Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
lynnt1215 replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have never had any pain with my fills either. The doctor give s a bit of a local anesthetic then one more prick and the fill is done. I have not had any done under fluor either. My issue recently is just some tenderness in the port area. Doctor appt today so will ask on it then. -
He returns...Welcome back!!! Sorry to hear you are having such issues... another fill hopefully will help that situation!!!! Hope all has been well with you! We haven't seen you for quite a bit! Anxious to hear how the fill goes. I go to my DR today, but not anticipating a fill. Since last fill, 9/19, I have had great restriction. It seems odd to me with an APL band and not even filled half way!! But I'll take it!! :Dancing_biggrin: Usually I eat no more than 1/2 cup..Of course there are those foods that allow me to get a bit more in!. I have noticed a bit of a weigght gain, just a few pounds, but am attributing that to my recent//on-going physical therapy for my knee..

Tess - I too have had some discomfort in the port area. It is sensitive if i gently push on it. I am going to DR on Tuesday and will ask her then. I knowI do not need a fill this time. I can eat no more than 1/2 cup at a time. seems to have held at this point for the past month....

PS - i spoke to the usrgeon about tummy tuck, butt lift and thighs, total for all 3 procedures was just under $16,000. but I am fairly sure my insurance will pay for the basic tummy tuck, the fees include all hospital, anesthesia, and doctor fees. As well as 1 year follow up. I know it is a step rpice, but am going to weigh all my options, ee what I look like come my 1 year bandaversary and move ahead from there. Tinme will tel what I decide to do.. -

Hello dashondlady, welcome Saggy Skin saga - I had my consult with PS yesterady. Got the low down on procedures, cost and recovery. Told him I was looking more towards Spring 2009 and would get back to the office after the first of the year. It was interesting hearing give me the options and his opinion on best way to proceed. I hope to lose another 20-30# before I get anything done. -
WTG - Congratulations Julie I agree I think several of us are reaching our "sweet spot" KUDOS to all of us for our success

Body flad - I am having a terible issue with body image. I feel great and think I look fantastic IN clothing, but my issue is getting naked. (Hope I am not offending anyone) Being single and having the thought of being in a relationship and maybe getting naked.... it really bugs me. All the flab and sagging skin any boost for my self body image would be appreciated.. -

Charlene - remember with a PBing incident to go back to liquids for at least a day to let any imflamation go down WTG on the 75# and the goal at 106#. CONGRATULATIONS to both of you  :w00t: -
2 weeks post op appointment - I spoke with DR, discussed what I was getting in, how much, if I was hungry or not, any discomfort, what types of liquids and then was told to move to next phase after liquid diet, no fill until next appt that was scheduled about 4 weeks out Also, weight loss was discussed as well as making sure proper amounts of protein was being taken in.

I am so sorry to hear about Janet's loss. I do understand where she is ..my sister passed away suddenly back in January, and life is still tough at times.. -
Sharon - I have a 14cc band, so I am a bit surprised with the restriction I have with just 6.5cc, but am not complaing, just enjoying the changes.. Kathy - I am sure there will be no fill next tuesday at my appointment with the doctor. I only have one concern to discuss with my doctor, though.... I have alot of tenderness around my port area... does anyone else has this issue.. otherwise I am on top of the world

plastic surgery - tomorrow I have a consult for PS. I contacted the office and was just wanting some info, they said they had a FREE consult appt availavle, so I grabbed it. I know I will not do anything until next year, but at least I will have an idea of the options and cost. I am still almost 40# away from my goal.. but am starting to lose once again after my last fill on 9/19/08 -
SIZES are a pain - it all seems to depend on style, maker and if it is a top, pants or a dress. I do thibnk now I am at my sweet spot. I go back next week to see DR, but really think I will not get a fill, It has been 4 weeks since my last fill and I am still only able to eat 1/4-1/2 cup at a time. Weight loss has begun again, down below 180# YIPPEE.....:huh2:

I also had a rather large hiatel hernia repaired at the time of LB surgery. Since then I feel great, no more reflux, but after talking with others I know and feel my recovery was a bit sloweer due to the repair, but now feel GREAT!!!! Think I found my sweet spot. Last fill was 9/19 and have had wonderful restriction since, usually 1/4-1/2 cupo per meal.. looks like I am on a weight loss roll once again. -

since most DR say no exercise until at least 3 weeks post op, not sure what the Gazelle would be considered. I would check with my DR if I were you, just to make sure. -

these look delicious, I know what I am going to fix when it gets cooler thanks for the recipes. -
OMG - bras. They are the worst to buy. Once I find one I like, bam, it is too big, so I find myself holding onto just a few that fit somewhat well. I can't wait to be able to go and get a "fitting" for the proper size, style and cup...40# to go for goal, so looking forward to that soon
-
TESS - WTG congratulations Special K - I am seeing a big change in watches, rings and bracelets, even necklaces. They all are loose and I feel I may drop them off my hand/wrist. Mamogram - I had mine a few weeks ago. It was odd not to have to worry about "getting enough breast on the plate" I did thinbk it may be less painfi=ul, but alas, it still hurt like H$LL.. NSV - smaller clothes...sixe medium pants, and large shirt. YIPPEE

NSV - went shopping last night for some cool weather clothes..Heading up NORTH, Rochester, NY for the weekend.. I amazed myself. I was able to buy a size "M" for my sweat pants... I can't remember the last time I could say that.. and a size "L" for my tops.. I have lots of trouble with my midsection and getting things to fit..too much excess skin. but thiis shopping trip was a big ego lift for me!! -

MIRALAX - I had to use this for part of my prep for my colonoscopy and it really clears you out -
WTG - Scrappy, congrats.. Thinking of a short term goal for myself. maybe another 10 # by xmas. Things have been slow going in the weight loss area, but trying to get back on track.. Holidays are always a tough time to stick to a weight loss regimine, but it will be 9 months post op for me and I really think I have a good handle on this life style change. even with the slow weight loss recently.
