My surgeon said it usually takes a few tried to get it approved by isurance, but my lower sag is also covered. He said he would not charge more than what my insurance would pay. Said I worked hard enough to lose the weight he does it all for the insurance payment....hope he is right, would be a nice thing not to have to self pay for part, but I am willing to do that... Now I am getting in contact with PCP and lap band surgeon for thier letters for insurance..same hoops to go through as with lap band surgery, but hopefully the wait is not as long. Can't wait to hear how your surgery goes.

visited a plastic surgeon yesterday! He was very thorough in his explanation of the procedure and recovery and what to expect with the results. He was much more informative than the DR I had a consult with before. Now just a few letters about my sagging skin from my lapband surgeon and my PCP. then wait for decision of insurance company, since they do pay for the lower section, but I have 2 sags. my upper and lower stomach as I call them!!!

It is interesting to hear the difference in everyone's post surgery diet. I had 2 weeks liquid, 10 days mushie, 10 days soft, then on to "regular foods in small quantities. And even now I will throw in a day of shakes as a boost to lose. Everyone has a different weight loss.. 1, 2 maybe 5# a week, especially in the beginning. I then leveled off to average 2# per week. Battling my last 20# right now, but am so happy with my progress 15 months out. going to the plastic surgeon this week for a consult on a tummy tuck. I look like I have an upper and a lower stomach.. and at 57 there is little elasticity left to the skin, especially after being so stretched out. Welcome to all the new bandsters. join in ask question, give opinions, we are all here for each other through the good and the bad; -
what more can I say, but I am so sorry.. I will keep you and your family in my prayers

Oreo - thinking of you and your DH. Good things are in your future. But think of the memories you have as you clean things out. After so many years in one place it is amazing what you find and remember. Even when I moved I thought I had gone trough everything, but when I was getting settled in my new place realized there was more to remember. Thinking of you and only good thoughts -

So I went to the doctor today. She took out 1 cc from my 14cc AP band. I almost went into a panic, so afraid I'll start to overeat, but am determined to stick to it. She advised liquids for another day or so and slowly work back to solids. I go back on June 19. She said with the episodes of PBing I had most likely swollen the opening of the pouch, making almost everything I eat get stuck. Even though I would have only liquids for at least a day after each incident. So I will take my Protein in liquid, soft and regular foods over the next few weeks until I go back. Kind of like doing the pouch test....Maybe, I'll even begin to lose weight again. -

I called my doctor today and spoke with the nurse. I go in tomorrow afternon. Better to check things out than wait another 3 weeks.. Today I had maybe 2 oz of salmon, and a little spring mix lettuce and was full, but did not feel that stuck, tightness I have recently. still sticking mainly with liquids, will wait and see what Doctor says tomorrow -

I need help!!!! not sure if it is an issue or not. I can eat a few bites and feel terrible pain. I went to dinner last night and ate 5 bites of fish. and bam.. felt miserable. This has been happening alot lately. I go to the DR on June 19. Should I be concerned? OR is it just the stress of my job that is getting to the band. It was a very nice dinner with my boyfriend, no stress at all... Any input, ideas, help is welcome -

I have been a member of both Curves and the gym. I enjoyed the gym, because of more variety. but unfortunately, due to the econimic times, dropped the gym membership and find it hard to get motivated to exercise on my own -

Looks like plateau is common at this time for many of us. I have bben at a standstill for 5 months..UGH/..o frustrating, but I know I am at a great place now, but want to lose that last 20#.. So much stress at work, which is an issue. I have always been a stress eater and this is top of the pile for my issues now. I survived the layoffs, but we are down 50% in our support staff and no reduction in duties.. I knw the next few months will be crazy and am trying to get a grip on my stress eating.. -
Enjoy and relax

Once again, so totallt frustrated. no change, up or down. go back to Dr mid June. I do not need a fill as I feel great restriction, think I need a swift kick in the pants..more exercise and less stress at work.. other than that, no idea why I am having no progress

I went to Vicky Secrets and got measired, and sur enough the wrong size for me. I was wearing a 44D... measured a 38C fits great. I bought the full coverage style, best money I have spent.. Now I found Bali's bra, is is softer and moves better than the Vicky Secret bra. same basic style, but feels more a part of me than something on me!! if you get what I mean!!! -
I have been told I would be able to have the panniectomny covered by insurance, but know I will also need more. I seem to have 2 bellies. One that hangs low and then the mid section roll. I will need a total tummy tuck to get that taken care of, but knowing that the cost of the procedure will be partially covered is a blessing.. I am going to make an appt with a 2nd plastic surgeon and get their input before I make a final decision
-
total frustration, still at a stand still, no loss for several months. Don't think I need a fill as I feel restriction. Not sure what to do next..I need H-E-L-P

I am looking forward to a tummy tuck, I was not as fortunate to get back to a somewhat flat area. In fact it looks like ihave 2 stomachs, a lower (apron) and an upper. Have gotten my quotes and sen the surgeon, just waiting to make appointment to get it done, sometime before October, I hope Look forward to hearing how things progress in your recovery.. -

Elayne- looks like you are right on track with your post-op. Green is good, and itshing is common, I felt like itching all the time. The surgi-strip over the stitches were a mess and couldn't wait for them to fall off. I admit, I did give them a little help after the first week.. Great to hear things are going well
