2.75 years out I started out by keeping it to myself as I was a little embarrassed I guess maybe I told 10 people . But the longer it’s been the more I own it. Now if someone ask I normally just tell them. People will always judge idgaf honestly. My wife’s friend who doesn’t know makes jokes about it being the easy way out and my wife laughs and we joke Bout it because my pre op and post op diets freaked my wife out and she saw that it’s not EASY at all!

I worked on the railroad at the time and now I’m the oilfield. I took about a month off before returning. My biggest piece of advise would be start practicing early on water consumption in small amounts. I returned to work and had to be taken to hospital first day for dehydration... the lifting I was very careful I made my job aware I was on light duty but personally didn’t tell them the reason. You guys will be fine just stay hydrated and lift smart! -
Man I haven’t been to active the last year on this forum/app/website. I let myself down this community is awesome! We work together and educate! You guys calmed me down but I’ll still be getting in with a primary care this week!

I’m about 2.75 years out and I’ve been taking a PPI to treat Gerd daily. Has anyone taken Omeprazole long term or any PPI. I’m concerned with some of the literature I see. It links PPIs like Omeprazole to esophagus cancer. I’m confused does PPIs help or hurt the cancer risk. I know there are other problems associated. Anyone with gerd post op I’m interested to hear your thoughts!!

I’m very concerned. I’ve been taking for almost three years and haven’t followed up with doc in a while. I really need them but so scared to see if I’m helping or hurting myself. Let’s keep each other up to date I’m calling doctor his week!

I’m 1.5 years out only 25 years old and I had an attack about a month ago. Never had any previous symptoms and it was very severe I actually had gange green and it had to be removed immediately. The surgeon said he had never seen one in that condition for someone under 50. He also of course mentioned that with wls gallbladder disease is common. Scariest thing I’ve ever been through medically it was so painful [emoji52][emoji52]

Well about 1.5 years out I had a gallbladder attack with no symptoms previously.. scared the mess out of me I was hospitalized and had a emergency surgery I have it removed. The doctor was very surprised if the condition it was in. It was super infected and had gange green. Anyone else had this. The surgeon said he’s never seen anyone my age (25) with a gallbladder in that bad of shape. But as we all know gallbladder’s take a beating with WLS! Guess I’m posting this to warn and suggest watching your gallbladder closely!
