sic1 sik/ adverb used in brackets after a copied or quoted word that appears odd or erroneous to show that the word is quoted exactly as it stands in the original, as in a story must hold a child's interest and “enrich his [ sic ] life.”. Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app -

Surgery Scheduled for July, Anyone else?

I realize that's a fair while away, but I would love to connect with others scheduled for surgery around that time. Maybe we can keep each other sane while waiting. -

Surgery Scheduled for July, Anyone else?
surviving5 replied to surviving5's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh yeah I'm almost never hungry! But the head hunger is real. I find myself craving bad crap like chips. Or like today I would love to have a piece of cake. But if I'm busy doing something and being distracted I have no real hunger. How do you bring yourself to eat puree meat? I know I should but I just can't:( I made egg salad and pureed that. It was like eating the guts of a deviled egg lol so good. I've been using the baby spoons and toddler plates and that's really helped with over eating or eating too fast. -

I'm 8 days post op. Today is my 37 birthday and I hit 50 pounds lost 9 of those since surgery. Pain after surgery was no joke. But the pain was never in my stomach it was always in my collar bone area. Gas I think. But they were really good about keeping up with meds. They had me on a pump so I was pretty well covered. Until they started making me drink liquid tylonol and crushed pain pills...yuck! For me I don't have bad days, good days. I have good and bad moments of the day. Mornings are bad because my stomach is very empty and it hurts. I normally feel better after a shake. Scrambled eggs, sugar free pop cycles, mashed potatoes and shakes are pretty much what I've been living on. I did try cream of wheat and that sat pretty well. I stop after a little while because I've yet to feel full and I'm afraid to get to that point. Physically I'm doing well. I've been doing laundry and when grocery shopping. Lots of walking. I'm lucky having 5 kiddos because it means I have lots of help with the picking up and moving stuff. I'm down to one or two pain pills a day and tylonol the rest of the time. -

Surgery Scheduled for July, Anyone else?
surviving5 replied to surviving5's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
With July just around the corner, I sat down and started writing list. My hospital bag, what vitamins and my daily diet goals. I found myself feeling a bit lost as to what exactly I needed to be eating after surgery. I know my hospital doesn't require liquids they jump straight to soft foods. Has anyone else felt the need to write stuff down and research a little more since surgery is getting closer? -

I feel your pain I've had my surgery date since March. Everyone tries to remind you that some people don't even get this opportunity and be grateful...blah blah . But it's still disappointing when you're jumping all the hoops and it's still taking forever. But you will get there honest. *hugs* Sent from my SM-G935T using BariatricPal mobile app -

July is coming up pretty fast. When they scheduled out my surgery 4 months I was crushed but it's creeping up pretty fast. The nerves are too. I've never been so scared before. Normally surgeries are old hat for me. -

I was super motivated to begin with because I had to lose 5% (12 pounds)in order to qualify. But I've slacked a bit since losing 35ish pounds and have been eating things I know I shouldn't. I have found that I'm not able to eat nearly as much as I did and I still try to limit the bad and not bring it into the home at all. I know that if I don't start now it is only going to be harder once I've had surgery. I'm apart of a couple FB groups and a lot of the members who aren't required to diet before had say they had a really hard time with "head hunger" after surgery. Because they are so used to eating all the crap food that even though their body wasn't hungry, their head was telling them they were starving. -

I found I lost the most weight when I did shakes and prepackaged meals. I know salt content isn't ideal with these but you know the calorie intake your getting. I would only snack on things that were also prepackaged like the 100 calorie things. I hope that helps! Also remember not enough calories will cause your body to hold onto fat making weight loss VERY hard. -

It's so nice seeing this thread fill up with more people! Time seems to be going pretty fast but I wish it would go a bit faster lol I've lost a total of 35-38 pounds I've been just on this side of 200 for about 3 months. It's so frustrating. With as much weight as I've lost on my own I was really wondering if weight loss surgery was really the way I wanted to go. But after this stall and thinking about all the yoyoing i've done over the years I know I'm on the right path. -

Hiya! Maybe we can be surgery buddies. I'm thinking you won't have to wait as long as I did since they should have 2 surgeons by then. They submit after the class meeting at the UW. Have you scheduled that yet? -

I am glad that my surgeons don't require a pre-op diet. I feel like time is dragging. I really wish it would hurry. -

I'm so excited that there are others waiting on July. I had hopped to be in the hospital in May so that I could use the whole summer for really getting my walking in and getting the hang of this new life. I was SOOO disappointed that it wouldnt be until July. A week before my 37 bday. I cried and ragged. I've gone though so much and to have to wait another 3 months.....Well, its been about a week since I found out so I'm feeling a little better. -

Right now I'm all finished. I've just got to maintain and wait for July 7th. Insurance has approved. It sucks that my surgery is scheduled so far out! I am on a cancellation list, in case someone cancels then I can get it done sooner, but who knows if that will happen or not. I love it here! It really is a beautiful place! Ive been to Cali twice for movie premieres with Disney, but It was all work and really no play. Most of the state I saw from a car window going from interview to interview. -
