I spent my pre-op on Carnation Instant Breakfast blended with ice and a little chocolate syrup. It is excellent if you truly like milk products and very filling. I preferred the chocolate by far, but have now switched to Isopure after banding..... Good luck to you.

Because I don't like milk products I opted for Isopure after my banding. It is really sweet so I blend it with ice in my Magic Bullet and it is great. I know I'm getting my Protein and it tastes great. Right out of the bottle it is a little too sweet for me, but blended it is great. I had to order mine on line from The Supplement Store at GNC here doesn't carry it. It was well worth the money. I bought a case of the tropical fruit and the grape...both are good. Hope you find something you truly enjoy.

Why in Tennessee where it rains all the time do people not have garages? Beyond me. Why do people in Idaho have garages and it hardly ever rains...beats me? I have a key pad on my garage at home that lets me into the garage and I never lock the back door, so this couldn't happen at home. This is just a curious question by me. People in Tn buy sheds to store things...I use part of my 2 car garage to store things. I wonder what makes parts of the US so different. Just thinking out loud....

So sorry you are in such misery. The reason for saying NO to NSAIDS is that they remain in your tummy and can irritate it, but on the other hand I am allowed to take Celebrex for my arthritis because it is time released. You need to check with your surgeon to find out what is approved and not approved. The Celebrex keeps everything in check for me, and I don't know what I would do without it, but please check with your surgeon as they all seem to have a different opinion on NSAIDS in any form. I haven't had any problems yet with taking any medications. I have Darvocet on hand at all times for headaches. This is what my dr. recommended when they really get bad. It is Tylenol based and does the trick for me. Hope you get to feeling better.

I barely made it through a week of pre-op. I had to rely on my friend 3 Loves to get me through the worse of it. I was strickly on Carnation Instant Breakfast and Water. She suggested I get something else into me, and I choose the broth from a can of chicken noodle Soup and it sure did the trick. I needed something hot in my body. Did I mention I hate milk products, so that diet really sucked. By the 4th day I was becoming used to the hunger, but so anxious to have the surgery. It is so worth it in the end. I've been banded since July 18th and the experience has been nothing but positive...no fill yet and down 22 lbs.

Now, the key under the mat would make good sense to anyone but my daugher, who is convinced some burgler is going to find us in the dead of night and rob us....no burgler could find this place. I told her that we could have a moonshine still out here and no one would ever know She truly lives deep in the woods, but don't be mistaken it was by choice and the home is gorgeous. It would make about 2 of my house. It is about 3500 sq. ft. and the scenery is gorgeous. I'm going to get a key made this weekend and buy one of those thermometers you can hide a key in the bottom of if I can find one....if not one of those little figurines that the bottom flips open and you can put a key in, but guaranteed I won't let this happen again. Woohoo, though the scales are down and for all my bruises every step is closer to the 195 I want by Christmas time....

That Jeff guy drives MIDGET cars doesn't he???? Actually it was Carl Edwards that got booed, not Jr. Stewart is NOT a crybaby and anyone that say so has to deal with 3 Loves and I, and if he ever becomes one I have one great shoulder he can cry on any time he so desires. 3 Loves...you are married. You can NOT..understand can NOT have dibs on SMOKE. Who says you had him first? I wonder if he and the guys he lives with in his old home need a housekeeper. I know one that would be interested

I watched Entertainment Tonight and saw the newlyweds that were married the day before and pictures of their wedding. It was heartbreaking to know they were killed in a horrible plane crash on their way to their honeymoon. It sure brought the story home. How very sad for all the families of those 49 people that were killed. This is a horrible thing to have to deal with. I will keep them in my prayers. Considering I leave Tennessee in about Jan. of next yr. and fly out of Knoxville, TN on ConAir....it gives me lots of pause for thought, but I love flying and I think this was total incompetence and should never have happened. Flying is actually much safer than driving.

I have one regret. The lap band didn't exist 20 years ago or I would have been the first in line. I love it and have absolutely no regrets whatsoever.

Newbie with a major question
Dody replied to Mary Warren Williams's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I would do it again in a heartbeat. It took me close to a yr. of jumping through hoops (I have heard problems and needed lots of clearance), but I breezed through the surgery on July 18 of this year and have never as much as had a gas bubble. I have been truly blessed to have lost 20 lbs. since my banding without a fill yet. I am looking forward to losing 35 pounds by Christmas time. My first fill is Sept. 19, and I can't wait. I feel blessed at 64-years-old to have come through this with absolutely no complications. I can feel my port right beneath the skin it seems and I rub it now and then for luck and remind myself why I made this journey. I want to be around a long time to enjoy my 5 daughters and all my grandchildren and perhaps great-grandchildren too. I had knee surgery the week before the banding, so I had 2 surgeries in 2 weeks, and still had absolutely no problems...no nausea, vomiting, gas, or any problems. Best of luck to you on your new and amazing journey. -
I googled it on Comcast and it says for lapband it means "victory", "bandit", uh-uh and hello. None of it makes a lot of sense to me, but that is what I came up with.

Your multiple personalities have me so confused I have completely forgotten who I am. Oh well, it will come to me sooner or later.
-
LOL...do you realize what time it is for a nap? You are right though I do need a break. I am completely confused by this thread, and I'm sending you an e.mail in order to try and sort it out. Maybe it isn't too late for a nap? I wish I kind of had a stalker..well sort of..kind of...no I don't either. That would be creepy, but I can stalk you if it's what you really want I'm not sure where to begin though. Luv ya, Dody

They don't ask us for our street address and phone number, just a legitimate city and state. It doesn't concern me in the least to give out that info. Why would it for anyone, unless there was something to hide?
-
Hook me up with a good shrink. After this thread I may need it. I too thought I had met a fellow bandster from Tennessee...but was very mistaken. Now I see someone with NoName, and I'm more confused then ever. I've never seen this person before, so how did they get run off. And the drama continues.....only please leave Tennessee out of it OK?
-
I'm having trouble answering PM's, but you are welcome. There is most definitely no place as Kraggie Hope, Tennessee, and why wouldn't people put their real city and state in their profile if there is nothing to hide? I'm concerned this is once more going the wrong way. If you sign on falsely from a false place, people can't have much faith in you. Lisa, I'm glad to see you, but confused a little over who NoName and PSusan are. Can you clue me in? I sent you an e.mail but don't know if you received it. I hope your new life takes you to great and wonderful places my friend, but there is little to be gained here with false identities whoever is doing it. It's been a rough week for all involved, and I was hoping it was over with. Take care, Signing off from Knoxville (which I know exists)
-
It's a second home to me, and I'm here right now. My son-in-law assures me this is a fraud and there is absolutely no place called Kraggie Hope, Tennessee. I'm not sure what this poster is trying to prove. I just know the place doesn't exist, so therefore, I don't believe the person is for real. Hate disagreeing with you 3 Loves, but if they start out with a lie about where they are from it's all downhill from there....I do love you though girlfriend, but on this one you are being gullible Fitter, although this person may be real who has taken this name, she is fro a non-existent place. She could have at least picked a place that existed  Tennessee is a gorgeous place and Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are to die for, and Dollywood is out of this world. It is a gorgeous place to live and the great Smokey mountains and the scenery is beautful. My daughter is out in the country surrounded by tall pine trees and it is a beautful site indeed. Please don't let this person rile anyone up, because it's strange not only they picked that particular name, but because they are from a non-existent place. That spells trouble!!

I believe this tropical storm is named Ernesto...but I guess Eduardo will do

My dr. said try diet drinks and if they don't give me gas go for it...I have no problems downing a diet root beer at any given time. They, however, may change when I have a fill. The only reason he said people can't tolerate carbonation is because it usually causes gas. I've had no problems with it. I also get all my water and Crystal light in to.
-
Hi my friend...where have you been today? Off living life to the fullest I hope. Please someone kill it. Kill the thread 3 Loves. There isn't much we can do.
-
I think I've only been here about a yr. and missed all the hoopla that went on before,or else I just wasn't aware of who was who. I know now things happen for a reason like I said and I'm sorry I started this post for a very good friend....or a person I knew with integrity who got a little off the beaten track today. Lisa got it all out.....that I do know and she is probably feeling good right now.

I think the surgery didn't work for me because of the amount of arthritis in the knee. It is going to take a complete knee replacement to fix that. Glad you did so well.

New Member recently banded..with questions
Dody replied to ginger's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had a feeling you would come through and be able to supply the answers on fills. Please keep me updated on the fill center you are working on for Boise. All my best to you. -
I'm missing the "report bad posts icon" on all my threads. Can anyone tell me why? Thanks. Maybe you just can't see it next to your own name and it has taken me all this time to notice. Is that it? I see it next ro everyone else's name. Maybe this has always been this way and I just noticed.
-
And wouldn't you know it is the first time I noticed it. Of course it makes sense now....sorry!!:embarassed:
