    DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!

I think she should show here this post and all of the replies. Only a toxic person would act this way. We're not children who need to throw temper tantrums and refuse to go to the birthday party because we can't drive together (that's how I see this.) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!

I'm sorry but she sounds controlling and selfish. To not want your partner to improve their health when given he opportunity is just strange. I also think you need to talk to her, but it sounds like the conversation needs to be about a lot more than this one thing. Good luck and do not let her stop you from taking this step toward a healthier life!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. Pork chop thanks so much brother for the nice words and encouragement and I wish you all the best. This forum is like a big family I love it. What's blowing my mind now is all the preop testing geeze lol I'm determined this time. Best regards Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Oh man... After 6 months of appointments and a bunch of other tasks, they just told me I needed 4 individual psych appointments. I feel your pain right now!! They really do fly by but I had a bit of sticker shock after everything else I had already done. I'm confident you will find the best surgery. Just keep an open mind (this does not mean a closed mouth- express your desire for the sleeve and why) and then really take the time to weigh the options out. You've got this!!!! 6. Very good point but I just have this bad feeling about rerouting my intestines I hope I can make the right decision I really thought the vsg would be enough for me. Thanks for the input Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I feel like fixation on the re-route may be blinding you from really taking a look at the best option. I researched this 5 years ago and would have gone with the lap band (which they typically no longer preform due to complications) in opposition of the surgeons recommendation. I am SO glad I didn't disregard and go through with it. I agree that you need a second opinion, but not to confirm your opinion of wanting it l, but to see what another medical professional thinks is best for your individual situation. Best of luck! This site is great and most people are willing to give you very helpful advice Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Anal Sex Concern

We had to wash the sheets after fun in a hotel with baby oil and a tarp. Ya ever try to grab a crisco covered watermelon out of a lake? It was like that but a lot more fun! Now that's a story for the kids Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. As with any addiction, admitting it is half the battle. You know what your doing, and you also know how to use healthy eating to lose. Start immediately and go into your next appointment with a plan and ask for help executing it. It's not too late and you are worth fighting for! Get it girl! Staying positive. I am NOT happy

The best advice I've ever been given is this. You have a right to be upset- you even have a right to get a little down and have regret, but it needs to have a limit. Take your 15 mins on what could of been, and then pick yourself up and make the best of your new normal. I'm not sure why you think 6 months with a psychiatrist prior to surgery, but not one after when you're miserable is not an option. Please reconsider- this is about so much more than food. Lastly, please give it some more time. You may come to love your sleeve! Best of luck to you. I'll be praying for guidance, wisdom, and acceptance for you. 15. There will always be something someone says that you don't like or disagree with. How you react is 100% up to you. Shaming people and commenting that your starting weight is what some people on here have worked their tails off to achieve is unnecessary and disrespectful. If you don't like someone's comment or advice, kindly move on... Do not put the hard working people here down. Learn to move on and not add to the drama. 16. For those saying that sleeve is less invasive, ask your surgeon to show you the major blood vessel structure after sleeve. You go from having 3 to having one supporting a very long staple line. Bottom line, surgery is Invasive no matter which you choose. This is a personal choice between you and your surgeon to suit your specific circumstances. These all seem like personal opinions on "invasive" surgery. What surgery is NOT invasive? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Facial hair *women only

I've had laser and loved it. Unfortunately, if the growth is hormonal (like it is for PCOS ladies, it is not likely to be permanent. It was worth it to me though because if significantly reduced the amount down to a manageable level. I need to go back! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Help! Avocado!

I'm not sure how early you can introduce avocado, but I would think mixing it with mayo would be a bit much at 2 weeks. I hope the Icky feeling passes for you quickly! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    How did you decide?

For me it was when my surgeon drew a photo of the major blood vessels attached to the stomach. Only one of three was left to support a very long staple line with blood for the sleeve. He said that complications are not common with the staple lines, but can be worse with the sleeve because of this. I'm not explaining it well but it was really eye opening. 23. My surgeon no longer does them due to the complication rates. I've heard stories where they have fused to people's livers and caused major issues. He also said most people get massive scar tissue that can make it complicated to convert to another option. I know all procedures have their risks, the band just seems to be a lot higher. I was not willing to risk having another surgery in 5-10 years amongst other reasons. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Dr. Does not stand by choice

I agree with the ladies- plenty of women have healthy babies and pregnancies and also nurse their babies. That is one of the reasons I'm doing surgery is to *hopefully* be able to get pregnant. Best of luck to you! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
