Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
lynnt1215 replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
All the issues began a few weeks after my last fill, 8/8/08.. and today was terrible. everything I ate was tough to get down.. even liquid. I was back where i was when i was just getting accustomed to how eating too much felt. I am set to go back to DR on 9/19, so not aure if a fill will happen then. Also, i have only lost 5-6 pounds since the last fill -

my issues were that some foods are ok on some days and on others i have issues getiting them not to feel atuck. just last night I choked on water! Usually I can eat about anything. and along with that, my fickle band will allow me to eat endlessly on some days and on other days almost nothing -
where are the meetings each night, times and topics.. thanks

Each insurance has it's own requirements. I did not have to have a 90 day supervised diet, but had documentation from my DR for weight loss "attempts" Good luck on your journey. As well as there are some DR that want you to lose a certain amount before surgery. As I said you will realize, every DR and every insurance has their own issues to get through -
We are all nearing the 6-month bandaversary... I too am having issues of motivation. Trying hard to keep on track, but having several "slips". Not exercising as much, but getting work done around the house... I guess that could be considered exercise Now that we are going to be seeing the daylight hours shortening, my walking routine will head inside... but not too soon. I want to enjoy the upcoming fresh Fall air and the change in the leaves.. Set for a fill on 9/19, but like so many others I am not sure if it is actually needed. at 5.5cc in my 14cc band I would think I would need alot more fills, but after this last one I am still seeing lots of times not being able to go past 4 or 5 bites without feeling the band..and other times, anything I put in my mouth goes down!!! My band is FICKLE....

I didn't feel like going to the gym tonight, but I did do some house cleaning, for 2 hours. I did lose 3/4 # while on vacation, so that is 4.75# since my 3rd fill on 8/8/08. My 6 month bandaversary is coming up, really would like to be below 180# by then.. but that may be wishful thinking. Actually my 4th fill is set for my bandaversary, how ironic.

A visual for weight loss is great, I like both the colored paperclip chain and the glass of beads, ideas All i have as a visual is the chart/graph that i see on MyDailyPlate when I change my weight.. I did lose .75 # on vacation, so that is 4.75 since my fill on 8/8/08. I am sure all the seafood I ate on vacation helped me out alot. Definitely a slower weight loss for the past 2 months, but I knew that would come. -

I have only tried HealthWise, Unjury and GNC products for protein powder supplements. I just looked online under protein supplements and went from there. Everything seems to be a personal preference as to taste, texture and cost!! I have the ATKIN morning bars for breakfast quite often, and enjoy most of the south Beach Diet products. The frozen meals give high protein and low calorie content and taste fairly good. And the quantity is small do it makes it easy to complete the whole meal.. -
Rhonda - I know how you feel about going to Daily Plate. I have the same feelings. I do know that I was glad I had computer access while on vacation lasto I could see hoe good/bad I was doing. We all have "those days" that we do not make the best choices, but just move forward for the next day. Good Luck And Hope everyone had a great Labor Day  Now back to work UGH!! :tt2:

I too am thinking about PS. I think I my vcall the recommended surgeon here in De and get a consult. just toget an idea of what would be involved, and to see if they had some sort of pre-pay option, to get a bit ahead on the cost. I would not plan on having anything done until I was near or at my goal.. -

I lived in Rochester, NY until 1979, then moved to Wilmington, DE I have been having terrible issues with food lately. last fill was 8/8, and I was doing fairly well. Now everything I eat is causing an issue. And I cannot eat too much at one time. It is such a drastic change, this far out after a fill. Has anyone else had this issue, or any suggestions from anyone out there? -

I don't have a life coach, but I have a therapist I have seen on and off for the past 12 years. I started seeing her when there were issues with my youngest, she is now 26. And she went through my divorce with me and all my highs and lows since. she seems to know me inside and out after all these...not sure if that is bad or good.

I have to agree, we are all emotional, whether with keeping on our weight for whatever reason, or moving forward. In reflection, I can begin to see my added weight was a barrier for me. I wanted so much to be skinny, but for the wrong reasons. Now I realize, it is for me only, not for anyone else. Either for a relationship or otherwise. Yes, the band is the best thing I have ever done for ME. I am healthier and happier within. Now that I know I am a happier, more content person inside, I can begin to work on my other issues. Being single at 54, but that is no major thing. Yes, I would like to find someone special to spend time with, I feel I have alot to offer to others. But do not want to jump on board with anyone, just to be with someone. Do you all understand. Right now, to be happy with myself, my choices and my healthier lifestyle is my beginning. In the future eveything else may fall into place in due time. Ok, this was my revelation ofmyself. Thanks for letting me express myself. Everyone have a great Labor Day Weekend. Be safe

I have never heard of the "Proteinex-18". I will have to take a look for it. I can always use a new way to get in the extra protein my DR is requiring of me. 80-90 gms of protein can be hard to get in in one day. Long - Doesn't the Isopure have 40 gms protein per bottle? I wish the Isopure was not so expensive..At least I can get it through my DR office for a bit of a discount over the price at GNC -

I had clear liquids for 4 days post op, then onto full liquids. For the clear I had broths, isopure, protein tea drinks sugar free jello, sugar free popsicles and that was about it. Once into full liquids I enjoyed unjury chocolate, made with water or skim milk, I also got protein powder mixes from Walmart and CNC, flavors are always a personal preference. -
FENTON- Where R U??? Have you gone to Paris yet? I am so greatful for this thread. It has been a life line to my band sanity!. Being able to read of each other's sruggles and successes is a boost to knowing I can do better and I am not alone in my journey. I have been a little down in my losses. Emotionally and in the numbers. Next fill is 9/19, but may try to get in sooner. I fine I have more days of wanting to always be eating than days I am not. Vacation this past week has been very relaxing . I dread getting back to the work grind next Tuesday. Have a safe and fun long weekend, to everyone :cursing:

I ate seafood tonight to my heart's content. Lobster and crab...yum...I used to eat so much more, but limited my intake, even so it was delicious!!!! added a baked potatoe and meal was complete. If I am eating out I do try to choose those items that give me the greatest bang for my buck,, low calories and high protein -
Wow, 14+ pounds over the weekend, I would not want to go through that after a fill, glad you are feeling better Plastic surgery - definitely in my future, I never thought of asking a DR about pre-payment for surgery, that I will have to look into. I have no full lentgth mirrors at home and have no true idea of what I look like now. But had a rude awakening while here at the beach. My condo has a big mirror and I can't help but look into it. I am pleased with the new curves I have, but the excess skin is discouraging. I know I do nont have too much elasticity left in my skin, so exercise will help, but not be a cure!!!!:w00t:

I cannot get enough of fresh fruit and veggies. If possible I would live on them alone, but only fresh!!!!! Hate frozen! Nectarines, grapes, cherries are my favorite..Add in summer squash, zucchini, and tomatoes and mushrooms and I have a meal.. So far so good with my staying on track on vacation. Thank goodness I have my food journal, without it I would have a tough time.. I also love fish, almost anything foes for me as long as it is moist. and there is such high protein count and litle calorie count. Last night was blackened Mahi-Mahi...mmmmmmmm:tongue2: -
Vacation time - count me in. A week at the beach is always so relaxing. EnjoyingOcean City, MD this week. I also am plagued with that excess skin. I exercise and do what I can. I have tried the undergarments, similar to spanx, and really do not like them, but that is my personal opinion. I am looking nto plastic surgery for when I am near or at goal. I know the expense is there, but at this point feel it is an option I need to explore. Enjoy the last unofficial week of summer...:crying:

In no way did I mean to offend anyone with my comment. I agree politics are not a topic to be discussed on this thread. I aplogize if I offended anyone. -
It must be prime time for vacations. I at the beach, enjoying the sun and relaxation. But still looking for an internet fix.. Keeping up with my food log, my life line to keeping on track..exercise is slacking.. Fenton - when is the Paris trip? Want a swift kick in your A$$... get back on track..:smile2:

The convention always created traffic nightmare, as any big event in any city. Glad to see my fellow Delawarean Joe Biden on Obama's ticket!!
