel free to respond. Newbies are almost always left with unanswered questions clearly that is why someone had an idea to create this site. I am praying that each individual old or new finds great health and continued efforts towards better lives.... -

How to eat at McDonald's after the sleeve....
kcirym2vp@yahoo.com replied to Coookies's topic in Food and Nutrition
Well on the Mc'D note I truly never enjoyed their food only bought it for the satisfaction of my children. Had to be rushed back to the hospital today from dehydration and found out that I loss 19 pounds in the last four days (5 days post-op). I hate this diet but appreciate the vast change for the healthier me...It is a rough road but i needed this to see my children grow up... -
No ppi, only gas-x. And I've been walking. Like most I have not had a protein shake dr. said nothing but clear liquids. Which is funny to me because that is all the i heard from my dieticians. Protein, protein protein. I do consume alot of water and water based beverages like vitamin water, propel, water with lemon. I am sure that the jug that I usually drink I'm no where near finishing even half of one of those because even with water it burns with or without the lemon. I have been feeling hungry since my surgery and lately the only thing that has made me fill full even a little is a sugar free chocolate puddin. I can tolerate only a 1/4 of a cup. I tried progresso light new england clam chowder that I strained went down very easily and smoothly. I can admit that I am feeling a little better this morning, I didn't wake up because of gas pain. But I am feeling hungry....

Gastric Sleeve done 8-30 and feel like my esophagus is on fire. And though I know that it is supposed to be good eating habits I believe that of I hear the word sugar free again I may just go crazy. I tried chocolate sugar free puddin today and honestly it gave me a full feeling that stopped my gas pain. I have been trying just about every broth, gelatin and popsicle there is and ot taste like I'm eating sugar and acid. We don't have any other flavors besides cherry, grape and orange...I decided to try straining a can of progresso light new england clam clowder and it went down slow and well. I can tolerate that more then the broth.. Never was a plain soup fan even when I was sick with the flu...anyone with suggestions on how to avoid the bad habits...I feel tortured right about now????????????

How to eat at McDonald's after the sleeve....
kcirym2vp@yahoo.com replied to Coookies's topic in Food and Nutrition
Any Newbies dealing with hardships with clear liquids? I am four days post-op and already beyond over sugar free pops, broth and sugar free regular jello gelatin. My esophagus feels like it is in fire, and the gas is beyond repairable. I started eating chocolate sugar free pudding, and truthfully half a cup filled me up. I can deal mentally more sufficiently feeling filled. Then hearing my stomach rumble and holding a full coversation with my moms dog who since my wls gas not left my side. I am curious about being able to eat life cereal with blue diamond almond original milk and equal? I am truly trying to stick to the proposed diet rather then just going on what feels good in comfort eating... Help...
