I have not just not eaten a meal in the 3 months I have been banded. This weekend I had one day of wanting to eat everything in sight. It was hard to keep my intake under control. WW, is always changing their plans. Over the years I have used at least 4 different plans, points, calories, exchanges or any combination. I would lose weight with the program, but BANG, back it all came after awhile. I know the band will be there to keep me in check and remind me that the weight will not return.. Last day of vacation for me and I think I am running around all day. I am getting in my water aerobics first thing this morning..get my body invigorated and ready to go for the day! -
gotta get myself back on track. I tried to log my foods while away for 5 days. I did try to eat all the right things....well, except for the 3 glasses of wine last night :crying: but I still stayed within my calorie count for the day and got my exercise in.. so it pretty much all balanced itself out I am anxious to get to work on Wednesday, if only to weigh in. being so close to Onederland, I want to see if I made it with being away for 5 days.. and after talking with the DR on Friday i am goign to look into dropping the rest of my meds.. my BP is great, my cholesterol is so improving, and i have already stopped my Nexium.. the pharmacy won't kbow what to do not seeing me in every month for those 6 or 7 prescriptions, and the money I am going to save!! that will help make my car payment... did I tell you I treated myself to a new vehicle.. I call it Lynn's toy :thumbup:

i have had one fill 4cc in my 14cc band, surgery was 3/19/08 and my fill was may 9. still doing pretty good as I am but have days of pure hunger, always wanting o eat, but jsut this weeknd i had 3 episodes of PBing. Not bad ones, but enough to make me run to the bathroom.. so not sure if I need fill. I know I need to watch how fast I eat and my chewing.. -
I just caught up on all the posts. I have been out of town since Frinday AM. and for the time I was gone I was having posting withdrawal. I sure missed reading how everyone was doing ans the little tidbits of info .. I managed fairly well on my eating. I logged everything on a preadsheet and now need to enter into my daily plate log. I had some difficulty not eating, but the on 3 occasiions had a PB attack.... With a 6 hour drive I had lots of protein drinks to keep me up on the protein intake, but then, had to stop quite a few times.. I walked on the beach one morning.. didn't even get tired walking in the sand. now I can't wait for my week at the bech to hit the sand every day!! I did "slip" and drink 3 glasses of wine last night, but over a 3 hour period. and a little cheese and crackers, but feel that I did not totally sabotogue my food intake.. Almost at ONEderland.... at the DR Friday morning i was 200.5# Congrats to all of us at this milestone... almost into ONEderland yippee!!!! :crying:

I also had a "monster" of a hernia repair. I was told 3/4 of my stomach was in my chest. No waonder I had severe acid reflux No more nexium since surgery. the hernia repair did make my recovery a bit slower than others I know that were banded at the same time. but now i fell great, eat almost anything, spicey or bland. -
Looks like vacation timne is hitting us all. I am away for 5 days and know there will be challenges. We all just need to remember to make wise hoices. And yes, an occassional treat is ok. I was at the beach Saturday and had a favorite of mine, beach fries... mmmmm good, but had about 10 pieces and stopped. Sure I would have eaten more, but the band told me to stop.. so I threw out what I didn't eat.. At least the sea gulls enjoyed them :biggrin2: When on vacation we don't always have the freedom to eat where and what we should.. so for all of us heading on the road. think positive, we will all survive and come back happier, rested and relaxed....
-
:biggrin2:thanks for the encouragement. Can't wait to go back to my PCP in a few weeks and be below 20. and to go with this t bp has lowered and meds are at 50%, maybe no more after my appt. and I have another annual appt to make, the one most girls love so much. That DR will fall on the floor when he sees this weight. he has been on my case for at least 10 years to lose the weight. So as for all of us,,we know we are doing this for us, a healthier lifestyle and a happier one!! I only hope with being out of town for 4 days I can keep myself in line. I am seeing several people I have not seen since January..boy will they be surprised
-
Caelyn, you will just be more informed and have more questions to ask, being educated on this whole process is the bigest benefit you can give yourself as you go through the process HopeInApril - I know just who you are speaking about and I am still amazed he is losing so well without a fill. and we all lose at a different rate and need fills of varying amounts and at varying intervals. tnere is no "one size fits all" when it comes with individuals and the band. Also, hope all goes well with the biopsy..

The Daily Plate is my saviour!!!! If I did not log everything I ate I know I would be overearing and probably not getting in my protein. The exercise log does seem to be a bit high for some things. but by going to the "Y" the machines also log calories burned and they are low. so I try to registera happy medium between the 2 values.. I do kn ow that since I began going to the "Y" on a regular basis I see more weight coming off. I am just a few pounds shy of onederland luckily I have had a steady loss, but know it will hit soon where I slow down..
-
small band holds 10cc large holds 14 cc, they would effect the amount of your fill
-
exercise is for you, don't worry about others at the gym. be proud of yourself for getitng there and doing it. I headed to the "Y" tonight by myself. my usual workout partner had other commottments. So off I went. on the treadmill, recumbant bike and did some of the arm equipment. Felt great. 6 months ago I would never have gone by myself.. or even gone!! and the feeling after the workout is just great/

I have the regular band and I think HopeInApril has the realize. the profi;le of the port is smaller with the realize band and the inner circumference of the actual band is smoother with realize. from all i had read and heard there is not much other difference. I have a large AP band and it holds 14cc, so a fill for me of a few cc is average. if you have the AP-small you may only have a few tenths of a cc per fill. Your restriction is talking about how much you can eat before feeling full. Right now I can eat up to 2 cups at a meal, but that dpeends on the consisitency of the food. i had a large salad for lunch today and i was fine, but if eating chicken or beef I may only be able to take in a few ounces.

sounds like a great plan Fenton To have oyur own custom made board and the opportunity to use it... Another goal to break the 300 mark, and I know you will succeed. I have been river rafting before in the Lehigh Valey, PA. It was great. even falling out of the raft was hysterical and me trying to get back in while it was still moving......another comical moment.. I couldn't stop laughing long enough to get myself back up and in... then 3 people had to pull me in

scallops in an omelet, never thought of that. I do like your solution to dry fish though, it sounds delicious. Tuna was my first real sticking issue. I ate about 3 bites and thought I was going to die, but then again that was right at the beginning of starting real food....shrimp is not an issue for me, thank goodness. I could eat that and any other seafod 24/7 I still have issues with chicken, especially if it is dry.. Exercise was a downfall for me this weekend. All I did was one day of treading water for about 50 minutes. back to the routine this evening. -
As for most of us, busy is an understatement. HopeInApril - sure hope that your medical issues are not serious. it is tough to keep up with a proper diet and routine when thing put you off track. 366- how are you feeling. did you get onto mushies? Did you get an appt set up for yout first fill? On 6/5 I was hoping to get my 2nd fill, but Dr. Wynn said no!! Said I was doing well as I was, average 2# per week..Also since I was having issues with some meats: tight feeling and pain.. she did not want me to be too tight and not able to eat anything but mushies.... I have been able to keep on track.. but had my protein intake boosted to 80-90 gms daily. my 3 month bloodwork showed my iron was low... and I know i am getting in the 60-65 gm protein a day. trying to get in the extra has been tough.. I am heading out of town next weekend, and have little control on what food I am getting..visiting lots of friends back in Rochester, NY..and getting in my exercixe will be tough. Keep up the good work everyone :cursing:

gee, I have had calamari, but not raw. I went to dinner at Carraba's and it was fried calamri, in a light batter, it was just like butter going down. So i guess it is how it is cooked and how fresh it is, like with any seafood. I enjoy sashimi..I had octopus, scallops and I love sushi, but stay away from the sushi because if the rice
